Justin Hill didn't get a fast lap in. He's out.

EDIT: Along with A-Rod. Two main event capable riders. I'm sure they both knew to get a lap because of the fear of 2nd qualifier being snuffed, but must have had problems. That sucks.

Ha the guys grasping at straws and complaining about Hunter being in group A qualifying 😂 I feel sorry for your miserable future.
Also he qualified top 10 last week, so group A this week is a nonissue.

I think it's a Jealously thing, Jett's had the greatest rookie start in the Premier class of AMA MX and SX racing, he's Australian, he's the fastest rider in History on the greatest factory bike ever created and all the Pit Tootsies love him.   Most of the guys who complain about Jett are probably chubby guys that eat a lot of Donuts, ride Kayo dirtbikes and can't get any phone numbers from the Hotties.

No different then any of the fans of dominant riders through the years. Blindly hating a kid is just as unbearable as propping him up like a god

As far back as 2011 I recall RV missed the main in one round.  I just checked - it was Jacksonville and guess what - he was in A qualifying the very next week.

If you’re really worried it took me about two minutes of my time.

One of my favorite things about this sport is the fan base. No matter who our favorite rider is we all come together for the love of the sport. Separates us from the ball sports. The Lawrence fan base are simply people who love dirt bike racing. The only miserable and intolerable fans are the ones hating, in my opinion. Everyone else is having a blast rooting for their guy. Ya'll need some thicker skin because these boys are gonna be here for a while. Enjoy the show! (and stop whining)

What is also overlooked is that they are both on Hondas.  A lot of folks out there do not like Hondas (I've been that way for 50 years).  I will never want a Honda to win no matter who is riding it...When they switch to another brand, I will root for them...Well, maybe not if they go to Yamaha! I will agree that they are at the top of the sport now and I don't think anyone is close to Jett at this time.

I don't mind the non-Americans as my mom is from outside the US and one of my aunts has lived in Australia for over 50 years.

I mean if it was about being fair.  The first round they should just draw names out of a hat to place riders in groups A, B, C. After round one it should just be by points standings.

But pro racing isn't usually about being fair.  And it really wouldn't change anything.

Exactly. I can't think of one good reason to hate him. I'm still riding my Tomac fandom until he retires, but Jett is one likeable young racer. You could say he's cocky, but shit, I was a cocky 20 year old and I definitely never went undefeated in a professional motocross season. Cut the dude some slack. I'm just stoked to have another huge talent on the big bikes! Both of em.

No one is making a point.  They are just making up stuff.

In any case there is no such rule.

Lol, well for me it has nothing to do with nationality. Spent 5 weeks in Australia with my best friend's family, beautiful country, lovely people. I think there's just some things about Jett specifically that has rubbed people in the wrong way. And for me, it culminated in the Ken wave-by and "bad maths". I cut him some slack, he's young, very talented and having an enormous amount of success very quickly, so the fact a little bit of it might've gotten to Jett's head, should surprise no one. I just hope he becomes a bit more like Hunter as he gets older, he strikes me as a pretty sincere guy. Let me be clear, I don't think Jett is a bad guy, I just think that like Haiden Deegan, he's gonna have a challenge overcoming his quick rise to superstardom and the things that come along with it, perhaps more so personally rather than on the track.

As to the American comment, personally I think I'd be as happy to see Prado win as any rider, and the clip on his family made me an instant fan. The American Deegan family didn't have *quite* the same effect on me.. 🙃

Brand loyalty is the only excuse I'll accept. Lol. And even then, don't hate the rider, just root for them to not win! It's ok to want someone else to win and to also not be a douchebag and hate a kid for being good.

This is devolving quickly, but exactly what makes the Lawrences super appealing for Feld, MX Sports and NBC to help bring new viewers to the sport is exactly what the die-hard old time race fans don't want. So there's always going to be hate. I think back to when Tomac first went pro, we had a few stories about his famous dad but we didn't have it rammed down our throats. But when Eli went pro we had big personalities and rivalries like James and Chad still in their prime.

Last year, both Jett and Hunter were 250 SX and they got a lot of broadcast attention and promo attention. Now both in the premiere class, it's ratcheted up. Some of it is attributable to the sheer lack of personality from a lot of the top 450 guys (outside of Ken and AP). Most of them came up as kids in the 250 class when it was "just read the pit board on the podium mentality" and their personalities were never taken on by the fans. The sport is ripe for Jett and Hunter.

Is it convenient? Or is it because it just isn’t fact? Common sense tells me the latter. Quit making things up.

Betting line on a Beta surviving tonight?

Why wouldn't they?

They had a lot of mechanical issues last weekend. I'm not sure the addition of mud is going to improve that.

Same with the Yamaha for Phil eh?

I absolutely agree with everything you said. All of it. I just think we should be more critical of the media than the riders of the name saturation is the real issue.

But like you said, there's only so many 450 riders that make for good TV. Like, 5, 6? AP, Barcia, Roczen to an extent, Malcom, and the Lawrence bros. Even Tomac, who is still my fave, is a pretty boring TV spot.

I welcome more personalities in the sport. We need it. Even better if they're absolutely crushing it results wise.

No reigning SX or MX champion should ever be anywhere but in the A practice… period.

on a side note, how about old Vinny Take-Out qualifying 20th with bad shoulder???

Club has been around the paddock for several years and what happened to Phil’s bike was super rare (bad injector). Beta has a completely new team of personnel, all of which have never been involved in SX before. They apparently had a laundry list of issues at A1 so adding mud to the mix on an unproven/sorted bike isn’t ideal.

Beta will take the small wins as they come but there will be a lot of bike issues along the way. This unfortunately means fans will use them as a punching bag.
