Team USA will not be announced today

How about Villopotto, Stewart and Carmichael...they won't win but they will fly the flag high for the US. The fans would go nuts.

Right now, the US sure don't shine under the best light on this...

If there's no US team, everybody will miss it. If there's no US team, everyone responsible (and I think they are quite a few) should be ashamed of themselves. It's not exactly like USA is a struggling, broke third world country whose absence is meaningless on the MX scene...

We French loooove to bash our federation, often because of bold selection choices, but not only. Yet the FFM spends lots of time, money and energy on the MXDN, just out of national pride. Is national pride gone on the US MX scene?

And I know in war times, a lot of Americans think of the French as pussies. As far as MX goes, have the Americans become scared of losing?

C'mon guys, get here and fight!

Kudos to Plessinger and Hampshire.

This what be a good interview also. DC and RD asked about the differences between France and USA, how they can always field a top notch team even by making unique rider choices. Yet here USA, with full gates for the outdoor series can’t find 3-4 people to go and run the 1-2-3??

Deegan wants to go and has expressed that to the team. His family is more than capable of cutting the check themselves and could probably make it profitable for themselves but went and asked star for permission instead of saying hey yo we're going and you're helping. Star however told the future of their team and their biggest cash cow no you're not going because reasons. The Deegan family who has never avoided a microphone, camera, or controversy have responded by being good company men and saying aww shucks I guess the team doesn't want to go and we support their decision, but trust us we really wanted to go!!!!!

That's what some of you seem to believe and that's just not believable.

Deegan owns his factory race bikes and all the spare parts?

The USA team doesn't travel on a shoestring budget.  Sure other countries teams travel cheaper, good for them.

For Team USA You have support staff, mechanics and managers to consider. Riders are not flying coach - the cost of a business class round trip ticket is 8 to 9 grand for one rider. for three riders that is 25 grand right there.

They also don't rent or borrow bikes, and they bring spare everything.  The mechanics and support people who do this  don't work for free.

But whatever the cost it isn't cheap to move a team and their gear halfway across the world, and feed and house them for for 8 to 14 days.

So you're saying team USA are a bunch of primadonnas who won't represent their country overseas unless they're pampered all the way there and back, and...

So you're saying team USA are a bunch of primadonnas who won't represent their country overseas unless they're pampered all the way there and back, and riders who travelled to the US with their bikes in hand luggage or rode borrowed bikes because they were desperate to represent their countries are idiots? Wow..

And any future chest-beating posts about foreign riders going to the US series "because of the big money" should be shit-canned instantly from now on..

ns503 wrote:

And the show will go on without them...

It shouldn't have to though. It's getting embarrassing seeing it swing every year between huge enthusiasm when it's on home soil, and excuses when it's not. It's also insulting to guys from small countries who move mountains every time it's in the US just to get there.

Ownership and control are two different concepts.

Deegan could look some of you in the eyes and say "yeah I just didn't really want to go" and you'd still be making excuses for him and refusing to believe it. It's cute.

So frustrating...  It is my favorite race of the year by far.  My wife and I were going to Ernee, we had a VRBO, flights and were all in.  The only thing I hadn't bought was tickets to the race.  I had a work conflict come up that I couldn't get around.  And now, I'm actually glad that happened.

I know he's young, but he's on the team that wants to go, ask JuJu...

I've always been a fan of RJ, and even more so with what is going on today...  AP - RJ - JuJu, let's do this.

Wouldn't happen. Triumph isn't FIM homologated yet.

So we need the B-team for Puerto Rico: Pastrana, Albertson, K-Dub.

Weeks ago multiple sources said Deegan didn’t want to go if Sexton was out, I.e. wouldn’t go unless they had their best shot at winning. Nobody denied or defended that.

Now, much further down the track, Star says they’re out as a team.
And the reason poor Deegs can’t go is because Star won’t support it?!

Umm okay, if that’s what it takes to make you feel better about that 😂

It's not AMA Pro racing there is no FIM homogation, but Triumph is too late to declare the maximum rpm value of the engine...

You are wasting your time and breath at this point.  The funny thing is, the folks that are pretending to be upset about what/why Deegan is not going, would probably never admit why they really can't stand him, his family, his dad. It is not because they care about him racing at MXoN at all, there is an underlying loathe and this is an opportunity (albeit, really lame) to try to drag them down and throw shade over false assumptions..  Not because they care about him racing, but because they can't stand the family all-together.

Now you have to ask, why would anybody hate on a family that has a massively solid core, and built an empire out of nothing?

Spent the weekend racing with Reed and Grant. Josh and Chad still get around well on a supermini that is! Josh looked pretty fit. Chad had a little weight on him but he's thinner that last pic i saw of him. In the father/son race josh and chad were about the same speed as where there sons wyatt and tate. My grandson was in the super mini class with them.

Even talked to Ellie and josh's dad during the father son race. Josh had to do it with both sons, first on the 65 then the supermini and he didnt fade with chad chasing him. So, reed, grand and call ferry. I dont believe dv rides at all right?

Lol. Btw, ellie still looks quite pleasant!!

To the people saying Masterpool; who’s funding his bill? Cool idea to send him but he’s not gonna pay $10,000+ to go race and not get anything in return. Kawi isn’t gonna help him.

Some of you thinking that the Deegans could just straight up tell Star, or any other riders telling their teams that they are racing on their own dime is laughable. Are you guys actually serious?

For those not self employed, go tell your employers that you're going to use their equipment to do something outside of what you are contracted to do but on your own dime and see what their response is. I work for a great company and even they would look at me and tell me, "the hell you are!"

Yes, I agree it's really going to suck if we don't send a team to MXdN. At the same time, is MXdN in any of these racers contracts? If no, then it's 100% up to the team on whether these racers can go or not. They are contracted for SX, MX and SMX and anything outside of that has to be cleared by their teams.

Um, technically its the off season, and if Haiden wanted to call up a team in France and borrow a bike and bring his suspension/electronics to race out of pocket, What could Star say?(hypothetically)

Um, technically its the off season, and if Haiden wanted to call up a team in France and borrow a bike and bring his suspension/electronics to race out of pocket, What could Star say?(hypothetically)

probably along the lines on "you are contracted to race for Star and Star only, that's a breach of contract. We also own the suspension and electronics. Have your lawyers call our lawyer." Just a guess though...

If several teams or brands don‘t want send their riders to the mxdn, why are they waiting till end of the season to tell the mx community that they will not participate?

Wow, on the 22nd anniversary of 9/11 we have a bunch of prima donna's who have no pride in their country and won't go to France to defend their MXDN victory.

Good job the troops who went after Bin Laden weren't so apathetic and pussy footed. What happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave?

If Team USA won't send a team then they don't deserve to ever hold the event on American soil again.

Hope I'm proved wrong!

Man, what really irks me about all this is Kawi. They've paid barely any bonuses this year, and they still are tryna save more money by not sending Anderson or AC. How stingy can they get?

It's not about money for them.
