I feel like they create their own problems and blew many opportunities. It’s a super easy concept. The kid has insane speed. All her needs to do are be likable, professional, a make… and keep the right connections, and remain somewhat healthy…. Then having a long successful career on good equipment is very easily obtainable.

That family has been through a lot. I don't think it's fair for any of us to speculate what's going on behind closed doors.

100%, I think the reason this is even a thread is we all recognize the kid has crazy talent.  The fact that he's even at this level and racing shows a lot of resilience in the family. This sport is incredibly cruel.

You should reach out to Ty and see what actually happened. We all know what kind of business 2x promotions does so that’s should answer a lot of the questions.

Yes but you will never get a straight answer on what happened. The kid will give his side true or not so honestly who knows what happened.

I remember his laps in the lead at Red Bud a few years ago were a thing of absolute beauty. Hope he gets to keep racing if it's what he wants to do.

Maybe Ty should reach out to ML if he feels there is an inaccurate narrative that needs to be corrected. From Star to Invictus to AEO to BarX he seems to have a hard time holding down a ride.

Surely if this is the reason why then after the first time you’d negotiate that as part of future contracts. Doesn’t take a smart MF to know that?

I’m sure he’s at a great facility and I am a fan of his. But I think it’s best to just “play the game” with certain teams and get established. Once you have reached tomac status and want to stay at your own place and training during the season then fine. But I could see how that pissed off certain teams.

I’ll be cheering for him from now on especially after adding some excitement to the 450 class last weekend. Hopefully he gets a deal for his efforts

Why is that considered "a problem"? Most jobs require an employee to work at a specific location. Look at the Deegans, even with all their fame and their own training facilities, they've had to sell up and move twice now in order for Haiden to be on a team.

What if the ‘facility’ made it open as a team base?  It’s not that long since everything was in Cali?  Why not Cali, Florida & Texas. Could really help one of the smaller teams out🤷‍♂️

Dude this guy is killing me! The one kid I wanted to make it big in this sport so bad. He has all the speed and talent and none of the drive and dedication. Drives me nuts!

people like you are pathetic! ty works his ass off and has more drive then most professional athletes he’s been dedicated to his family and his program since he was on pw50s he’s probably in his 600 sq foot gym right now getting after it! I guarantee nobody can outwork the masterpool family! tara would run laps around you!

He knew what he was getting into when he signed the contracts back with Star, its like any job you take, always terms and conditions, you can't go blaming teams....

But I am stoked with how well he is riding the 450 and hope he continues to get his shit together

I remember we were at a race and his dad didn’t like something the track owner did. He told all of the riders that train at his place not to race. If they did, then they weren’t welcome back to train with him. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lol.....yes and they are contracted to do their job to the expectations of the organization or person that hires them.

Riders are paid to produce results and do some brand promotion. How they prepare to produce said results is largely at their own discretion. If they're figuratively clocking in and out it's fraud to not put them on a W2.

"Another major difference between a contractor and an employee relates to their level of independence.

“Most people think the only difference between an independent contractor and an employee is how they are paid,” Michael C. Harman, attorney at Harmon Law, told Business News Daily. “In addition to compensation, independent contractors have more autonomy in their work.”"

This is just incorrect Tyler.  They sign a contract and it has nothing to do with a W2 vs. contractor.  Example:  KTM riders are required to train at Bakers Factory and it is in their contract to do so. They are required to do be at test days, training requirements, and contracted to attend certain races and other events.   There are also conduct clauses were they have to behave professionally and be active and appropriate on social media.  It is much more than show up at races and do some brand promotion lol.

ah, knew the KTM example was coming. did they fire Roczen? Cooper? nope.

let me know if that contract has actually been adjudicated or not. you can contract for anything... at the end of the day, it's a fact finding that has to occur to determine whether contractor is constructively treated as an employee or not and whether the contract is voidable.
