Embarrassing Factory riders.

Quite the opposite! It’d be the best ‘look’ ever!

“stock bike used by factory team”

“Good enough for pro-nationals- good enough for everyone!”

Didn’t Yamaha run a ad campaign in the early 80s with the line. Beating our Yamahas on your Yamaha

Lots of dudes in this thread acting like Masterpool hasn’t already had chances on good bikes.

Relax fellas, he had one good ride against the weakest field ever. He don’t deserve Coops seat or salary just yet 🤣

Ty was ripping today. Hopefully someone steps up and gives him some more help. Webb looked pissed in the press conference. He’s the only guy that didn’t mention Ty on the podium and if he hadn’t been asked in the presser he wouldn’t have said anything.

People please, yes, the privateers are closer up the ladder, but its just a depleted field, and today was just one race/ track.

Let's see where they finish at the end of the season before we give them a factory ride.

Come on, it’s not every day that a privateer rookie makes straight up passes on Kawi, Yami and KTM factory riders in his second ever 450 race. That’s not normal and it’s something to get excited about.
There’s not too much else happening in the 450 class except the master class out front.

Harlan looks good on it since the beginning of the MX season. It's when they start changing everything on it that he doesn't look that good. To make an opinion on a bike, don't look at a factory bike. Everything is different on them compare to stock. Geometry, forks, shock, electronics, engine components etc. A close to stock Yamy & Kawi looked pretty good today at 1 mile altitude...

It seems like the factories just can't leave a bike alone for long. If you don't get the result they want, change something. Seems like it gets to be a mental game. Didn't Jett and Hunter say they haven't changed their bike set up in the last 3 races?

Never forget that there are people in motorsport who would rather lose, than win with something that wasnt their idea.

He didnt finish as 'best privateer' a minute off, he rode from the back in Moto1 , and gave AP all he could handle at the end, and in Moto 2 he passed 3 AMA Champions on a bike he bought off the dealer floor .

IMO, if there had been more Factory guys racing even more of them would have been made to look stupid.

Marchbanks jumping out of 250 cos he was piss poor and looking good on the 450 says as much about the true level as anything.

You can bet there will be no factory guys wanting to ' ride themselves back into fitness ' with the like of Harlan, Masterpool and Drake  running as well as they are.

After the top 8 , you may as well be pulling guys out of the crowd, WSX has ripped the midfield out of 450 to a point where it isnt the premier class any more.

No he had chances on good teams... no doubt that he couldnt have the bike how he wanted it, so he walked rather than look poor cos he had 'the best bike' that actually didnt work for him.

Don't get me wrong, today's rides were unbelievable from the privateers, they showed speed and grit determination.

But one super ride shouldn't grant a factory ride.

What I will say is I was impressed with Ty's fitness, I for sure thought he'd have nothing in tank for second moto after start crash and coming from dead last to 5th charging hard. Worked his up to 3rd and I was waiting for him fade. Maybe a tiny bit at the very end but Dylan started doing his best laps at very end to get the opportunity for last few corner pass. Colour me impressed with kid.

That was fun to watch. I feel like there are half a dozen “Sean Hamblins” out there this year.

Masterpool would have podiumed 1st Moto had he not gone down.  Maybe even 2nd.  I know this is a repeated comment on vacant factory bikes…. but after today how does Kawi not put him on Jason’s bike until Jason is back.  He made green look awfully good today.

Teams have tried to work with the Masterpool's and it's been a train wreck every time.  They do things their own way and at the end of the day it has Ty racing for peanuts where he has the talent to be consistently great.  This is not the first time he has showed this kind of speed, but this was the strongest I can remember.

Seems like everyone is acting like Ty has been around forever. Didn’t he turn pro at 17 in 2019 on a Star Yamaha? Had some good races in 2020 then got hurt and cut by the team? Took the following year off. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I remember.

When is AC going to decide to turn it up?

Maybe today was a wake up call for these guys that are “ riding back into shape” for a year.

It was priceless when Cooper looked back and seen who it was.

It’s not that bad, these riders have convinced themselves if they don’t have the pace that day there’s something wrong with the bike. It’s 2023 and there is so much data and things you can do to a bike, the bike setup excuse is over used.

I had to laugh after the 2nd Moto when you have 3 Factory bikes in a little group just past the finish line and they hardly acknowledge Ty.  I can read lips through helmets and they said, “that dude was flyin!!”  …..”yea….he couldn’t afford to maintain his 250 so he moved up”…..”damn”…..

besides the awkward thumbs up DF gave him they did acknowledge he rode awesome in the post race interviews……

I saw that as well. He put it to em, great ride.

He didn’t do awesome because of the bike…he did awesome despite it.  No question he had some great help getting it where it is but it’s not close to a factory bike with factory resources.  There’s not a privateer out there that wouldn’t give his left nut to jump to a factory bike…even with 1 week prep.

Telling D.V. what's up. HahahaWhistling

Masterpool running with AC, AP, Ferrandis says a lot. Guys complain about a bike setup and he’s out there on a production platform just sending it. This is the sad thing about our sport, you have guys out there on factory bikes making 300-500k and a guy like Masterpool making $2500 for the weekend and no one will even look at him

hopefully kawi is at least tossing some clutches his way being theyve only got one guy on the track and he's a crasher.

If Ty would be losing a 5th, 6th or 7th place to DF14 with 3 turns to go after straight up blowing by him, AC and Coop it would still be impressive.

He is worth every penny they are paying AC and Webb.

Your high as a kite if you think that he is “worth every penny they are paying AC and Webb” Masterpool is great at outdoors. Those guys you mentioned are great at everything. Masterpool shits his britches every time he has to hit a whoop section. Dollars to donuts? Your off your rocker

What did AC do and show the last years to justifiy him a factory bike and top dollar salary? How likeable as a person he might be he’s been a let down for both Kawasaki and Fox paying him substantial amounts of money. Webb delivered multiple ocassions.

I'm pretty sure he's finished 4th more than once. Even a few podiums in there.

I thought James did a good job explaining the difference in a factory bike compared to the bike Ty is riding.

Up until lately the mxgp bikes have looked shit imo. All the riders looked so sketchy on it compared to last year . Last few races seewer has looked better. But I still think the bike looked better last year. I also think Tomac struggle with it in SX.

I cant help but wonder what’s going through Sextons head if he did indeed sign with KTM.  They went and put stockish suspension on their factory bikes and I don’t think they look very good on the track.  Looks like a fight the whole time.

The factory Hondas on the other hand look completely dialed and forgiving.   I hope Chase stays on red.

Seemed like Kenny could never get the Honda to where he liked it long. Jett says it is amazing. What is the difference?

I agree with DV12 it would be better for Ty to stay on the bike he is on but for Kawi to give him some cash, parts, help, etc. That does not mean Ty's bike is better than Adam's though. It is not.

AC’s kawi looks really good.  He just can’t  hold on.
Whoever set up Masterpools suspension also knows what they are doing.  It looked perfect for him.   I hope he keeps riding like he has been.
