Nope!
Yeah, I could be a famous football player if I trained for 10 years straight, but I don't want to be famous..
Jokes aside, I like AJ, but that's a horrible take wtf.
Started racing Pro in 2010. Best finish was a 4th at Indy in 2013. Last Pro race was Nashville 2023. He had plenty of time to train and become a champion, but never did. Doubt his bike was the reason for all of his finishes outside of the top 10 throughout his career.... Idk man, I don't necessarily believe that. You either have it in you or you don't.
That's bait bro

basically believe this too. training can only take you so far. you either are blessed with gift or not
Catanzaro = The Cooksey of Moto Coaches
Possible for somebody? Sure. Possible for me? Nope.
A National Championship would probably end up putting somewhere between $1.5-$2M in your pocket from all the bonuses you’d get. If AJ truly believed that 5 years of training would net him a title, he’d be making somewhere between $350-$400K each year in the end just by doing that, likely more because he’d be doing some winning before that 5th year.
If he thought it was realistic, he should borrow the money needed for the first 2-3 years of that 5 year plan. After that he’d be treading water until that big payoff year…….
Eh I believe this to an extent. I believe he teaches a good starting basis for technique. Other than that I think he just spews out shit for you to pay an ungodly amount to go to his academy class.
Is he taking about the Glen Hellen AME 450C class?
Nah. Train all you want. You can be in shape and still be slow. Or mental. Or both. Lots of homeschool heroes coming out of riding factories prove this every year.
On the other hand...desire (Hannah, Stanton, Carmichael, Dungey) or natural talent (Tripes, Lechein, Stew, Bayle) will rise to the top.
That dude is smoked. Couldn’t make it as a pro so he is just doing the hustle Grindset Instagram influencer life coach thing disguised as a moto thing.
I see guys from my hometown fall into that influence all the time. Internet rich dudes with lambos saying “ hustle like me wake up really early be dangerous but loyal blah blah and if you pay for my life plan seminar I can buy another fast car”
This is accurate. The Earl Sheib of moto "coaches". And there's a lot of them.
I love how he repeatedly said this was Hunter's opinion. What an airhead.
Lol. Well if Hunter said it, it’s gotta be true. He only said that cause he knows AJ won’t do it. So Hunter could lie to him and get away with it this time.
He really does his best to not be well lliked in the industry. Shitting on Buttery, a dude jjust making vvideos, having fun rriding. The GPF ddebacle. Now making these ridiculou comments and blaming other people saying they took them wrong
Thats a ridiculous take to me. Every guy on that gate has been training for 5 years straight...
All the training in the world doesn't teach things like all the little micro-movements needed in MX to separate the average pro riders from the elite. It also doesn't teach people to have the guts to hit obstacles needed to separate the average from elite. Could someone train perfectly for 5 years and become a pro rider? Sure. Win a championship at the highest level of a chosen professional sport? No EF'ing way. That's only what happens when raw talent aligns with hard work.
That's the problem with an equal opportunity mindset versus an equal outcome mindset. Not everyone has the same inputs: effort, talent, grit
Pit Row
Maybe he's looking for more of a full-time training gig? 5 year contract?
Aj is MXs answer to a question nobody asked 🤦🏻
We have a local guy here who's long time riding buddy qualified for numerous night shows in SX. This particular guy was just as fast, maybe faster but when he lined up to race, puked in his helmet. Training and riding is one thing, racing is another. The mental game is what separates the best of the best, from the rest.
No. You got it, or you don’t
I fear he's been eclipsed already because I think the speed at which the young & fast riders are progressing will surpass the drive of an experienced veteran like AJ. How would AJ stack up against LL's +25 class, or against Drew Adams & Cole Davies, over the course of a 250 SX season?
I love what he's doing with the MotoX Academy—specifically his continuous presence on social media which recount the testimonies of a wide array of riders—and I think he's got a massive opportunity to grow that platform over time.
Big fan and would enjoy meeting him one day.
I remember him saying something pretty close to this before on his youtube channel when he was trying to make sx mains a few years ago and wasnt qualifying. That time he said “the only difference between me and the guys that are winning is the amount of training theyre able to do. I cant dedicate a lot of time to training because I have to work, but if I could theres nothing seperating those guys riding wise from me”. My jaw hit the floor and I never forgot that. He really believes now that he has been working on technique and teaching people that skill wise hes at the top of the sport but just doesnt have the bike or training to put it in action, “but if he did hed be winning”. Smh.
Isn't this the same dude that was saying his daughter could win a supercross? or that a woman in general would ever win one? lmfao. silly
The funny thing about this is that a very, very good athlete in some other field might be deluded enough to say something like this.
But AJ was a "pro" moto rider for a decade FFS!😂 He did it! He did train for 5 (actually more) straight years and the results are available at the Racer X Vault.
And no, an HRC bike would not change the results.
Well, believing you can is certainly step one.
Also, talk is cheap.
So it turns out that Hunter is a troll.
I see the point he tryna make but it all comes down to whether u have the talent or u don’t , I kno some cats personally who took yrs off of boxing , basketball & football and today would still give these boiis the works & thts because god gave them tht natural talent , not everybody can be the top elites of their respective sport , its just the way it is
on a side note , u do have a small percentage in this world where 1 persons is just tht damn gifted , with proper training , he can go out & dominant. I can see somebody 1 day decide they wana be a pro dirt bike racer & with full commitment to perfect good technique on the bike , arm positioning , throttle control , 2 to 3 yrs of cardio fitness training, they can go out be ur RV’s , dunge’s , RC’s , Jett Lawrence’s , Eli tomac’s , Kenny roczen’s of the world
