Enclosed trailer for moto

Some of you guys are really neat and organized.  My shit would look like a bomb went off…..surely I’m not the only one lol.

For what it's worth, here is my 5x10. I have had the 24' race trailers, but since we quit racing a few years ago I just wanted something small that didn't take up a lot of space. It is mainly used at out of town rides for a secure place to keep the bikes while in the hotel.

I built the cabinet in the front and wired it for 120vac. I have 1 - 4' light at the front and a duplex at the back for fans etc. I also included heavy enough wiring to run my portable AC on those hot days. The chocks at the front are the removeable chocks from RMATVMC. The mounts are flat on the floor if I need to use the trailer for something else.

Will hold 2 full size bikes, gear bags and a couple fuel jugs. Its tight but keeps everything dry and secure.

Just got my 7x14 that I ordered insulated and a window in each side. Plus one in the door. Risk racing locknload are worth every penny! Just need to figure out flooring and cabinets.

Went from a toyhauler to an overhead camper and enclosed trailer. I couldn't find a trailer I liked so wound up going to Carson trailers in Beaumont and custom ordered one. They have lots of options. My list was,

7 X 10 with the wheel wells inside. 7 feet wide because it's a foot narrower than the camper for ease of towing, wheel wells inside to maximize space. I didn't want an 8 foot wide trailer that only has 7 feet of interior space.

6'8" overall height so it fits in the garage.

Side doors on both sides. Easier to load and unload . Bonus was it stays a lot cooler in there with all 3 doors open so the wind can blow through.

50 gallon water tank with an rv water pump and hose bib. The tank lays flat under the floor. We can dry camp for 5 or 6 days, use the pressure washer without worrying about running out of water etc.

Trailer brakes. The trailer only has 1 axle and isn't that heavy but we go up (and down) nine mile road to get to Kennedy meadows, up to Big Bear etc. I didn't want to stress on long steep down hills. 

They come standard in white but I paid extra for blue to match our truck (and be different) Plus at that point we were spending enough we just said fuck it we want it blue lets get it blue, no sense getting cheap at this point lol. The roof is white, so theoretically stays cooler than if it were dark. 

It's small but it'll hold 3 bikes and our large cooler, gearbags, camp stuff, truck and trailer spare tires, bbq dog shit shovel chairs tools firewood and all the other assorted crap we bring on a long trip. I used standard wheel chocks and flush mount D ring hooks in the floor. It's a little tight sometimes and ducking to load and unload can be a pain but everything fits. Race days are easy, there's plenty of room  I hardly notice it behind the camper. I was always cooked after driving our 10K plus pound 29' tow behind weekend warrior. This set up is pretty much just like driving a truck, way way way easier than the gigantor trailer. I'm a fan of small enclosed trailers. everything is dry and secure (compared a regular bike trailer or the back of my truck)  It fits on the side of my house too which is bonus. Trailer storage was 175 and going up when I sold the toyhauler. Sorry for the long post, 

I went with a 6x12 wish I would have went bigger now but at the time it’s what worked for me.  Painted the walls, bed lined the floor, fabbed a frame at the front with an end box and table above it.  

As much as I’d love a Sprinter for overnight trips to tracks, this is probably a better idea. You don’t own a depreciating asset, and you get to drive a normal truck around town when you’re not using it. Sure, Sprinter is probably nicer to drive than towing a trailer, but that’s the only downside. 

I want another van but I can't justify spending the money when I have a 6x12 trailer that's paid for and probably won't depreciate much.

I have the same pressure washer,  great little unit.  

Question for anyone.

Had any one put mounts into the beams in side to clip a hammock to? With it just being one beam on each side work about bending the beam.  I thought about just running a piece of X track across 2 beams to distribute the weight or pulling a panel out and running a cross member between two beams as I'm trying to keep my walls free of x track.

I think you would be fine to just go into a stud on each side. The metal studs are pretty strong. 

Downside to Sprinter - stupid $$$ and dealing with Mercedes.

Downside to trailer and 1/2 ton truck - 10mpg basically at all times and limited to 55 mph at all times in CA.

Can someone post a pic of an enclosed trailer that’s not immaculate……….maybe a little mess and things thrown around.  You guys are making some of us look bad!

recently bought it (8.5x20) and decided I want a 7x16 for ease of towing around, so haven’t set it up yet.

I don't know where you guys live but when it's 110+ around here and it's 140 in that trailer...you better have some a/c or it's just for hauling...not working in.

Insulation and a fan in mine is usually cooler then under the pop up where the bikes sit under.

Those weed sprayers are great for showers. We don't have the V nose trailer and always had one of those mounted on the front of the trailer. The rule was only the girls get to shower inside the motorhome. And if you showered after your last afternoon ride the sun warmed up the water real nice. Just enough to be comfortable and still refreshing. I think ours was somewhere around 20 gal.

Mini splits and window AC's look awful on trailers though. A RTU installed correctly looks clean, can be ducted, and shouldn't leak for at least a couple of decades.

I know most people paint the walls, I wrapped mine in fabric. It was pretty cheap to do with only the cost of the fabric and 3M adhesive spray. I can still remove each panel to get into the walls for maintenance and it looks factory fresh.

Not dirt holding yet but I hadn't had it opened up completely on a dusty day. I'm kinda mad obsessive about keeping things clean and keeping bugs out so the doors stay closed. I had one spot that my boots rubbed against but it cleaned up with a soapy cloth.

It's a shower. Nautilus door should be here this week. I can fit two bikes in it. I have a sofa sleeper in it also but the next project will be a pull down bed on gas struts. Let me know if you've got any more questions.

Trailers are so thieve-a-ble.  Don't advertise the contents with MX/race graphics.  Septic tank cleaning service graphics are better. Many race trailers are stolen and then recovered; sans contents.  Plan for that rainy day with insurance, trackers, VIN#s, pictures.

Agree,  my trailer is plain on the outside, I have a 6'x3' banner, I mount with bungie cords at the track, and that's why I put my photo hobby name on the inside if the tail gate so it's only seen while at the track. Trailer, and bikes are all insured just in case.
