I plan on claiming my own bike. To off set some profits from Profeshenal racing. And to create awareness of the domination & unfairness of the DBP , double boost port. Then the bike will go to auction for 45k.

With all the vlogs people are starting up, I'd actually watch one that chronicled a claim on some of the $$$$ bikes and all the resulting butt hurt. I'd like to think that after last year the grownups would be smart enough not to try the same tactics, but you never know!!
Wasn’t there a mod to the drivetrain or engine, something about changing a bearing or doing something to reduce drag that worked really well, but didn’t last long?

The way the industry came down on the Schofield and the mechanic was ridiculous. The industry giving Cotter etc interviews purely to defend themselves with ZERO push back was crazy to listen to. That's not journalism.
Lost alot of respect for the industry with that incident.
We will never know the mods to that bike but the arrogance could be smelled for miles...been a few theories bounced around mostly cdi but I think deep inside the engine and possibly ran a 5 valve head..

The AMA standard is 150% MSRP but MX Sports has supplemental rules for LL that raise it to double MSRP for just that event:

4. The claiming rule value is two times the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) at the National event.
That’s simply Tim’s roll as the Amateur Racing boss & MX Sports LL’s management. But, you’re right in that it reminded all of us of what went down last August.
Look, Tim should have managed the claim differently & he should have ignored all that “outside influence”. He had soooo much ranting & people making noise in his face…that he should have pushed aside and just managed the claim according to the rules. I‘m hopeful that they’ve learned from this and that the teams have been warned.
We’ll see.
There was once a Factory Honda claimed…it was suspected that after that…the teams created a buddy system to get around this rule…
That was Marty Tripes’ works Honda at the 1979 Hangtown National, the claiming rule was quietly dropped from pro motocross rules!

I honestly don't think they would've learned anything? Well maybe they did? But will they behave differently or make real changes to the way they operate moving forward? I doubt it. The circles within the sport are too small and incestuous. Everyone knows each at the mid to higher level and they're all scratching each other's back.

I thought the money was put up by a 3rd party and said 3rd party wanted to get their hands on that Star bike. The rider was just a pawn in the entire scheme.

The rider presented the money and said it was not from a third party. But, irrelevant, regardless. Even if he did receive the money from a third party, who "wanted to get their hands on that Star bike," that is still well within the rules.
New rules in place state once a bike is cleaned, the claim cannot be rescinded. It is a done deal at that point.
Insane that "no takebacksies" is a rule in any actual sport. The only reason that could exist is because the old actual rule didn't apparently mean anything.
