Honestly I wanted to slap him on the tv screen😂

But dammit…I can’t wait to hear what he is going to say when the mics n front of him. If there is one rider who went down and had to sit out some races Deegan is the one I would miss the most. Love him or hate him the sport needs him as much as a Jett Lawrence/Chase Sexton/AP etc.

it’s a must to have varying personalities to keep things exciting. And that guys tenacity on the track is impressive! He must be working his ass off to get where he is. Not the natural talent line some riders but he makes up for it with his grit

As much as Brian likes to paint that broke kid from Nebraska story, it isn’t true at all. If you were there when he was an amateur coming up, he was the kid pulling up in a nice RV, with a great bike, etc. not that he didn’t work hard to get where he is, just that story isn’t true at all.

Real talk justin cooper used to roll up to the track 4 deep in a single cab truck from the 90s. Im not saying deegan didnt work for it but if your literally raised being put on a dirtbike from the time your a baby and are groomed to be a pro racer, the results better show

I can't wait for this Haiden Deegan to finish "another" championship in the 250f class this year, back them up next season, so he can be in the 450 class by age 20, and contending for wins outdoors immediately and possibly SX as well. He's got the drive. I'm liking him more and more each week. His family and team have to be so proud. He's progressed faster than most.

Star racing signs a lot of riders, and Haiden is proving he deserves his ride. Way to GO!!

He's not even my fave, because I typically pull for Kawasaki guys. And Texas or Iowa guys. But the more bitchin and whinin on Deegan, the more I'm pulling for him. Now, if Masterpool or McAdoo can beat him, I'm elated. Even Forkner.

But this outdoor season, with his dominating performances, .............& the 'crying'................Go Deeg's

Old Timers can't say they loved Hannah and not at least appreciate Deegan. Sure, he had resources most can only dream about, but that has often proved irrelevant at the highest level. Deegan is no joke on the track and quite frankly what this sport needs.

His actions and words don't match up. He tries extra hard to sound flippant, but you know some of this stuff burns him up inside. Best way to erode one's potential. Can he grow up or is he perpetually destined to stay on the level his dad's on? Either way, I'm here for it.

Let's see the level Brian Deegans on....

SX winner

multi time FMX  and X-games winner

star of numerous MX movies

champion driving trucks

created and owns an iconic MX brand

multi millionaire

happy and successful family

does whatever he wants, whenever he wants

People that actually know him, like him and respect him

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest, I would say your jealousy is about a 10.

He seems like a hybrid between Cooper Webb, Mike Alessi, and Jason Lawrence.  Believe the hype, finger pistols, and eat sh!t competition!

You want to call them both assholes, fine. He's no Jason Lawrence though. He's going to leave no stone unturned in his pro career and get everything he can out of every single drop of talent he has in his body. When we look back on Haiden Deegan's career many years from now we won't be saying, if only he had tried harder. If only he hadn't partied so much and focused more on being a champion

When you are in your 50s, an 18 year old is still a kid in the sense of youth. Can he go to war, vote and go to the joint as an adult? Sure...can he buy smokes and drink legally, no... he's 18, not a boy and not a man.

Especially when we're talking about professional mx racers. Who've all been home schooled and only known riding a dirt bike since they were children. We're not talking about mature men

I think it's fair to say most kids in Haiden's situation are a bit spoiled and have an arrogance to them, especially when they're the best 250 rider on the planet. We've seen this many times, give it some time and Haiden will chill out a bit, but he's never going to change his aggressive style and will to win, which makes the sport exciting. Just sit back and enjoy it instead of making a thread on vital about how your feelings are hurt by some teenager.

Im the guy that started to post....I love the new blood... I love aggressive riding and attitude and not the cookie cutter same ole same ole.  Deegan should respect that Tom ran it in on him because thats exactly what he would have done for the moto win. Talking down about Toms move is pretty hypocritical and a little brat move.   xoxoxoxo

Did anyone see the ridiculous wall jump Deegan was doing in qualifying? I read about it on RacerX - Race Day Feed - 250 Qualifying session 2.

Deegs has been told he's a "star" and that everyone loves him since the day he got on a bike. It's no surprise that he acts like an entitled little shit frequently because, well he is. That said, he's fast as hell so he can at least back it up. will be interesting to see how he responds the first time someone punts him into the cheap seats.

I don't get where the constant 'Entitled' crap comes in.  Yes, his parents gave him the best opportunity they could, but they didn't put in the work for him.  He did.  Don't tell me you wouldn't do the same for your kids.

Haiden puts in the work, and is reaping the benefits.  And, he talks like a competitive, take no shit 18 year old.

I'm a fan of Vialle too.  Different styles.  The same as it's always been in this sport.

Not entitled in because he grew up priveladged. I dont care at all about that.... But because his words and actions when someone does something he doesn't like....but if the shoe was on the other foot he would do it.

the deegans want to turn this into UFC style press conferences and promotion.

UFC and their athletes seem to do well for themselves

Honestly it’s probably pretty top heavy like Mx. the top 3 make a bunch. The top 10 do well and everyone else is fighting for scraps.

Bob loves Chic-fil-a chicken to the point he had some flown in somewhere he was at.

Founder Truett Cathy was a Hurricane fan after meeting him at an Atlanta SX. He would let Bob practice on his property when in town.

Bob would get factory Kawi rider Billy Liles, who lived in an Atlanta suburb, to swing by the Dwarf House near the airport. He would bring with him a huge box of chicken for Bob and friends when Bob was away from Atlanta. Billy said he checked it as luggage 🙂

Nobody have ever questioned Haidens grit or will to win.

But i expected a 18 year old that had a camera pointed to his face since he was 6 years old, grown up in the industry and has a dad that ”come from nothing” to be able to speak and act like a likeable person.

It’s hard to please everyone now days but i doubt that people had a hard time to like AC or Pastrana when they entered the scene.

Haiden has been groomed his whole life to be a professional, then act like one off track to and not just on track.

The punk ass kid style looks way better on some white trash kid that grew up in the middle of nowhere and just became newley rich because he turned out to be good at racing and can’t handle the fame.

Not a kid the grew up in Temecula wine country at a million dollar mansion with private tracks.

What are you most proud of in MX?

Bob Hannah:

“Not really the championships. I don’t look at championships or overall wins. I’m proud that I just got off my dead ass and really did it. You mentioned Saddleback. There’s a friend of mine who’s very rich. He had a very rich father. At that time, I looked and said, ‘Man, I wish my dad was rich like that, and had all that stuff, too.’ But if I would have had a millionaire father, I would have been a lazy bastard. And that’s a fact. I would have been ruined. It wasn’t like that. My father didn’t have any money.”

Me:

A lot of rich kids fall by the wayside. Not Haiden!
