I have a friend traveling to the race that has already had one delay due to airport systems being affected by the world-wide system shutdown 🫤
Hopefully any of you traveling make it; and hope all the racers, including Privateers are already on site!
Wife and kids were supposed to fly out FL this morning back to Chicago and just about every flight was cancelled. No computers to even give a refund or new timeframe for another flight. She found a flight out tonight but it’s already showing delayed.
I saw a post on Facebook that a bunch of the Star guys are stuck in Atlanta right now.
A coworker of mine is stuck at an airport and can't even buy food because their pay systems are down as well. What a mess.
Our school link to our state system is not working here at school.

It’s not just schools or airports, my mom works at Loma Linda in medical billing and some places she can’t call because some computers are down. Praying that everyone can get the flights they need to make it to the race on time.
My insurance company sites are all down today too. Banks had issues this morning also.
My dad and I are at SFO and our flight just got canceled. Found a new one from the Santa Rosa airport tonight so happy it looks like we’ll still be making it up there in time
It’s been a stressful day. I had a 5:25am flight from Tampa connecting through Atlanta and onto Portland. Should’ve landed in Portland at 10:45am. So I was up at 3:30am eastern time and got to my gate to find out what happened with everything. Delta couldn’t get me to Portland until 9:30am Saturday morning (which obviously doesn’t work for me) and that was to go to LAX tonight and spend the night there and then Portland Saturday morning. I told them no. So I booked a separate southwest flight at 2:00pm from Tampa connecting through Denver and getting to Portland at 7:20pm tonight. But there was a 9am southwest flight to Denver I got onto through standby and then I just got on another standby from Denver to Portland. So thankfully I’m making it there by 3pm. But it’s been a stressful long day already as if the travel from Florida to Portland wasn’t enough haha. But thankful I’m making it. Looks like a lot of guys are stuck all around different places. Hope everyone makes it. That’s just my story of the day haha
I spent a career in Tech... And know folks that worked at CrowdStrike. Talk about a Quality Assurance failure. Software updates should be tested before being pushed out to customers. Yes, you can't/won't catch everything. But this issue - computers shutting down - bluescreen - it's a flaw that would have shown up in basic testing. YIKES!
I saw a bunch of riders/industry stuck in Atlanta this morning, including myself. It is a massive mess. No Washougal for me, myself and 3 others rented a car and are driving back to Chicago. Just passed through Nash a little bit ago. Total debacle.

A boss who I absolutely hated was finally pushed out of our company and moved over to CrowdStrike this month to run a big portion of their sales.

Yep. I feel bad for whichever QA team was responsible for testing that change. Nightmare fuel. Or imagine someone messed up a pushed it early 🤢🤢🤢.
I work at a major software company. We had 100s of internal and customer-facing servers go down last night. Teams have spent all day trying to recover services and some are still not back. Crowdstrike might be out of business shortly. They are going to get sued into oblivion.
If there's any riders or team members stranded and absolutely needs to get to Washougal from the Western US shoot me a PM. I have access to a TBM 960 which would take 4-5 passengers comfortably with gear. The aircraft is based in CA.

My corporation had to do some scrambling to deliver our core business this morning, but the IT guys got it done.
Lots of guys stranded at the moment. I would be shocked if they all make it.

My wife flew from Madison Wisconsin thru Denver to San Diego today. Two hours late was all.
Imagine losing a red plate lead due not being able to fly in to a race due to stuff outside your control.
I wonder if MX Sports is taking any of this into consideration.

I saw Mathes tweet about this. All the guys fly out the day before the race? I would think they would want to get there a couple days early to settle in. I'm sure this is what they have done all their career and they're used to it though.
