What was the best track you have ever ridden?

Amazing dirt, an awesome layout, and some elevation (for Texas standards).

Some nerdy reasons that I liked it, the had a big metal wall, don't recall the purpose of it (sound probably?) but it added a cool factor riding through it and going to the track. It was also the location of my first race and they gave out HUGE trophies, which made a 12ish year old squid feel like the big leagues. Lastly, riding therewith my brother and best friend, was the first time I was actually faster than either of them, and we had it on tape.

#1 for me is Swan in Tyler, Tx. #2 Hawkstone Park and #3 Farleigh Castle in England.

Summit Raceway, Lewiston ID-yes it was blue-groove city, but had awesome jumps and layout/terrain and the owners were great people. Fond memories skipping lectures at WSU and riding instead, lol…

Best place ever was Indian dunes. If it had hills, ( which were there, but not 'track'), it would reign supreme.

But, just a track? Tough one. Some private places were heavenly.

Zaca. 25min from the house, now we are driving minimum 1.5hrs to the nearest track. Unfortunately I stopped riding in 2014-2021 and it closed before I started again so I missed the tail end when he had brought in allot of sand and it was prime. Layout was always the same but it was awesome..

I could make a strong case for a turn track I found in Fallbrook once. I lived there in 2002-2004. One day I spotted from the highway a shape on the side of a hill, which looked to my trained eyes like a berm. It lay in a valley, protected by hills, brambles, and a stream that wound its way past my house. Surely, if there was a track there I would have found it, right? I decided to look. 
I rolled my nearly-new '03 YZ125 out of the garage and blasted out into the hills. Forded the stream and looked for signs. Nothing. Tire tracks leading back and forth across the streambed, but nothing of consequence. Then, a single line, straight through a bramble of weeds. Underneath the trees and up an insane hillclimb to a part of the valley I never realized was there. Crest the top and (cue the angels signing, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh") there it was! Golden sunlight streamed down in an unbroken beam upon the recently-rained-upon loam of a berm track. Tiny, bright green shoots of grass were growing all over it. The traction was immense, the sand whoops deep, the lines well-placed. It was Heaven on Earth for a day. 

Yeah, maybe that one. 

Redbud throughout the years. The old layout was cool but I am also a fan of the current layout. 

Monster mountain - haven't been in a while though. 

Private track in Indiana near the MI border. I would put it on par with any national track. Super flowy layout with fun jumps. 

For pure competition, elevation change, and deep loam...Kahoka, MO. - Mike Burkhart (Sorry if I spelled the name wrong)

For an understanding of jumps and how bikes actually work...Fosterberg, IL. (Paul Willis - now running Arch View I believe)

Of course, this goes back to the late 90s, early 00s. 

Today? I'm too fat and old for it to matter.

How are you going to have the name LouisianaMototcross and not at least mention wildwood.  

You had to run the 45 minute Gran Prix races to get the hills included...which also included parts of the International track,  sand and river crossing.     Those were "kick and go" starts.    Man, I loved that place.

What a memory - my first 'big race' that I attended... I remember when practice started and I saw DeCoster, etc. for the first time. Exciting.

Masters Motoplex in Gaston, SC this past weekend. Rained that morning and the dirt was perfect

I loved Saddleback in morning practice on race day. The dirt was loamy and a little over watered, you could go wide open and rail all the outside turns, then it would turn to shit. 
 

 Indian Dunes GP tracks. They would use both tracks, the hills and the sand wash. 
 

Personally, Cooperland. That track was so much fun.

I would love to ride Millville someday, someday soon!

2019 i was lucky enough to get over to ride MX Rewind at Unadilla, and as the weather was shocking on the run up, they left it sealed with grass on... i got out in first practice, struggled to see as i had something in my eye. LOL

And on the second day , i got to jump into gravity cavity with my lad behind me, which we saw on a Go Pro a few weeks after. 

The only other MX race i did that year was Farleigh Vets des Nations.. so i did 10 gate drops, 6 at Dilla, for 3x2 overall, and 4 at Farleigh for a best of 27th LOL

Going full send up the steps on a 125 at Farleigh (even though they are easier now) at 56 years old, was nuts. 

I never realised that other than the National, Unadilla only gets used for Rewind, so not everyone gets to ride it, 

I agree, RedBud Vet Fest has the track prime. Between there and Leisure Time MX in Medaryville IN, tough to beat IMO

Both the best and worst track I've ever ridden was Lommel in the week leading up to Des Nations in 2019. All the teams and support classes had been practicing there and hammered the track into oblivion. I've never seen anything so rough and deep. I'll be proud of the fact I've been dropped dead by Prado, Vialle, Febvre and many more until the day I stop riding. Although my goal for this next year is to progress my riding so much that I don't make a total fool of myself when I hit it again.

Clarks Branch, Roseburg Oregon. Fond memories of a beautiful track that was always prepped to perfection by Ralph and staff. The blind double in back and the off camber ups and downs with that clay was amazing.  The smell of breakfast sandwiches and 2stroke fumes in the morning with a cool fog that cleared away to hot summer days. Was always and will always be pure Moto to me.

Back in '02 on an 85 I was the first practice of the morning and was like the 3rd rider out on the pristine chocolate cake dirt just holding it pinned everywhere.

Big Red Motocross, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma back in the 70’s.  Really good track even for back then.  Good dirt and well prepped.

While on the topic of good dirt, good prep Might not be the best track layout for some but Ultimate MX in Alvin, Tx has really good dirt and it’s prepped really good everyday.  
 

The best track I've ridden is luckily open currently.  It's Leadville MX Park in Leadville, CO.  The most insane views of any track, turns with plenty of grip but not tilled super deep, and fun flowing jumps with safe landings. Not to mention it's generally 20 degrees cooler than Denver.  

Moto Masters in Mexico, NY....love that place, especially in the early AM when the track is smooth as glass, feel like a hero WFO on that sand. Then as it organically takes form throughout the day. Shangri-la for me.

Spring Creek Millville MN so good has everything a moto track should have! Lots of good ones, another Kahoka Missouri big hills loamy dirt super fun.

There pretty much every weekend very Vet friendly great track.

NHMX. 2020. Nothing big or that technical, but there was a good variation in types of dirt and the track followed that the natural terrain really well. 

Beat me to it.  Cooperland was the best.  Dirt, layout, location you name it just awesome place.

I lived in the house at the bottom of the pic with the pool. My childhood was spent roaming around those fields and woods playing pond hockey, building forts, riding bikes, and as you can see, riding moto. My brothers laid out that track and it was black loam and grass and I could be on it from my garage in less than 5 minutes. I don't know if any of us ever found out who owned the land, and no one ever bothered us, so we sent it. Has anyone invented a time machine yet?

Coop built it right. Go big or small, plenty of options.
