Jeff led the Unadilla National.  We were at that race and he was looking really good out front but going downhill leading into the back section (right turn) he went wide off the course and crashed pretty hard on his CRF450.

I don't remember the exact year I think it was probably six years ago.

Very sad to hear about Jeff's passing he seemed like a good kid.

My condolences to his friends and family. I have a couple of friends who have lost their children and I can't even imagine what that would be like....😢

I cant remember where or when it was but I remember him passing his brother at a 250 sx race in a heat race. Its always stuck with me because I thought to myself, "Damn! Jeff is going fast! Looking smooth yet aggressive". As is the case it seems when a rider breaks through to the next level of speed they get hurt. Broke his foot I think? Then he never got his full speed back.

Kid seemed like he had a kind heart. So sorry to the family.

This is not the time or place for speculation on his passing, it's for people to pass on their messages and mourning.

God this sucks...

RIP Jeff.

When I saw this thread I thought surely this is some cruel joke that someone is playing and ML or the other mods hadn’t cleaned it up yet.  After reading a few posts, realized it was true.  Just can’t believe it !  Way, way too young.

RIP Jeff ……. and heartfelt condolences to the entire Alessi family.

I thought Jeffs foot damage came from the US Open on 80's and he wasnt quite the same after that. Always had flashes of speed but due to his foot/feet couldnt be consistently as fast.

I feel terrible for Tony.  I first met him when we raced the same class back in the day. He would have both Mike and Jeff with him every weekend at the track. Jeff was still only like 2 years old.

Unbelievable... Godspeed Jeff Alessi

You look to be a grown man, with children nonetheless, and you still lack the perspective and consideration to NOT just be a sarcastic jackass in this thread? Wow.

Huge bummer. I know a lot of people here are going to immediately think of some of the bad choices he had made in his past, but anyone who has run into him within the last few years knows he was a nice person. I bumped into him multiple times at Glen Helen while he was there coaching kids on minis and he was always awesome to the kids, the parents, and to me. RIP

That was my same experience, he was always super nice at Comp Edge and Glen Helen.

Yes. I can't ask a question trying to clarify what they're saying? We're all curious as to how it happened. Someone said in short "his demons won" and I guess in this sensitive world I should've said "can you please clarify what you mean by that?" But instead I simply asked "was it suicide?" And it gets deleted. I can't ask a question? Thats not being disrespectful

I just don't see it necessary for ML to be swinging his big dick around threatening to ban people when nobody at all was being disrespectful and were simply asking questions when we're ALL curious

Worked with Jeff a little bit when he had his last ride on KTM 250s...the kid could barely walk the track during track walk...but, man...he could still ride!

Stoked to have spent time with him.

He will be missed.

You're an immature clown. Period. You ARE being disrespectful. When 99.9% of people in this thread agree, maybe wake up and realize you are the issue instead of continuing.

Always came across like a decent dude on here. Good reminder how talking to people can often show they're way different to what you've heard about them or what you see them made out to be from stuff they've done in the past.

Bad news all round, RIP.

I met Jeff at Loretta's in 2004 and he was polite and articulate. He had a group of kids following him around. Very sad news.

Your lack of self awareness is pretty astonishing. Maybe a break from here would do you good.
