Was listening to a Keefer Tested Loretta Lynn recap podcast and he mentioned something about FXR working on a more budget friendly gear brand. I believe he mentioned the name but I can't remember for the life of me. Let me know if anyone else has heard anything.

Gear is the same price it was 25 yrs ago if not less. Let’s focus on quality vs going even cheaper. IMO.

You sure? High end FXR stuff pricing is $90 for the jerseys and $240 for pants. Fox has some stuff at or near the same price.

Ever heard about inflation?

Let`s assume 199$ for a set in 2000. Thats 337$ now. Just saying...

Some of the higher end FXR snowmobile gear can cost upwards of $1000.00 for a jacket and bibs...

At least back then gear protected you half this crap now is worthless.  That FXR stuff I saw at a shop wouldn't last but a few rides.  That's the big difference.  I'll pay for quality, I'm not paying for this thin crap now.

Looks like the FTA gear is $80 for jersey $200 for pants. Not sure "cheeper" is the distinction they are trying to make?

The gear looks great but it also looks just like FXR, they didn't do much to differentiate the brands.

Seems like that was the pricing for good stuff a few years ago, other than top tier fox. The post Covid inflation has hit though, and $200 only gets mid level now.

It seems like everyone around me has the FXR gear these days.  I've heard the stuff holds up well in comparison to other brands (fox/ answer).

In my experience the flimsy FXR stuff holds up better than anything else I’ve ever worn. I didn’t even have to buy gear this year as the stuff I’ve had the last 2 years is still holding up. And I’m hard on gear.

Be neat to see what the direction FTA will go in design wise.

I feel like Seven changed the pricing structure, when they first came out I saw their prices, and I was out. It seems that once they elevated the price, everyone else did too. $75-$100 jerseys are normal now and I dont recall that being common before Seven.

When Pulp had Phil on he was saying that FTA was going to be the line with more wild designs and colors.  Perhaps there is going to be another line from FXR that will be the cheaper stuff or Phill did not know about that part?  Much of the gear these days is made to be comfortable , and unrestrictive , with durability seeming to be the last  thing.

Last time I bought gear (2014) Gloves were $15-25, jerseys were $30-50, pants were $80-150. You can find clearance gear pretty cheap compared to retail, and its still new gear. Otherwise lower your standards. lol. I will not.

There are still brands in that range for mid end level stuff.  Thor Pulse is 114.99 pant , $ 39.99 jersey and Gloves are $25-$30 .  The Prime is a hair higher $169.99 pant, $64.99 Jersey , gloves $30 .   The Alpinestars Supertech is about $300 for pant jersey at full retail.  but their mid level stuff is not far  off the old prices.

I stopped riding in 04. Started selling Thor in 22, and was surprised that the prices  were not a lot different than when I was still buying gear.  I think it varies depending on the brand.

Back in the day (1979), I ordered a custom pair of REAL leather pants from a place in Edmonton (the name escapes me at the moment-it will come back to me in 2 days. I'm 60). They were like 300.00!! They were also incredibly hot, heavy, and they protected your ass! I loved those things. Today I might feel safer in Carhartt overalls.......I do have a set of FXR gear that I like, but I also have Sinesalo gear and Shift gear from the 90's that I still wear too so..Relatively speaking gear has remained affordable-the exceptions are helmets and boots-those are big ticket items, much more so than back in the day IMHO.

Something is off with this whole FTA thing. There is nothing that differentiates it from FXR except the letters.

I thought the exact same thing... Honestly, I saw the FTA gear a few times before Phil mentioned it on Pulp and didn't even realize it WASNT FXR gear lmao. I thought it just was.

It literally looks identical to FXR and the price is about the same. From a brand standpoint, I do not see what the point is here lol.

Yeah, at least when Fox had Shift, the Shift kit was generally quite different. This FXR/FTA thing doesn't make sense as it's so similar.

This is a perplexing move, we need an interview with the team that executed this.  A 2nd moto line that also starts with F, has 3 letters and literally looks no different than existing FXR garments...

Count me in the minority but I think this is awesome! It's done it a ton of different industries (see many auto manufacturers; almost identical body styles with some tweaks in offering, color ways, and slight body style change but the general look is almost identical) for differentiation, and growth but not having to reinvent the wheel. FXR has the designs and templates already done, why not make a subsidiary company that you can grow as the line gets more traction and the customer base grows.
Good on you FXR!

I really like FXR, but it needs some more padding around the junk area. The roost to the nuts when standing is terrible. Never had this problem before until I switched.
