Either way, it's pretty shitty for them to put "costs" in front of rider safety when they have run their mouths about being a "World Championship"

Have they paid all the Teams and riders what they were owed from the first round yet?

I know this has been argued many times, but wouldn't it be safer if there were no tough blocks?  IMO they cause more harm than good.  How many riders last year in supercross clipped or landed on one causing a crash that otherwise would not have happened?  I don't the exact number, I but I am certain it was more than 2 or 3....   Every once in a while someone crashes and lands on one and it prevents a worse injury, but I think that is the exception

I believe the tough blocks primary purpose is to keep riders from crossing into the oncoming lane.

Most people only see a rider hit a tough block and crash without realizing in many situations it kept the rider from a head on collision.

Just my opinion.

Well there ya go, you can start a inflatable tough block company and you will get rich. Cool

I'm not excusing WSX of doing a shitty job with the series, but given the original schedule released, the logistics of taking foam blocks around the world just doesn't add up. Alot of these countries dont even have many tractor-trailers, most stuff is trucked by cab-over box trucks.

Printed cardboard over locally sourced hay bales would have been a good compromise.

I doubt the horses at all these stables are grazing in pastures.

They get a large majority of their horse feed from irrigated farms in Arizona. It’s become a bit of a hot button of late with water scarcity and such.

Is the only way to watch this on WSX TV?  Is the stream solid and able to watch as a replay?

I was trying to figure out how to watch yesterday as well.  I know I have watched WSX before, but forgot how as it has been so long.  For those with cable in the US, it will be on FS1 on Sunday.

Pretty sure no bikes will be stolen from the paddock at this one.

I did notice on their IG that Langston was listed as race announcer, thought that was strange.

Actually, AirProtek works mainly with foam blocks for SX these days... Capture d%E2%80%99e%CC%81cran 2023-11-03 a%CC%80 14.26.36The racers complained a lot about bouncing back on the inflatable ones... They'd need a pressure realease system when a shock happened... And then you'd have to inflate them again...

Fro didn't step away – he was clipped, as was Ralph.

Clearly WSX is doing better financially now than they were before..... what else they have to clip to piece this weekend together?

They replaced Fro and Ralph with Langston and Malin so I don't exactly think this is the canary in the coal mine.

Even Langston, 1 of the top 2 commentators of this sport's history, can't save WSX. Langston and Weigant are the best motocross commentating team this world has ever seen.

"Some epic carnage" LMAO

It's a shame Friese is even allowed to race any kind of championship still.

Imagine being a team that gets fined if your rider is hurt and can't race, yet they aim toward "carnage".

I've been optimistic about this series but they're making it more and more difficult to find anything positive to say.

They were clipped likely because it was terrible.  That duo was not good before in SX and even worse in WSX.  Essentially knew nothing about the Teams and sounded like an ad campaign.  Langston and Malin should be far better

Interesting angle for sure. Advertise the lack of floor space for a full gate as a new feature that will produce “epic carnage”. I’d sure hate to have great racing get in the way of EPIC CARNAGE!

They mentioned "World Supercross Championship" at least 200 times during the first broadcast. I don't know if they were supposed to.. but it was horrible, specially how Ralph tried to point out over and over that these are the best riders in the business. I think Emig is solid, but I don't understand how people have any symapthy for Ralph as an announcer. He is out of touch with the riders and running orders, he constantly messes up final laps/checkered flags, he repeats the same stuff over and over. There is definitely more to it than just having a recognizable voice.

Rider comments from practice 1 are not exactly confidence inspiring.
