Don’t know about the UFC guys being tough. Most of them seem to get slapped about by a couple if Youtube influencers when it comes to throwing punches. It’s all that time spent cuddling each other on the ground that must do it during UFC fights.

You know how fast local pros will utterly destroy you on a motocross track? Trained mma fighters would wreck your shit. Now step that up a level from trained mma fighters to UFC fighters. They could literally murder you with their hands. Holy cow what a bad take.

Yeah my stepson is into all this "crossover" boxing now . I've watched a couple of the pay per views with him , he pays , and I don't get it . I was a big boxing fan in the 80s into the early 90s and this doesn't resemble that . I've lost touch with it . I went ahead and googled professional boxing and on the espn site all this shit is at the top . Is this what pro boxing has become ?

There's still some good stuff. Watched Canelo vs Jermell Charlo a couple of weeks back, Tim Tszuy vs Brian Mendoza last weekend. That other stuff is an absolute clown show.

And to stay on topic, there's a guy that fights in the UFC from a town about 45 minutes south of me named Jamie Mullarkey and his coach, Ross Pearson, is a former MMA/UFC fighter from England that lives here now.

This is in his from his Wiki page...😁

There are more that I can't think of right now. Also, OC Scottie loved watching the UFC fights. He always had multiple sports playing at the same time on Saturdays.😂😔 Miss him heaps.

With Dana White and Pastrana teaming up, expect to see more dirt bikes and MMA intertwining.

White is Monster claw'd out, treats/pays his athletes like shit, and he owns a slapping league.

Feld is a natural fit.

Bread and circus for the masses.

NOTHING mentioned will trump snapping your leg in half, then entering a gate of the best of the best,on the circuits gnarliest sand track, not forgetting it's moto 2,and riding that bitch into the first turn.

ufc fighters, you name it...legs broken and they are getting carted away.

You simply can't tell me of something more hardcore in this sport.

Dungey raced with a broken neck at Thunder Valley. Crashed and charged his way back from 19th to 4th.

He went 2-4 for 2nd overall.

Oh no doubt, all the respect in the world for that one but while a cracked vertebrae is extremely painful, you'd barely have known.

Smacked his lever back into place with all of his lower extremities still working perfectly, not knowing it was broken and away he went.

Ryno,on the other hand...knew full well he was going into knee deep sand ruts with a broken leg and duct taped it together.

Ryan Dungey and Ryan Hughes are miles apart when it comes to tough.

I'll throw my vote in the ring.           Gotta be Coop...

Example:  He was racing the next weekend after this brutal crash.   So many more instances of him manning up.

If there's a human tougher than Doug Henry I would be frightened of him.

I don't doubt he doesn't want to be thought of that way,  which makes him even tougher.

I have so much respect for him.

I’ve always thought it was really cool that Islam rides. It’s very unfortunate that a large portion of MMA fans hate the guy simply because of where he is from.

Mikkola 1934 Carlsbad.jpg?VersionId=HpciThThey are all tough.

So many riders I could put up, but, I have this picture of Mikkola at  the  (84?) Carlsbad USGP.

I thought I had the picture from MXA of him walking through the Pits at Carlsbad, pale as a Ghost, in nothing but his jocks (and, I think Clogs on his feet), with what I think was a Lennox Hill Knee Brace on - probably the only worthwhile brace you could get before the advent of CTIs. But, I can't find it in my files .

All with his 'Death Stare' towards the camera, as this one has - like a Wolf about to go for your throat. . I think the caption of the photo read something about his fearsomeness  / intimidating presence, even when walking around almost naked.

Sisu Personified.

Toby Price racing and winning the 15 day long Dakar Rally with a broken wrist is more hardcore.

Ryno raced 30 minutes, Tobs raced 8 hours a day for 2 weeks.

Pretty sure its Chad Reed. Dude rode when he was hurt a lot, and never complained about it. Do we have to bring up the Millville Chad-a-pult again?

Maybe because he'd used up his complaint quota from whining about whatever bike he was on at the time?

Wink

Pfft...Toby broke his wrist 4 weeks before the Dakar...not mentioning the other 39 guys that weren't around him at every turn...riding through the desert, braced with every other thing factory ktm could throw at it for 4 weeks prior aswell as the day of the race.

Keep trying buddy!

Well, the answer is easy. We sadly live in a world where it's all about social media followers.

Now when it comes to this new trendy "crossover" boxing, those youtubers and influencers get paid based on their followers and promotion. They get a base purse for their fight, let's say 250k. On top of that they get 5-10% of the pay per view money from Dazn for example. They don't even have to fight good. Create a lot of fake drama with your opponent on social media, let it build up a couple months prior to that fight and then those guys can make millions. I'm talking 7-8 figures.

There is no real loser in these fights. People that pay for this kind of circus are the real losers.

Obviously UFC is also about promotion. The big difference, these are the best fighters in the world, trained killers. They have to work and fight their way up and their contract money increases with population and with the amount of fights they win.

Thats how our elections will be in the not so distance future. Lol

We are so close to idioracy is so many aspects its funny if not scary.

Oh.....so you're saying Ryno was battling 39 guys in every turn?  Give me a break....

Tobs did break his wrist 4 weeks before, then he crashed a few days before doing final shake down, fucking up his wrist again.... and still won the biggest and most important off road race in the world.

If you want to compare Ryno riding 30 minutes to Toby racing for 2 weeks, go right ahead....you know what they say...."You can't fix stupid"
