Nah it can’t be because of that, they must put 1000’s hours on a dyno to make sure the maps/modifications work reliably. I bet it’s a combination of things.

I’d love to actually know what caused it but I feel like we’ll only ever have speculation.

An air filter falling off and sucking dirt will have similar results too.

You guys want to know why they don't say what the problem was? Because no matter what they say, you goofies will still speculate that there's some kind of conspiracy, and what actually happened to the bike isn't what actually happened to the bike. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't, so why even bother?

There was not much said about the moto 1 bike failure, or Hunters unusual lack of pace in moto 2 either.

A disappointing day for us ( fan boys ).

I actually thought about this but then thought it’d be a schoolboy error having a filter come off, surely they must have a way to prevent it coming off/letting crap through. The 21+ Honda style filter system doesn’t fill me full of confidence and I bent the bracket on mine to make it tighter.

I know the MXGP HRC team use the twin air power flow system which screws in but not sure if they do in the US.

Very possibly the radiators packing up because of having to follow/pass so many riders?

Often this would result in steam, then smoke for a period of time I guess?

Potentially, what failed was also in the replacement engine, and he was “nursing” it a bit in the second moto?

Unfortunately it looked like the turbo encabulator decided that would be the last turbo it would ever encabulate.

At 1.6GJ the thermo inverters can only last about 27.978 minutes before a core meltdown ensues.

Somebody ask Chad Reed.   He has his finger on everything these days.

Yeah I saw that valve cover gasket on the live broadcast and was kinda surprised it wasn't hidden a little better... Bummer deal for Honda but it happens when you're beating on them.

Was most likely the Fetzer valve. They didn’t have the right 3 in 1 oil.

My finger points to the Protein Homogenizer, sand is tough on them.

Honda is experimenting the highly classified DBP double boost port design on the 250f. It’s simply too much intake pressure. The rod explodes.  I commend Hunter for taking the risk of riding the DBP. But is it worth it ?

Could have been a head gasket failure that pressurised the cases and blew the seal out. It looked like it was steaming from heat soak when he pulled up. Footage prior to him pulling over for visible oil smoke or coolant steam would be helpful.

Hunter not impressed. He was badly hurt 3 years ago with a jump face failure.

seriously? the bikes got thrashed mercilessly when celebrating their wins etc last year and never failed, and those bikes were consistently beating the Star ones.

Brian Deegan paid Honda not to put oil Hunters bike.

Was I the only one that saw it?

The banana in the tailpipe (muffler) was the clear issue....

The youngsters just won't get it.

Clarke and Dawe!

Perhaps The greatest Political Satire ever done.

Each week, they'd do a skit, with John Clarke being interviewed in the character of  a Politician / Businessman / Celebrity / someone in the news each week. He'd never  be done up as the interviewee, just  in a suit / normal clothing. Bryan Dawe would always be the interviewer, playing it straight as a dy.

Brilliant , Simple, but incredibly smart and funny TV.  They were a team from 1989 to 2017, when John died.

What he / they could have done with the idiocy of today, would have been superb.

RIP John 'Fred Dagg' Clarke - an enormous loss to the Australian and Kiwi TV / Movie / Stage / Writing and the Arts in general, and, of course,  the incomparable  sport of Farnarkeling .

No hiding anything there, even posted pictures of the blown donk pulled apart on the bench. Funnily enough no one stopped buying Huskies? Teams are too paranoid.

Bad picture quality but this is from the broadcast. Looks to me like the front half moon portion of the valve cover gasket is blown out. Extreme crankcase pressure can cause this. I've seen a nitrous motor go lean melting a hole in a piston which then blew out every gasket on the motor including the dipstick.

Lol, there is a chunk missing from the valve cover and I get down voted to shit. VITARDS!
