Plessinger.
There is not another rider that would be more proud to race for the USA. That reason alone is enough for me. Tomac is been there done that. No offense.

Yes sure he would be proud to race it, but we would have to drop one of his motos i think because he doesn’t preform like we need him to at nations. Yeah he’s a great rider and is all for america, but he needs to get that clutch trait firing on all cylinders.

He ate shit battling Ken for the lead in 2013 but other than that he has never been as bad as AP at  MXdN.

His worst performance was when Kawi thought it’d be a good idea to use the race to test the 2019 bike.

Exactly, and he still went like 6-5 or something!!!.

Maybe if Eli grew a mullet and spoke in a southern accent everyone would be on board? Maybe it’s all about attitude?

lol, i would think people would be on board because he’s a legend of the sport and it could be his last motocross of nations. I hope people realize that without smx, we wouldn’t hear from eli until close to a1 😂😂. We wouldn’t have kenny or webb back either.

Yes and no. Last year Craig came in not ready and the same may go for Tomac this year.

Like I said. That is reason wnough for me. We have lost over there plenty of times now. I want riders who want to be there. I don't care so much about winning at this point. We need to get back to the roots of why we ever went to begin with. Patriotism.
Plessinger raced all season. He earned it and deserves it. I dig Tomac too. But to me the guy thats been in it all year deserves it more, faster or not.

I think if Eli goes, Haiden goes, if Eli doesn’t go, I don’t think Haiden does which will suck.

I would take; Sexton, Plessinger and Tomac.

Let diaper boy stay home and flex in the mirror while praticing his next interview.  “You talkin to me”

But congrats to danger boy, he rode hard and smart and truly is a phenom.

have AP7 drop down to the 250.

Ap is clearly better than Tomac right now and i would be very surprised if tomac could get to that level in a month. Send Ap he loves America it means a lot to him.

I like Plessinger and he's a great rider but can anyone honestly say they'd feel more confident with him on the team over Tomac ?  Think about it .  Tomac was just coming back feeling things out yesterday .

I not only have more confidence in AP, I’d prefer to NOT send Eli to a fast-ass outdoor MXGP event until he’s got more seat time.

Furthermore, AP2024 sure as hell ain’t comparable to previous AP Editions.

This is NOT a static situation.

True . I'd still feel better with Eli going . I think if Eli doesn't feel he can be ready by then he would say so . Maybe after Iron Man that will be the case

AP is riding better today. I do think Eli can be better by Oct. If winning is the goal, we need a healthy Sexton, Deegan, and a fit and healthy Eli.

Top five in the last eleven motos goes way beyond persona value. They're both very likeable riders, but that's meaningless to this choice. If Tomac goes any combination of 1-2-3 next weekend, then he should be in the conversation. Other than that, the MX results just aren't there to even consider him right now.

And you base that on what? I would wager Deegan cares more if Sexton goes and that it. Deegz wants to win. The success of the team doesn't hinge on Tomac.

I know what your saying but I feel like Haiden and Eli know each other better than haiden and chase because Eli invited Haiden to train with him for however long, which is a huge compliment to haiden.

So you have nothing youre aactually basing that on then? Deegz and Tomac ate better friends than him and Chace, correct

Tomac makes no sense unless people are twisting the question into something else in their mind, like "who do you like more?", but that's not the question at all. Tomac has been back for one race and went 4-11. AP has only been outside of the top five 3 times out of 20 motos, and those three motos were in the first half of the season. He's riding the best he's ever been right now. The order in 450 is easy, you'd ask Chase first and AP second, then it gets a little harder between Cooper and Anderson.

Will it make more sense in a month? As someone else said, Johnny Ringo I believe, nations isn’t tomorrow, it’s in a month or so. Anderson...

Will it make more sense in a month? As someone else said, Johnny Ringo I believe, nations isn’t tomorrow, it’s in a month or so. Anderson will never go as long as he’s on a kawi. Does AP have the come in clutch factor and preform when you need to? I don’t think he does. Also, 4th is pretty damn impressive after 2 years of not racing motocross.

4th is ok on paper, but let’s consider a few things.

His lap times were a long way off the pace.

At the Nations Jett will be back, in addition to probably half a dozen other fast guys who are around the level of Sexton and Hunter.

His 4th at Budds would realistically be lucky to be in the top ten at MXoN.

I’m honestly surprised that Justin Cooper isn’t in the discussion.  He did really well for you guys in ‘22.  He’s been a little more inconsistent than AP but early in the season he pushed the Lawrence’s and Sexton more than AP has done.

If Eli wants to go and commits to being in shape by then he should be the choice. AP can go next year.

There is also some truth to KTM having leverage to send Sexton and AP (KTM money and making it easy with both guys on the same team).

But maybe Team USA gets Deegan only if Eli goes? Eli and Dangerboy will be a huge draw for the fans as well. Tomac's last appearance most likely. Everyone will want to see that.

Tomac matched AP in the 1st moto and that is after not racing MX in two+ years. Second moto he had a horrible start, track was super hard to pass and he didn't want to risk it...he rode it out as he should have based on his situation.

Wonderboy Deegan had the exact same kind of ride 2nd moto. Eli is the best choice.

AP beat him at Budds, but Tomac has years of track record to go on. If he’s willing to go, ET3 will make us proud.

I think Eli actually showed 'enough' at Budds to be the choice. Unless, he decided he doesn't think he would be ready.

Mind blowing the amount of swinging and blind hope here...it is Vital though. Lets pass up the guy who has been in the trenches all year for a guy that has been MIA till this past weekend. Peoples champ all day long over a perceived knight.

I don’t see Eli going if he doesn’t feel he’s the right choice as far as how’s he’s riding. If he’s willing when the time comes then I’d take that Eli over AP

Because that guy who has been MIA lately is an all-time great, 4x MX champ and prior MXON champion. He is not that old yet either. Pretty simple choice if he thinks he will be ready. Not mind-blowing at all.

This is exactly what I saw. It’s crazy the lack of deeper thinking the crew here has…

“He finished 11th he’s washed up”

He finished 11th because the tracks horrible to pass on and he isn’t in a situation where he has to fight for points. So hanging it out to risk making passes to what? Prove he still has it? He proved that moto 1 finishing 4th on a bike he hasn’t raced outdoors ever on after months off…or he proved that the dozen and dozen of overall wins he has… Moto 2 he put the laps in racing on a rough outdoor pro national to build his base and get seat time.

He’s simply better overall outdoors. He’s a what 3 or 4 time Mx champ? He’s a beast, period.

Plessinger is great until he’s not. 35th place starts, or a lovely front end tuck always at the most inconvenient times.
