I think I'm completely buying in. I'm generally not an early adopter because I like some other schmuck to deal with the teething pains but from everything this week and hearing how the company is all in along with knowing the crew they have assembled I am sold. Triumph has set the bar for all new entries into the sport. The bar has been set high for Ducati. I still may not buy right away because I'd like to see the full line with all displacements and off-road models, but I see me buying a Triumph sooner rather than later.
So awesome with all the manufacturers we have now. These are the good ol' days.
They assembled quite the team to develop this bike. It looks very intriguing.
I am keeping a close eye on the 250 performance and durability while waiting for their 450 to debut. I've done my time with the Japanese and Austrian machines, I'm ready to try something different. Ducati has my eye as well.
I gotta say, bike looks good from the limited feedback yet out there. Not "revolutionary", but just damn good.
Early reviews: KTM power delivery, Honda ergos, Yamaha suspension, neutral handling, excellent finish and parts detail. How can anyone find fault with that?
It's literally a murderers row.
The more I think about it Kenny just won on a Suzuki that Ricky helped develop 10 years or so ago. We like to tease about the kickstarter but that has to speak to the soundness of the basic design.
Have to say I was dubious, but its looking very good from the initial reviews.
If they make a 450 that is as good as the 250 seems to be I'll probably end up getting one. I'll wait for some long term reviews first though.

They definitely did their homework and have come in with a bike that appears to be immediately level with others that have had years of development and a history in the sport. Haven't heard of any mechanical issues yet and the testers have come away impressed. What they've achieved is incredible.
I don't think it's an understatement to say they've got the other manufacturers firmly in their sights and I bet those others have watched the positive feedback with a lot of worry. A good first year with no issues and they'll be making huge inroads into the other brands' sales.
Is anything on the Triumph from China?
As soon as they build the 350 I’m in!!!
What if it is?
Just because something is made in China doesn't mean it's junk.
Chinese manufacturing when quality is a requisite is NO joke. It's a shame we let them take that from us
As for 1st year Triumph products. Mentioned this before, I purchased a completely redesigned Tiger 900 Rally Pro in 2020 (nothing carried over from the previous 800 they made). I've beaten the hell out of it for nearly 4 years now and have no problems (aside from me dumping it more than a few times and a whack on a cement culvert cracking my sump cover which is entirely on me....)
Triumphs build quality is top notch.
I will buy another when I wear the wheels off this one....
Probably. And all current mx manufacturers produce parts in China.
I'm surprised its getting such good reviews right off the bat. Triumph must be doing something right. It sounds like their quality is really good on these bikes. So maybe watch for current bikes quality to improve over the next couple years.
A BRG 350 4-stroke, and a 300cc 2 would be the ladies pearl!
I checked the 2-4 box, because I am not in the market for an MX bike. I will be checking out the offroad lineup as it becomes available. With everyone raving about the fit and finish and quality, it has my interest for sure.
It's still tough when you consider this and it comes with the tuning app: 2024 Yamaha YZ250F • $8,899
Triump sounds like it has better brakes, better top end, 3 ring piston with durability at the focus, lighter, hydraulic clutch, better ergos.
all that considered and within 1k?
Here's the thing, I'm not concerned about quality out of the box. First, this isn't a company that's new to making motorcycles. They know what it takes to manage quality throughout a complex supply chain. They know how to do durability testing. Second, I've had enough silly quality issues on my Japanese and Austrian bikes over the years that it's not like those bikes set the bar sky high. I don't have a reason to distrust Triumph more than others when Triumph goes to lengths like hand-welding their fames in-house compared to outsourcing it to China. Even if it makes little difference, it tells me how serious they are about investing in the quality of their product.
The sound alone makes me want one. As Keefer said, it sounds "racey".
Triumph please make a 350 xc .
I would love it if every brand made one. I've been on orange for a 350 for a while and would like to change it up, maybe blue or green.
I thought maybe Triumph used the 250f Austrian engine as a design base because it also gives them 350cc options.
One can dream...
Pit Row
If they make a 5 speed 450, i am in.
I’m on a Beta kick currently. If I wasn’t on a Beta kick I wouldn’t consider one until a few formal test it the press.
They will more than likely hold their own in a test.
If I was buying a 250F... yes. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like two strokes are coming down the pipeline.
It's not the most important, but to me, the overall looks are meh and bring nothing to the table, which is a shame since the bike seems very well built. I feel I've seen that bike 50 times before.
It lacks brand personality and desperately needs another color and a good graphic designer.
BTW, the military appreciation Triumph looked waaaaaay better...
I haven’t had a 250f in years but after watching the reviews I want one and I will for sure be getting the 450 in 2025.
Just the three ring piston made me think they are intent on overachieving.
My 2012 675r definitely came with a Chinese stator voltage regulator, cam chain tensioner caused a valve to hit the piston, new engine had exact same problems. The wiring harness in general is junk and the paint is really crap flaking off.
The connection between the stator and rlvoltge regulator caught on fire. I put a new engine due to cam chain tensioner and the new engine also had a small fire same reason
Front brake fluid resivoiur bolts will never come out.... ever. The plastic bolt in the radiator burp hole can handle about 3 ft/lbs before it crumbles. The bar end cap bolts are like a 3mm Allen head that took about 4ft/lbs before rounding out.
And this is the last year of this generation bike really been similar for 6 years before this same problems
Meh.. my feelings are that it’s ’just Another’, ‘same as the rest’ kinda bike.
I was hoping for something groundbreaking, I dunno what, but something different. As it stands, it’s no different to anything already out there.
im not rushing out to buy one. I’d still go buy the one I like the colour the most… and I’m afraid, that ain’t black.
I hear what you're saying but to be fair, we've been in a kind of 'refinement' stage for a good while because it's what works.
If they'd done anything truly radical either the complexity and price would have gotten out of hand entirely and/or people wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere near it.
While not ground breaking, a stable but great handling, torquey but revvy, Brembo braked and KYB suspended 250F is nothing to be sniffed at.
I’m digging that frame, and the fit and finish……Wow!! Lose the torx, and 350 me please.
Post a reply to: Triumph..... Okay, they got me hooked.
