Listening to the Spanish version of the broadcast has been a game changer.. I cant understand Spanish but anything to avoid Wills "nails on a chalkboard" and Ill do it..
I don't blame Will at all, she is there to do a job, and the director tells her when to speak.
Look - the Kentucky Derby, one of the most watched sporting events in America, is coming up soon.
The race itself is two minutes long, and when the horses and jockeys are on the track, NBC does not have a sideline reporter talking over the action by telling us what the jockey (or the horse) did during the week.
I'll say this one more time - Save the trivia talk for BEFORE or AFTER the actual race, not while the riders are battling!
Like my in laws fighting over who gets to tell the story over dinner. It’s ok to have some silence at times….
thats true.. broadcast is 100 % better this year with Weege in the box and for that im thankful. Weege is likable, passionate about the racing, well spoken and best of all he asks the questions needed to bring out RCs technical analysis.
If I had a magic lamp for 2024 one wish could be that the SuperMotocross video pass adds an extra commentary stream to go with the current two streams. The third stream would be geared towards the more passionate current fan and the original English stream can be geared towards attracting the newer more diverse race fans. When signing up for the new season us fans could select which version of the broadcast we want to subscribe to
1) Family friendly
2) Spanish
3) Experienced race fan
The third stream could cut costs and fill the space between races by leaving out the "science of supercross" and just cut to the press box to hear them bench race. Post race podcasts are pretty big these days so why not try bring some of that style conversation to fill time between races, bring in old pros and more in depth track walks between motos to look at how the track has broken down.

Vialle reminds of a young Peter Lorre.
Exactly! It's that kind of commentating that has me reaching for th mute button.
Stevie hittin the reefer.

I have several key phrases that Art Eckman and the MotorMouth came out with over the years saved on my ‘phone. I just watch muted and play these as appropriate:- so anytime there’s a close battle on I cue Art saying “ They’re going bar to bar, David Bailey”. Whenever someone is right behind another rider I cue Motormouths “ He’s on him like white on rice” etc, etc .
These current crop ? I’d rather do a Van Gogh and cut my ears off than listen to that godawful cacophony of crap .
I Will pay double to just hear the bikes with camera angles showing the speed. See what I did there ?🙃
so tired of silent machines Interrupted by what a rider said that is so standard rinse repeat. Set up by a generic question.
what do you feel you have to do to win this title?
blah blah stop doing this when bikes are on the track.
Motorsports are better when you hear the motor not people.
No doubt. When someone films from trackside it looks and sounds so much better. Like the raw videos.make that a package
I talked to the broadcast crew this week and they said that despite all the negative criticism they have received over the years they really feel like this weekend could be their best ever since each and every member has been working extremely hard to elevate their game and this week especially the crew had a breakthrough over lunch which was quite shocking as they feel like they have unlocked a new level that has not been shown in weeks past They even went as far as to say that you might notice some different camera angles used and they didn't want to go into detail but there is an idea floating around that they will use a unique picture in picture in picture format for the entire race This will give them the freedom to cover even more action in the back of the pack while spending less time showing the real race as it happens

Even though I do not speak or understand Spanish, it sounded way more exciting than the English version.
LMAO. You had me going....
It won’t get better till RC leaves. And he won’t be leaving. Because he’s the GOAT and the production team cannot grasp the fact that you don’t have to be a top former pro to be a great color commentator in the booth. It’s an entirely different skill set. I think RC was great on the floor and he’s great in his podcast with RV. That’s his bread and butter. Where he doesn’t have to be on the spot and call things as they go in a spontaneous fashion. Some guys just aren’t good at it. He’s not. If they would stop shrinking down the field of potential color commentators drastically with the apparent top former pro requirement, we’d have a lot of well spoken people who have an expert knowledge of the sport competing for that spot and the cream would rise to the top. Maybe a rider who raced Loretta’s a few times in the A class, but never quite was good enough to be a pro. They’re well spoken and talking to huge audiences comes easy to them. Just as an example.
The BEST way is to have a different former racer each week. Loved that when they did it for a while during the Nationals.
Bring in Bailey, Hannah, RJ, Ward, MC, Emig, JMart, AMart, Glover, Baggett, Jo Jo Keller, Chuck Sun, Carson Brown, Pastrana, Howerton, Henry, JMB, the list is long and would be great...
Pit Row
Dare I ask, who is in the booth tomorrow for Denver?
Might be my favorite actor of all time👍

Do yourself a favor ^
The same thread every week.
They don’t care. You are watching, so they are happy. The only power you have is to tune out. Don’t watch. Unsubscribe.
And if you don’t watch, there’s no need for the weekly bitching. Win, win.
Why do we need former racers in the booth? It's cruel, they actually look and sound like home schooled, multiple concussion, isolated from the mainstream individuals that they are.
I look forward to watching the races every week regardless of any imperfections in the broadcast. Watching Supercross live on TV is kind of like sex, even when it's bad it's still pretty good...
Not me.....I'm done. I'll just look up the results for the next two weeks only because I hope Coop can pull out a 3rd championship, Either way, he put up a hell of a fight this year when everyone wrote him off as they always have.
Supercross is dead....it's not just the broadcast, it's gone so far from the great sport it once was.
The sports in a bit of a predicament. With social media, if you miss the race live, the second you open up your phone you have almost better updates and takes by the second.
i watched football for the first time this year. No dumbing things down and tiptoeing around feelings. Just opinions and facts. Figure it out, take it or leave it
so a mechanic leaves the team? Can’t talk about that
Bike breaks? Nope swept under the rug
rider injured? We’ll hear about it in 6 months
but let’s get another report on the ruts while a battle is going on or hear about who worked on starts this week.
We need the broadcast to do real reporting and not just hit the wave tops. Demand the teams give real info because they have nothing to report on or work with
Sorry but tonight was maybe the worst for me. From throwing it down to WC every 2 laps to Diffey telling us knowing the Lawrence family no way Jett will pass his brother. LMAO
It’s so fking bad. They cram so much filler in, and then go back and talk about all the passes that were missed (heat race). And who tf decided to change camera from the brothers crossing the line to Webb limping around with a now ridiculous points gap. What a joke. For a broadcast so concerned with telling the story, tell me which is the better story in the last 30 seconds of the main.
You know what blows me away? So called moto fans concentrating so much on the commentary.
Me, I’m watching what’s happening on the track and live timing and scoring. I only notice what they’re saying here and there, so it’s no big deal, and I’m glad because you lot sound miserable!
During the 450 main, it was beyond obvious that Jett was controlling his own race from 2nd place.
He was ahead of Cooper.
He was more than content to stay behind his brother to ensure a 1-2 finish.
Until...
Jason, who Jett knows is riding better and better with each race.
Then you could plainly see Jett starting to set up his pass for the lead.
Oblivious to what's truly happening on track, too focused on the feel good script he was hoping would play out, motormouth diffy...
"There's no way he's going to pass his brother".
It's not easy to out do Carmichael for the stupid shit uttered in the booth.
But he managed to do it.
Proof that he's just a, fly in announcer.
Not the "core follower of the sport" people have tried to play him off as.
No better than shaheen.
Just a mouth.
Post a reply to: i had to mute broadcast again
