I’ll admit I gave the OP an up vote.
I always hated racing in it, but I did when I was young. And I don’t enjoy watching muddy Supercross. I would much rather see them able to ride the track properly, rather than dog paddle around rolling the jumps. But maybe that would justify the cool kids calling it “Supy”  though

I agree, once it’s all in place, you can’t cancel it, but I do think they should change the schedule. Why do all of the first rounds need to be in CA anyway?

Now outdoors, it’s a different situation. But also outdoors, there is a natural base that can absorb the moisture, and it’s not all in a flat area, so there is runoff. Yes, I know they can still get terrible, but 1/2 an inch won’t destroy most outdoor tracks like it does the thin layer of dirt in the stadiums.

Feel free to call me a wimp. I’m tough enough to take it and old enough to not care!

Agreed.

I watched the first minutes of the first 250 heat.

That was all I needed to see.

It was going to be a night of plodding around, just surviving.

Then watched the start of the 450 main an hour ago.

Didn't even watch a full lap.

Not saying they shouldn't run the event.

Just saying it wasn't worth my time to watch it.

It's always going to be a crap shoot at the races without a roof, in a series run mostly in the winter, and early spring months.

The show must go on…. It’s a show… Feld not in the business of losing $….note to self: SX ..winter NorCal…. NG in open stadium…. I always thought mud riding was fun, it’s the clean up that sucks…

Complaining about to much mud at a dirt bike race on dirt. 🤔

Have these people ever raced locally when it rains.

Have they ever watched a GNCC. 🤷‍♂️

Mud races are needed every once in awhile to shake things up. Hopefully it knocked Jett’s confidence down a little. If it wasn’t for the mud. We were in for another Jett clinic.

I don't know about knocking his confidence down but I could see him being pissed and having a statement ride next week to right the ship

This is motocross not golf

No it's not. It's Supercross and it belongs in covered stadiums imo.

I'm curious, how much effect would the rain have had on the stadium attendance?

Crowds looked a little thin last night from what I saw on the TV.

You're using the " well that's the way it's always been done" argument to resist change. Let's, over time, move them to venues with covered stadiums. Make it happen Don Laughing

Do you think at a training facility any1 has ever said. We are building a new track next week. Let's flood this 1 today to practice a mud sx?

Yeah lets make a sloppy track so we have to rebuild the bikes and track after every test day lol.

Do u have issues reading? I said if they are building a new track the next week. So the current layout is ready to be ripped down and a new design built. So it wouldn't be rebuilding the track every day. It would be like 1 time a year when they are due to change it up anyway.

And what's rebuilding a bike to these factory guys? They prob do 90% of the stuff regularly anyway like how often would they be changing the chain, sprocket, wheel bearings, linkage bearings, clutch , brake pads etc.

No but maybe you do and others also as I gave you a up vote and my comment was clearly a joke agreeing with you.

Some take this forum so serious Laughing

Ratings in the past have proven its not good for TV, but it sure does shake up a championship.

One a season is plenty, though.

That’s a bullshit response. He has a legitimate point.

3 riders had their seasons wrecked last night because of weather and their bikes dying. Not because they fucked up. Mechanicals happen enough in normal conditions. Feld shouldn’t be compounding the probability.

Feld are morons for scheduling anything in San Fran/Oakland in January. Why we have to have 4 rounds in CA within 300 miles of each other is beyond me.

I guarantee if you did a poll with the fans they would rather see a normal condition SX race rather than watch a shit race like the one we saw last night. It’s like watching a D Class professional race as they can’t jump anything.

Curious what you did instead of watching the race? It’s cold AF here so not much else to do, I thought the race would be a snooze fest but it kept my attention 🤷‍♂️

Same here.

She and I went out back behind the cabin and got a hot fire going in the firepit. Sipped on some nice bourbon.

Racing in those conditions is trash and I could do with never watching another mud sx race like that. But turning it off? An unpredictable, shit show, that has a possible DNF written all over it? I'm more inclined to turn off the main if Jett holeshots. We know how that's going to end

Can't race dirt bikes because it's....dirty?  I can’t imagination that a fan of this sport could hold such a stupid opinion.

I thought it was great racing that was interesting to watch. But I’m not a pussy and I’ve raced in a lot of mud races so maybe my opinion doesn’t count.

That race was fuggin' awesome.  Anyone who has a problem with it is a bitter fan of someone who didn't do well.  I'm a Webb and Anderson fan, and I still loved every bit of it.  It was fun watching all the riders struggle and be "human".  It was also cool to watch one of the gnarliest mud Supercross races of all time, live.

If a team cant build a bike that will last 15 minutes, and a rider cant make it last 15 minutes, neither of them deserve a championship.

Vohland got called out for abusing the bike before it stopped, and Shimoda was a mechanical on lap 1, I hardly think that could be on him.

A lot of people learned something last night

Back in the day , here in the UK, we had a big race the day after a British Championship , and we had GP guys turn up to race, Paul Cooper's mechanic (who i knew) went through tech with the bike still dirty from the day before. ( not badly , but it hadnt been washed).

Said that if he couldnt build a bike that would run 2 days, he was in the wrong job.

I don't mind a good mudder here and there, seems to mix up the points and make things interesting.  Now with Jett Lawrence down in points, we'll get to see how he handles adversity and battles back.  Even though I'm a fan of Honda and the Lawrences, no way would I want to see Jett just run away and win every race.  As far as going to a Mudder to see in person, No F'in way, I'd rather be cozy on the couch watching, wrapped in my Blanky with a fire goin and a nice cup of Hot Chocolate with a shot of Booze in it.  Been to a rainy Supercross and didn't enjoy it.
