Sure he can race here and there at the age of 37 and make a few dollars but that ain't going to cut it.

He wasted his talent and therefor he never earned millions...now its time to work like the rest of us folk......but....he ain't going to do that....and it can't end well.

But doing well in AX and getting his name out there in a good light, may just lead to something that can bring in that weekly paycheck...

I agree but he is 37 yrs old. With his reputation can he de- throne legit ambassadors like Villo, Jeremy, Emig and the rest of them?

He already had his name out there with a Pro Championship and he fucked that up. Sadly, doing well in AX means fuckall....

I mean possibly in the AX world, they need ambassadors, pit/track announcers, goggle reps, tire reps. Maybe he can fill one of those rolls if the opportunity came up and he is in a good place? But maybe he doesn't have the personality for a shaking hands/kissing babies just yet.

I just think if he is trying to put a good foot forward, and someone let him audition for ride, and now he's here, its in his court what he does with the opportunity.

I mean he is the original J-Law, let him ride! Cool

I've always been curious, what does the guy do for money to survive? Retired from racing 13 years ago and doesn't seem like he's ever had a job.

I'd like to ask, all you JL ball garglers..nut huggers or whatever you call yourselves, who think Lawrence deserves anything from the industry, why don't you guys start a Go- fund- him and donate so that he never has to work again...let him live a good life and ride when he feels like it.....all on your dime.

That's basically what Lawrence is doing...

Exactly my point. At 37 he "comes out of retirement "....milks a few sponsors and then disappears again. ..

He can definitely clear laps about as fast as anyone on ax. Do I see him actually showing up to more than one round? No. Jlaw is going through a midlife crises and doesn't know what to do anymore. Will someone give him an industry job before he has apply at an amazon factory? Jury still out

37 is midlife?

Right. I’m 38, my days are about up. Had my mid life crisis in my late 20’s

Mm its not though? Point me to where JL has asked fans for money? He is riding for a team to do one off races and I seriously doubt hes making much money doing so. It sounds like he lives a simple life living in a trailer and doesnt have many expenses lol hes not raking in hundreds of thousands of dollars doing this lol.

What I CAN point you to is about 10 CURRENT PRO riders who routinely post on instagram asking for "sponsors" and people to pay for them to get to the track every week. I have a way bigger issue with guys trying to do this as a career and can't figure out how to manage their finances properly when guys like Starling and Cade are making $100k a year lol.

I'm not a fan of his and never was actually, I always thought he was a cocky kid, with no respect for others. But you can't deny his ability to ride a dirt bike. He came in 2nd at a GNCC race which opened some eyes and now apparently has an AX ride, so he still has some skills on a bike. Him being in the series will probably fill some seats cause lets face it, he's like an accident on the highway, and everyone will stop to stare.

And although I'm not a fan I'm also not a hater, so I believe in letting him work for what he can in life and if that's an opportunity to be a good person, so be it.

Compare people in their 30-40 in the 70s, to people now in their 40-50, big difference.

The casual fan doesn't have the foggiest idea who he is, so this leading into some sort of industry segway seems unlikely.

Nothing wrong with lining up to race though.

Phoenix Honda will grow their social media platform and presence with DF and JLaw. Very clever business as long as they can keep JLaw on the straight and narrow. I think it was worth the risk for the extra sponsorship revenue they stand to gain. The endless JLaw instabangers all offseason will stoke the sponsorship and follow ship fire regardless if JLaw makes rd1 or not

He has posted stories wearing a construction hi-vis before

he is mellow in the world of dirt work so I could see that fit

I’m not knocking him so don’t take it that way but he took 2nd in the industry class and 33rd overall in the morning race. Either you don’t know anything about the GNCCs or you’re making it out to be something it’s not. A bunch of people in the Sportsman, Schoolboy and women’s class beat him in the overall. He didn’t race against the men’s pro classes, A classes or even B classes. Those classes race in the afternoon for 3+ hours.

He did very well for his first time and I’m betting he was the most popular rider in the pits. But don’t act like he did something spectacular like racing the pro class and finishing second.

He made a pile between his monster deal and his  championship. Sepcovik took good care of him.

It seems like it will be a challenge for him to jump up today's AX intensity, reflexes etc. but this is better than a wall of silence from the dude.

And Weege, I love ya man, but your videos give me motion sickness.

Correct, I do not know anything about GNCC, I just read he got 2nd in the class he entered (Industry class).

Which sounded ok to me for the first race in over a decade, but again I'm neither a fan or a hater but thought it must have been ok if it got him a spot on an AX team.
