Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
I haven’t really heard much of the “the season is too long” like we heard last year going into the SMX rounds. I’m glad to have a few more rounds to watch since it’s not really taking away from the SX or MX series.
It’s a fun series in the fall that will hopefully deliver some good racing. They can call it whatever they want IMO. I’m not worried about the name or if they want to consider it a championship or not. Only time will tell if those titles mean anything.
If a guy has a big enough lead after two rounds that he can cruise around, sounds like that person should be the champion. Not giving points for each moto is what led to a lot of cruising around last year wasn't it?
Honestly I would not mind having 1 or 2 more smx (and so 2 or 4 main events) to make that series more legit, while bringing back the 15 sx rounds instead of 17.
I would not mind more race week ends either, so a solution would be to bring the futures or so (125, superminis, vet, women, etc, more often) more often so that the triple crown events or shoot outs or finals can be with only 1 class, 250 or 450. The show during triple crowns, shoot outs or finals is already big enough with 1 class to fill a stadium I think. It would add maybe 5 rounds, so more money to split, for as many races or even less for the riders. The media or 250/450 teams/truck drivers may not like the idea though or would need a real incentive as indeed the season would be longer.
I will never complain about getting to watch more racing. The name is cheesy, the format can use massaging, but it is still in its infancy, only room for improvement and lessons learned. WSX was a novel idea, it has/had a lot more room for growth IMO 😄 I will never forget everyone (broadcast, models, etc.) on the podium not knowing what to do.

If I could pick, I would like to see
13 rounds of MX, 15 of SX and 3 SMX.
Honestly, the amount of high quality racing we get to watch is the best it’s ever been. Can’t complain really.
I just wish they didn't do triple points the last round. Maybe single for the first two. Then double points the last round. Triple for one just race seems like too much.
In 450's, 3 guys went into the last Main with the opportunity to win the Championship. They were running 1st, 2nd and 3rd. it doesn't get anymore exciting than that. I think the point system worked out just right.
The season is too long is a weak argument. They race 31 weeks a year so that means there is 21 weeks that there is no racing. If we went back to the old schedule the racing would have been done last weekend and we wouldn't have any racing from the first week of September until the first week of January.
I also think the SMX series is a fun series, but I really don't see it being only a three-race series for long. From a budgetary standpoint it's way cheaper to rent a car racetrack than a football stadium. I wouldn't be shocked to see a 15 race SX series, 10 race MX series and 6 race SMX playoff.
A change I'd like to see in SMX is past champions of any series are automatically seeded. You could have guys like Eli or Kenny extend their careers by 2 or 3 years if all they had to do were to race a handful of SMX races.
Shouldn't they be called "Race-offs"? This isn't a pu$$y game with timeouts, toe turf, and goals. Its a race of manly epic proportions and Wrecking ball sized nuts.
Before you go around throwing the "pussy game" nonsense you should look into that sport that has turf toe and timeouts. Football is basically a car crash every single play. If you've looked into any CTE research those guys pay the price to play football.
Aiways love seeing the guys that tear down other sports to show how “core” they are. 🤦🏼
The riders all seem to like SMX
Regular jobs are all year round, why do you want racers work less than all of us
Without WSX poking it's head up there would be no SMX. "Oh look, we just found several million more dollars to keep AMA pr racers at home.
Well, even though I hate the NFL and what they've become..... I wouldn't call NFL a "pussy" game.
"Playoffs" just doesn't fit our sport. ...but then SX has turned into a circus these days and I've pretty much lost interest. I do look forward to SMX for the tracks. Not the same old rinse/repeat aerial gymnastics crap every week.
I’m in favor of dropping supercross to 15 rounds and having 5 playoff rounds
Less races makes the points even tighter, I don’t like when the championship is wrapped up early
The money is tied to the finals/playoff series, so it isn’t going away soon. In reality when you compare it to 17 SX, 12 MX and Monster Cup it’s only one more race.
I like that the hybrid tracks force all the teams to rethink bike setup.
Also they won’t do a true MX round for the playoffs as you can’t sell as many tickets and it doesn’t suit the TV production as nicely.
I like it. Could it be refined, I suppose. The fact that it *immediately put a stop to riders leaving, or considering leaving, the Nationals to race WSX, and it is getting more money to riders makes it a winner in my book. Needs more races to give credence to the SMX championship title though. To me the track are just tracks. I enjoy them all. SX has become almost too cookie cutter to me so a little variety is a good thing.
*Note: yes I know they say the timing of the SMX announcement was just a coincidence. Let’s just say that was very fortuitous timing.

Me too
This shit again….it has been said, shown and proven that SMX was in the works way before WSX was announced…but some people still continue to wear the tinfoil hat…
Exactly. These guys aren't weekend warriors with nine-to-fives to pay the bills. Does anyone honestly think Grant Harlan or @Shane McElrath would trade the ~$40k they earned last year for 3 extra weekends off? That's ~$20k off the US median annual salary, and they earned it in 3 weeks.
THANK YOU!!! Glad someone sees it. Don't get me wrong some time off if nice But I believe these guys/riders that say not enough time has not ever had a real job were they have to report to a boss for 9 hours a day 5 days a week, year round at one location that doesn't have any type of fun factor. Wouldn't it be nice to attend a race and not have to pay to attend or possible use a vacation day to attend. There are worst things to do than race a dirt bikes 9 months a year.
Yeah, try getting shoulder barged in the head by a guy who's 1.91 metres (6'3") and 108 kgs (238 pounds).
Māori side step
I don't think the riders want to get rid of Smx...
I'm probably in the minority but I like it. Ratchets up the intensity, and puts importance on the final race, like a true final. Guarantees they're all going for it, if they like money. Don't like that someone could win it all at the last race? Well, they stepped up when it mattered most and the others didn't rise to the occasion.
Exactly , the only reason wsx exists is because field dumped the fim as step one , and the fim didn’t like losing the revenue
Make the whole thing one championship - SX/MX/SMX.
Triple the championship bonuses, make it even more interesting.
That’s how you make the SMX championship prestigious: only crown two champions at the end of it all, not seven champions throughout the entire year.
Now I personally like having separate SX and MX champs and that’s too big of a change from how the sport works but that would be pretty epic!
The reason we have SMX is so that NBC can advertise playoffs. Part of unifying SX and MX was a single playoff championship decider at the end. Without SMX, TV money goes down. Just accept that it's a silly thing which we put up with for the good of MX in the summer.
