I have the same problems on my Pixel, but it's not just this site. For some reason, the damn phone won't let me type "close." It always spells "clise," which is not a word, as far as I know. I don't know why it thinks that's appropriate to type.

I'm done with automatic shit. What happened to the good old days of computers doing EXACLTY what you told them, right or wrong? I prefer that.

In the other thread over at non moto it was suggested that we turn off auto correct on our Samsung devices.

Kinda sux if you like using autocorrect everywhere else and am just shutting it off to post on Vital. 😒

I thought this thread was gonna be about the super slow response times.

I've not had the autocorrect problem.

Different issue, but as Vital becomes more and more popular, the site takes longer and longer to load on all of my devices, both mobile and desktop.

Is the site using a Load Balancer?  Database cluster, sharding, or replication to multiple slave instances?  To lower costs, a load balancer can automatically vary the number of servers serving the site so that extra server instances are only deployed when there's a lot of traffic.

It takes a lot of users before database bottlenecks can no longer be solved by simply upgrading to a more powerful database server instance.  In parallel, if the website and database are running on the same server, separate them.  That's easy to implement, and will approximately double performance.

Anything beyond that requires some careful design.

It seems Vital has grown the point where this is going to be needed in the near, near future.

I've implemented this on a handful of projects.  I'm not looking for side work, but I'm more than happy to have a conversation, answer questions and suggest solutions that won't break the bank.

Man i really thought i was the only one with the typing issues … the best is when you are spelling the word correctly and then it changes it to a non word, then underlines it, and when you click it to change back it says no suggestions… like wtf you changed it from the correct word 😂🤦‍♂️🤨

Ughh, this (excellent) post made me flashback to my years as a DBA (database administrator)! I would think the slowness most likely comes from incorrect index implementation or the improper maintenance of the indexes for the database with a possibility of corruption.  From a transaction perspective, I wouldn't think this site would tax a good DBMS (database MGMT system) with a properly designed and implemented index scheme. The first thing I would ask (regarding slowness) is when was the last time the indexes were updated?  We often found this to be a problem when our systems slowed down.

Anyone else have text come out backwards while they're typing? I watch my fingers when I type, and a couple of times lately when I've looked up at the screen on my Mac Studio, everything was backwards. It's only happened on this site, and to the best of my knowledge, there's no keyboard shortcut I could have fat-fingered to make it do that.

IPhone 15 Pro on 300mbps+

This site has taken forever to load for a few months now.

I guess I'm the only one who clicks on my bookmark, and then when it's taking FOREVER to load, I'm thinking it's because some crazy industry news broke and everyone is flooding the site...

Was going to start a thread asking why this site is slower to load than a Pulp prepped ‘90 YZ125 but see I’m late to the gate…ML any word on the slow speeds?

Turning off predictive text seems to have helped a little but it still all goes to hell if i have to backspace or correct anything.

This is what it's like if i don't go through and correct my text. Looks like it just adds an extra letter for me and keeps it at the end.i

The words are spelt backwards or it reads from right to left? If it’s the latter, to return to Left to Right, press: Ctrl + Left Arrow +Shift.

They're spelled backwards, like looking in a mirror.

If it happens again, try that keyboard shortcut. It sounds like either the arrow key is sticky or it’s in right-to-left mode for like Arabic or Hebrew writing.

Ok give this man some of Darks money to fix the issues, I would feel money better spent instead of giving it to some to tell us I know things but can’t tell ya

What I hate is the page repositioning itself after a delay when you scroll…just when you think its done and you start reading, it starts jumping around like a cat on a hot stove, I presume to get the ads to position correctly.

Frustrating.
