Yep! What a badass
I’m going to be very clear, the kind of crashes produced by the jumps on this course are the kind that leave people paralyzed. Due to the steep landings on the “supercross” style course last night there is a high probability of endowing when you case with your front wheel. This is what we saw last night, no doubt these kids are tough, resilient, talented as all hell! That Richards kid is an animal, I am beyond happy that he is ok and was able to race today. I’m not a pussy and neither are my kids, I don’t condone coddling of any kind. I am just saying that the circumstances presented to the kids racing last night were dangerous and I am glad Vincent Wey and Canyon Richards are ok but I would like to see this kind of racing reserved for bigger bikes and older kids.
It really was just that one jump most kids were having trouble with. I saw on ig before the race a video of like 20 kids casing the shit out of it in practice. All they had to do was fix that one jump a bit and it would have been fine.
While I agree somewhat with the principle of your post, I’ve seen far too many parents who pushed their kids not for the kids’ benefit, but their own. Too many parents whose greatest achievement was lettering in high school football that try to live their dreams through their kids. I know one who wouldn’t let his kid come in for lunch until he jumped something on their track that another friend (a legit Vet Intermediate) was sketched out by. The kid was riding an 80 at the time and was a winning 80 beginner at best.

I am not sure about the obstacles and the size of the bikes. However, a lot of sports put young people in high pressure situations. Take a look at Olympic sports, that pressure makes this look like a walk in the park. Televised and the whole world is watching. And don't start with the danger factor, take a look at the history of some of the gymnastic sports, brutal also. To me the mental damage comes from behind the scenes "camps" some are good some are terrible. Not the stage so much.
Hard agree here. Poor parenting.
It should’ve been +45 or 50+ 125 big purse. The Midwest is stacked with fast vet riders. Too many too list but I,ll list a couple. Current 125 rider riding a 125 at LL Marc from Wi. Finished 15 in 45,50. Hoffmaster, Jerominski, Jr Jackson, Brandon Bartz, etc all from IL. They would hv put a thousands more in the stands. Chad Johnson Wi. Still fast. Eron Ezerins Wi. I,m sure could fly yet. They all raced AX, some did SX, Nationals, made great money racing Fri night Lake Geneva then Byron Sunday or Aztalan.
Yeah that is my whole point.
People TELLING me what I should and should not applaud.... 😂
Weedge's post was straight good news when I saw it this morning. It didn't look good and the only thing I had heard last night was a possible broken collarbone....
Offering your condemnation and judgement as to a complete stranger's parenting, in a public forum, might not be a good example of wisdom in action. Maybe?
It's almost like some people truly think other people actually care about their negative opinions. Almost.
Is that possible? 😂
Glad he’s ok and was able to race today. Thank God it happened while he was racing and wearing all of his gear. Pretty sure I’ve seen videos of this kid hucking SX triples on a Surron in street clothes, shoes and a BMX helmet.
Absolutely agree on the parents who push too hard trying to relive their own glory or punish kids for not performing. That is bad parenting.
...but for someone to say kids shouldn't race Supercross is ridiculous. These kids are the future of the sport. These first two SMX tracks have been some of the safest tracks I've seen in a long time. All while keeping the racing exciting and fun to watch.
I'll wager most of these kids could run circles around many of the adults on this forum.
One day that phone will ring with a factory 125 ride lined up, profeshenal. I believe in you. One day…
Are you serious? Talk about bodies littered everywhere, at least the kids bounce up.
Haha That would be awesome. I would huck the finish line jump. Make a far outside line in the corner b4 it. Base of the ramp click 4th & hold it wo shoot for the sky then old school brake tap & hope I get it rt. Or the pull up on the bars then push the bars away using the secret heal in the sub frame lift the rear end technique. The 3 big doubles I might get into trouble tho. Ovr jump the 1st one & whiskey throttle the next 2. To take out the frame work for the Monster sign.
Get this man a sponsorship.
I’m more pissed how pathetic that track was last night for the pros. NO ONE CARES ABOUT SUPERMINIS.
I’m curious how you post while dreaming??
Pit Row
the only ones you can blame are the parents for signing them up then lmao
Tough kid.

So glad Richards made it out of there safe and to his race the next morning. crash looked bad.
Lol, those jumps are super Mellow there. That’s no where near a sx or mx national lip, fun to ride but definitely vet friendly layout. Back around 2003 or so when they had Marty Leum reface everything then it had a nice lip on the one by the road.
Nice. That lip was built up this yr along with the one that drops ya down the hill. The lips r beat down now. Late 90,s the jumps & whoops where fun. Next co is in beaver dam. Probably live in fond du lac to be close to work. Don’t know much about the towns down there. What do you think of fond du lac ?
Fun track when the conditions are right. They try, hard to work with the dirt they have.
Yeah, I raced all of those also, LA Coliseum, Jack Murphy, Anaheim, Sun Devil Stadium, did all of them and more than once. You survived because the tracks were all mowed down and nothing like the track that the pros raced on the night before. If you saw a jump like the ones these kids wadded on Saturday night, you would have shit yourself down both legs. Stop it..
Of course the tracks were cut down. They ran BEG thru EXP classes for crying out loud. ...and the tracks were STILL more technical/dangerous than local tracks at Indian Dunes and Saddleback by far.
The kids racing Saturday night are the next pros....pretty sure they have the skill level to handle those tracks. Hell the kids on 65's were sending it over the triple in SMX1. You did not see that back in the day... Skill/bikes have come a long way.
So yeah...just stop, yourself.
