Weege asked Jimmy Button at Iron Man about Ferrandis, Button said Dylan has something for next year. I heard this during the Iron Man pulp wrap up show. 16:15 minutes into the show they talk about Dylan. I just found it. Weege said he talked to Button at Buds Creek.

What I heard today from a completely separate source is that there is a potential spot opening on a major team but it is not a done deal at this time.  The spot may open due to a surprise announcement in the coming weeks/month depending on "personal developments" after a meeting following SMX.  I will not say who or what team as what I heard is just hearsay and I did not directly speak to someone in the know.  However, when I heard the news and who it was from, it made perfect sense to me.  So, if it happens, the hand wringing regarding DF should be over and ML can change his Silly Season article. BTW, if I heard it today on the way to lunch, I am sure the top players in MX/SX media know the answer but are not saying anything out of respect to the rider/team involved.

Cmon mate just spill the beans on what you know…..

If Dylan went to TLD GasGas, he'd have to get out of his Thor contract, Bell contract, and Monster contract. Massive pay cut, the team pay wouldn't be as high as those three deals.

Secondly, Dylan was actually supposed to be TLD's first 450 guy and was in negotiations with them...ended up moving to 450s with Star instead and Barcia got the spot with GasGas instead. There's a story that floated around about how the negotiations went and something that happened along the way. I won't post it because I haven't been able to confirm if it was true but if so, it sorta makes me think they wouldn't consider him in the future.

And you'll never ever put Ferrandis and Barcia under the same awning.

Can qualify fastest on any given Saturday night, can never seem to pull it off when the gate drops.
Why are Kawasaki holding on to him like they are?

Also under a contract that already extended into 2024.

But if AC wont get his issues sorted out for 2024, that is surely his last year at Kawasaki?

Major Teams

Red Bull KTM: Sexton, Plessinger
Rockstar Husqvarna: Craig, Stewart
TLD GasGas: Barcia
Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha: Tomac, Webb, Cooper
HRC Honda: Lawrence Bros
Monster Energy Kawasaki: Anderson, Cianciarulo

There's only one rider on that list who has recently talked about an injury not progressing much, as well as a post-racing career.

Craig, Stewart, Cianciarulo are all injured, kind of cryptic post. Seems Ferrandis at Husky makes sense in a way they have no presence in the outdoor championship since Osborne left. Stewart genuinely never really races outdoors, maybe three or four times last year?

There's no room on any team for him at this point because they all hired riders not named Ferrandis for '24:

KTM - New contracts for Sexton and AP

Kawi - New contract for Anderson

Star - New contracts for Webb, Cooper and Tomac

Husky - New contract for Mookie

GasGas - New contract for Barcia

The only factory spots locked down going into '24 were Cianciarulo, Craig and Jett.

Incorrect analysis.  Chase's deal was done after MXON last year, not two years ago, and Coop's deal wasn't done until April of this year. Justin got his ride because Dylan turned down the offer from Yamaha. And you never heard that STAR said he would get a ride if he was battling with Chase and Jett. Who makes up these wild comments?

Chase was talking with KTM at the end of 2021, finalized it at the end of last year, and signed April of this year.  When I say 2 years, that when they started working on it.

Coop knew he was going to Star a year ago. He knew Chase was coming and he knew he was getting a 1 year deal to keep him there until chase got there.

I never knew Dylan was offered a ride. Yes, I was told by someone at Star that they told him if he got results, he’d have a ride.

Since you seem to know, why did he turn down Star when he had zero offers besides HEP?

Ok, i don’t mean literal years, Chase and KTM started talking end of 21, and Coop knew what he was doing last year.

I have no clue if anything happened...but I will say that Ferrandis has a ton more likelihood of bringing Husqvarna a top-5 finish in SX and outdoors than Craig has.

Yessir. I got this info unsolicited yesterday just by asking "anything new" to someone I have known for close to 30 years. So, I decided to make the post to try and "flush out" those who may know and make their living in this business to see if there was any validity to what I heard. Last night, after reading some comments posted yesterday by a major media member or 2, there was a cryptic clue that lends credence to what I heard.  If the dominoes fall the right way and a retirement decision is made, we should be in for a big announcement in the near future.

I will straight say I have 100% zero clue what you’re referencing. I asked Matthes and a couple other guys, none of us have a clue what this is referencing. 😂

GasGas need to dig deep and find the money to sign Ferrandis. He is a Championship calibre rider. His 450 SX results have not been good but still....a happy Ferrandis will be good.
