Chad's talk would have been more appropriate before, or between the mains.
i just wish they would let weege cover the race. how many times did we hear crowd go nuts tonite while they were fighting over who could explain a smoking bike???
Honestly, I didn't pay that much attention to the announcing because it was a struggle just to see what was happening on track because the camera work was so horrible.
Felt like the majority of the shots looked like they were taken from outer space, and a lot of the close up shots were pointed directly into the lights.
This is Daytona, where were the iconic side shots through the rythim lanes taken from the quad? And they've been using drones in the indoor stadiums but none this week?
In theory weege james and rc is a dream team and I love when those 2 legends talking about racing each other back in the day but I agree way too much talking but thats a problem in general. I wish they dont feel the need to talk every second and just observe for a minute. (But it doesnt matter who is in booth, its always like that)

RC definitely flows better when he isn’t the only SME in the booth. When it’s just him, it feels like he has to talk, but when James is there, they play well off of each other.
When has it ever been the case they keep the camera on the guy out front with the gap on the rest of the field, yeah maybe it was on Deegan because it's Deegan it doesn't change the fact that he was in a battle.
I used get annoyed when the camera wasn't on Stew or Vilo because of how many levels above they were compared to the field.
It's always been that way.
The whole broadcast is garbage . Its the worst of the neopotism in MX . The bro show MX approach is so freakin tired . Why the fuck am I looking at Chad Reeds face talking while the race is going on ? Is it possible for them to kiss Brian Deegans ass any more ? The whole thing is a freaking joke from beginning to end . Fire them all and bring in professionals .
Their era was the best..
and he was as good enough to beat them both many times..
I actually muted it because of how much they were tripping over every point they tried tO make, I couldn’t handle it anymore lol
Weege is a Professional..
RC is the weak link in that trio. Long winded question after long winded question to James that he’s then obligated to answer, all while missing actually calling the race. RC needs to get better at articulating his thoughts into a more bite sized comments or questions.
Weege IS a professional, and as the announcer his voice should be the one we primarily hear during a race. But, I think sometimes he defers too much to RC and/or James, so the commentating often goes off the rails Weege is really good at what he does and I think as he gets more experience in the supercross booth he will learn to take charge more. That said, I enjoyed it for the most part. On another note, Will Christian sure sounds like a broken record, though. JT is good.
Ricky carmichael another horrendous and embarrassing night. The guy trips and stumbles on words like a schizophrenic off his meds.
Carmichael just needs to go and Stewart needs to be in the booth. There were multiple times last night where Stewart gave us an analysis of a crash or a line choice that we never ever have gotten a single time from Carmichael. But since he’s the GOAT the job will be his as long as he wants. Pretty crazy.
Agree. James and RC bring out the best in each other. At the same time what they're saying barely registers to me. I'm too focused on the race. The constant complaining about the broadcast is lost on me.
I've never seen a positive comment from ya ever.
I mute the TV, turn the captions on, and play guitar. Get a good 3 hrs of playing/practice in.
True moto fans understand that RC brings little to the broadcast.. Drop him out and keep JS7 in and there will be a lot less complaints..
Pit Row
Another whiney post about the broadcast = fail.
I may be in the minority here but I'm over joyed to have the live coverage we now have. Maybe someday the whiners will realize there are worse things to get all wound up about than grumbling about the announcers. Props to RC and JS for spending some time in the booth with Weege.
Last nights broadcast was pretty damn good!
Now, track security at the end of…DURING THE END of the 450 Main?
That was THE EPIC FAIL of the night! 😂
The 3-man booth I could take or leave. I probably prefer two (Weege and Stew), but three isn't terrible for me.
What I do wish they'd do is stop cutting to Will and JT so much. If they insist on keeping both of them, which it seems that they do, then let Will handle the podium and let JT come in as necessary with breaking news from the track. Cut all the pre-recorded fluff pieces.
I thought this was one of the better broadcasts in recent memory. I really enjoyed it.
RC and Stew seemed to both relax a little bit and act a lot more natural. RC always seems so tense, and I get the impression that Stew is really holding back his personality. They had good chemistry last night. I enjoyed the banter with JT too actually. I sort of prefer the moto bro approach, instead of the extreme dumbing down we get sometimes.
I liked the way Weege stepped back instead of trying to dominate the broadcast like that British guy does. He felt more like the glue holding everything together instead of the main attraction.
RC was still long winded and has some of the weirdest phrases ever - so close to making sense, but so far away. Maybe he could back it off a little and make a little more room for Weege.
I also think the camera work had some REALLY bad moments, and the continual pushing of storylines is nauseating. I don't expect perfect camera work - it's a tough job. This broadcast seemed worst than most.
I'd like to see them rethink the "we MUST have storylines" approach though. Every rider out there, and every mechanic, is part of a great story. They don't really need to manufacture more stories.
Same with every interview or will rant.
"You people" who always bitch about the broadcast team must be some of the most miserable mofos on the internet. Have a great day!
