Good to know. Will be taking ear plugs to Philly just in case. It seems like this is getting more common these days. Concerts are so loud you can’t even hear the singing. It’s like they think if it’s louder you’ll enjoy it more.

I have sensitive hearing so fireworks without ear protection has always not been the best experience. I wore both airpods pros in opening ceremonies and only one in the night show.

For the people saying it was too loud, what level were you on?  Maybe there's a level we all need to stay away from.

To be honest the whole stadium was unbearably loud. I think the only escape would have been a luxury suite.

That 12 year old girl singing the National Anthem was very impressive

During qualifying while sitting in the stands I noticed lots of grey haired dudes, say 45 to 65, and thought damn, without us die hards (no grey hair but 55 y/o) there wouldn’t be many people here. Young crowd 30 and under didn’t seem to show up until later. I did notice the increased sound levels, track announcing, dj and Lurch but not enough to worry about. Found it funny you could only hear Stankdogs 250 2T only when he was directly in front of you.

Well, this is a bummer to hear.  Hopefully ML512 can get in touch with the broadcast team and let them know this was a problem.  I was planning on going to A2 so it sounds like I'll be bringing earplugs.

Nothing worse than being in a nightclub so loud you can't even hear other's yelling in your ear.  Not what I want to experience at a Supercross race.

301 was insanely loud. I’ve never had that issue at Anaheim, I could hardly even talk to the person next to me

Keep this in mind for local tracks too: We only hear the loudest sounds. If the PA system is supposed to be heard, then it must be even louder than the bikes. The PA system can contribute to local tracks' noise problems also.

I wasn't there, but stadium amplification is typically hard to understand and just difficult to get right. If Feld wants the emcee to be heard on the first lap, and the audio is too loud, then the bikes are too loud.

they decided on a strategy to make electric race bikes appealing with no sound and were testing it out.

The funny thing is the person/people setting the sound levels are always wearing headsets.  If they surveyed all of the attendees then 98% would want lower volume.  One of the biggest disconnects between customer and production you could find.  It’s too loud at all the races if you want to see/hear the race.

The sound level was definitely louder this year, I've been going to the races since 86. That announcer screaming was driving me nuts.

Ditto. I’ve lost a lot of hearing over the years and that shit was even loud to me. Ridiculously loud.

But seriously, they turned the audio wayyyy up. It’s funny because everyone has always complained you can’t hear the announcers during the race. Now you can hear them and everyone is complaining that they’re too loud.

The majority isn’t complaining, you can’t hear them. It’s just garbled noise and it’s pointless. We don’t even need him to talk during the race.

Same outdoors too ..

Last August @ Ironman the PA was pegged at 11 .. All. Day. Long.

A constant, punishing barrage of bad '80's hair metal punctuated by non-stop yelling from whomever was doing the announcing.   When you buy a ticket you get a couple months free subscription to RacerX, at the end of that period Davey C sends an email in an attempt to get you to subscribe.  I replied telling Davey that I'd purchase a LIFETIME SUBSCRIPTION if he'd arrange to have that obnoxious PA turned off for just that one event ... never again Mr. Coombs, it was that bad, & the hell of it is ; he surely knows better.

MX Sports ; please find a method by which you are successful in removing your collective heads from posterior.

What's the point of sound testing the motorcycles if the speakers are going to be turned up to 11?

I must be getting old too then!  (37).  I went to the arenacross lastnight in Loveland, CO and it was the same way.  I didn't take ear plugs, never have but I went and stuck paper towels in my ears to help with the obnoxious speaker at the event, he was overwhelming the sounds of race bikes and thats loud!

I wasn’t there (obviously), but I just watched Deano’s latest choob…holy shit, you guys aren’t exaggerating at all! The announcers were all I could hear every time his wife was recording him on the track. That was ridiculous.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one that can’t stand the strip-club DJ screaming all night.

That is exactly what it sounded like! (not that I have ever been to a strip club though....) lol

Been to Anaheim for a good number of races over the years,  I got where I would bring earplugs it was so bad.    If OP says it's the worst it's ever been, I can only imagine how much worse it was than I have experienced.

They're really is no need for that crap.

Heh....just wait until the sport goes electric.   Have fun with that shit.

The sound testing isn't about "sound",   it's just another anti-offroad restriction.

Ever been to a Monster Truck show?  (Took my nephew once, he hated it more than I did)....the sound is way louder than bikes.

I wasn't there but I definitely noticed it watching Deano's Vlog about his weekend in the footage his wife shot from the stands.

Same. Took my 6 year old to arenacross this year and he didn’t care for the screaming announcer and loud music. We couldn’t talk to each other during the races at all. Kind of a bummer.

It must be a pandemic of LOUD stadium noise to OBNOXIOUS LEVELS.  Been a Phoenix Suns ticket holder for over three decades and the last few years have been awful as far as noise levels.  I have real bad Tinnitus for 20 years caused from scuba diving of all things and I cannot go in there without ear plugs.

If I forget them I make a run to get some toilet paper as alternatives.

Cannot explain why but the stadium was renovated a few years ago and they have a whole new sound system and giant video screens so maybe they think they want to get their money's worth?🙄😬🤬

They have a DJ in there and 90% of the music I cannot stand yes it shows my age (65)  but I don't go to watch basketball games to have my seat vibrating like I was in some kind of rap/crap concert.

Steve Kerr coach of the Golden State Warriors even made a comment about it recently.

That " Nightclub LOUD MUSIC shouldn't be at a basketball game when your trying to call plays" and he was ridiculed but I agree with him.
