Used to be a few years back if you didn't have a kit you where considered to be lacking. I wonder if they will go the way of spoke skins?

I only use them to keep the plastics from getting wrecked, so 125 ish is my max I’ll spend on them. More than that, just destroy the plastics at will lol.

To me, SKDA is the exact opposite.
Creativity, choice of styles and a real talent.

I am just going to save some money and go with stock graphics this year.

Yeah, graphics are too much dollars now. Right now I'm just running white plastic with cheap Attack graphic number plates. I was looking on eBay and there are some ok looking designs like was said earlier that come with name and numbers for about $80 - $100 less than main graphic companies.

I like the Backyard Designs full custom, but they are $229. Too much for me.

I produced graphics wholesale for about 10 years before knocking it on the head .

99.9999% of companies use the exact same Vinyl & laminate from a company called Substance.

You may / may not be surprised to learn several “ big name” companies outsource their production to a 3rd party. I’ve seen company “ X” graphics getting printed right beside company “Y” graphics on the same printer, even that notwithstanding there are only a few printers, laminators & cutters to choose from to produce MX graphics so the quality argument is somewhat redundant.

Production costs are right around $60.00 ( not including shop rent etc ) so just decide who do you want to give your money to.  My advice is to find a company that actually responds to your calls / emails and gets shit done when they say they will - that’s way harder said than done surprisingly .

Try and support your local graphics company if you can they deserve a chance to show you what they can do and will generally go over and above to make sure you’re happy.

What printer are they using mostly. I make stickers and banners for a different industry and want an Epson 80600 to replace my current HP Latex.

You definitely shouldnt be paying that much for a set of 50 graphics. I run the graphics department over at Enjoy MFG and would feel guilty about charging that much. That bike should be no more than $150

That’s exactly what I was thinking. You got an email and I’ll contact you about this set?

Epson 80600 is the go to for entry into production speed with also hitting most pantone colors.

Tons of other options but that is a safe bet for realistic production speed and reliability.

No problem . If you need help with picking a cutter let me know . That is a tricky one. You don’t need a $45k flatbed but you do need to work out cut speeds , cut depth, perf cuts on top of kiss cuts,  blade angles and how to configure your cutter so it effectively replicates how a flatbed operates. As to what BG commented , I can’t comment on the Epson. The Roland hit each color perfectly using thier color swatch library though .

No offense Bro. I can think of a ton of reasons why you are not. Sometimes my satire can be a little over the top. Happy Motos! 😊

Lucky my DBP was sold eith multiple kits due to the extreme high probability of the rider blacking out from the 5 g forces.  I think the 04 is the sharpest stock graphics ever. I bought a replica kit made by fx for 29.00. IMG 9302 0.jpeg?VersionId=IMG 5647 0.jpeg?VersionId=IaIMG 4109 2.jpeg?VersionId=Adu09KWzXPkaJZrAmbiLQF3272YIMG 4110 2

Any chance you guys produce something for a DRZ with an oversized tank?  Rocky Mountain has a kit but with their own graphics on it.  I haven't seen any others with the tank/shroud combined for the DRZ with an IMS 4.0 tank.  The tank is like the picture below.  That's not my bike, but it's the same other than the color, etc.

Any of these companies willing to just make some clear graphics? I am not spending hundreds of dollars on anything to advertise for any company not paying my bills or helping with costs.

I have a great relationship with FactoryEffex and love their stuff. Been using them since 2007 and have had no issues.

With that said, I'm pretty much sticking with stock graphics and just backgrounds for now. As much as I'd love to have another complete custom kit on my bike, it's unnecessary at this point in time and the money is better spent on tires/oils/filters.

SKDA is out of Australia, right? Probably why anyone ordering from them outside of Australia gets the sticker shock. They make some great looking stuff though, no denying that.

They use some US graphic companies to print for them. So they ship from in the US. I know of 2 US based smaller graphics guys that have printed for SKDA.

The big difference You will find between graphics companies these days is the customer service. And sometimes some places will have a printer that can hit some different colors. But for the most part everybody uses the same materials and durability should be similar. And fit wise, these days there are enough template providers that make really good fitting templates. So if You have a bike that is brand new or a few years old. Fitment should not be an issue between brands.  When You get into older bikes , there are fewer quality templates available and You need to find a company that will either have experience with older models or be sometimes  willing to make templates .

I own a smaller graphic company . And it is hard for me to give everybody the attention I want to give them.  SKDA  started off with a very similar concept to some of my designs at the time.  But its not   the designs that blew them up. They have been able to pump them out fast. And made customer service and speed the biggest priority.

Bottom line, If they have a design You love. Go with them. If You have an idea for a custom design. Find a place that has produced custom stuff that has the style You are looking for.  Just don't take an image of a design from one company to another and ask for an identical design. Use the company who made it whenever possible. I know that there can be reasons why it is not always possible.
