In the sake of transparency, heres something im bummed about that ive already discussed with Stark and they will be providing a resolution asap.

My charger came with a L5-15 plug on it which means ill only be able to slow charge on 120V at the moment. They said this was a mistake and will be sending me a replacement 240V twistlock cable (L14-30) that allows for full 240V 16A charging.

No other customer will have this issue. I was told all US customers will be supplied with the 240V L14-30 twistlock and can use 120V adapter if needed.

Most people will be charging on 240V anyway in order to realize the full capability of the charger and get the fastest charging speeds.

The joys of being #1. I get to flush these things out for you guys.

I know I’ve probably missed it in previous threads about this, but what’s the charge time from we’ll say completely drained on the 120v vs the 240v?

on 120v, ~2 minutes per 1% gained. So 50% will take about 100 minutes.

on 240v, ~1 minute per 1% gained. So 50% will take about 50 minutes.

Its a massive difference at the track. 240V is absolutely mandatory IMO, otherwise you wont be able to charge the bike in time for your second moto.

I am actually grinning right now, giddy with the realization that the demise of 4-strokes may have begun in earnest in May, 2023.

I wonder how 415v would work with it ? I've it in my House and Workshop. I'm hoping at least one of my mates 2 Vargs, may spend a bit of time in my workshop.Woohoo

To the lack of stickers:

I like it, though I'm sure some will go garish , well, because it's theirs and they can. Fair enough......

Number plate background colour ?

I say Yellow, as with the adjustability, and the potential for 80hp , well, it's an Open Class bike, in many senses of the word.

I vote for no moderation. I am pro e-bike. I wish Bryan a lot of fun and ripping on the track. But i can agree with the other (elecrically challenged) side with there being too many threads and it can be looking a bit disingenuine.

Everybody should be able to read stuff from both sides and come to their own conclusions. In the end one side will have to eat crow anyway.

It is a  message board after all, a place where people should be allowed to have differing opinions on a subject.   Banning people because they don't like something or making a valid point, even when unpopular, they're would be nobody left around here.  lol.

I'm just wondering why we even have a "E-bike" sub-forum for all of these topics that keep popping up in moto.

Congrats to OP on the "toaster".

Me, I'm not a fan.   No motor noise, no smells,  chain clacking being the only thing you hear other than the "drone" buzz.      Watching them race SX and MX....I'm out.

Calling it a toaster is a valid point ? It's easy just to scroll by a thread if you've got nothing new to add . You say you don't like them in every thread about them . It doesn't matter if you like or don't like them  .

Just want to say congrats on the new bike and that it's pretty cool to be able to see the first one delivered in the US up close here on the forum. Looking forward to the updates as you learn more about it and run it through its paces. Have fun man!

Just got word that my replacement 240V cable has been shipped out already, to arrive by Monday. Talk about excellent customer service, wow! They immediately provided a resolution to this. Love it.

Ironic....It's easy to scroll past someone's posts you don't like too.   I suggest doing so....it works great.

I don't post in "every one of these threads".   I came in here for the entertainment and it hasn't disappointed.

i would love an unedited video of a ride from 100% > 0% battery. Just to get a sense of battery duration.

There's currently threads on EZ ups, mountain bikes, and mirrorless dslr's at the top of the moto-related forum, but threads on a new motocross bike manufacturer and bike gets your panties in a bunch...ok

In a way its kind of a good thing the cable issue happened. It gave the opportunity to find out how the company will deal with any issues that come up. Still is a bummer you have to wait a little while for it. But  thats pretty quick . Hopefully if any other issues arise they will be as quickly taken care of.

Are you going to take it apart and check the bearings for grease? Or do you know from your visit that they are already packed with grease?   How was the Alta as far as grease in the bearings? A simple thing that can add  to the long-term durability of a bike is just greasing them up from the start. Hopefully Stark has done this for everybody so there is not any need to tear it down. But considering its normal to come almost dry, it wouldn't surprise me either way.  Looking forward to seeing  more on the bike. That tool kit is nice! and a stand . Any other surprises or things that came with it?

Thank you for the detailed photos so far OP. Thing looks very trick. Do you know how you ended up getting the first one in the US? Or was it simply because you preordered day 1...

I believe that lack of grease we see across most bikes is due to environmental regulations. I wouldn’t expect the stark to be much different then current bikes.

So why let guys like that stay ? I have never seen a sport where people who supposedly ride spend all their time shitting on the sport. Put new members on a probation period so that when they get banned and come back under a new user name then you can weed them out quick. They are not racers or even fans of the sport so good riddance to them. Cool

Thanks for the update and being upfront about an issue Bryan.  Like sasquatch said it's good to see how problems/issues are handled. Sounds like they're on it, that's good to know.

Yeah ill be doing something like that for when i use the lift stand for the Varg. The stand that comes with the bike, though, has a raised edge in the front which keeps the bike level.

You see it's funny because a toaster plugs into the wall and is powered by electricity, and the Varg is also powered by electricity even though it is DC not AC so not really the same but still electricity. Classic!

Some ( they're easy to spot )  just prefer to masturbate in public & when called out , they cite 'freedom' protections.

It's pretty common on the internet.

To be fair.....they said the same thing about 2 strokes 20+ years ago. They sort of vanished for a while , then made a huge come back.

That being said....I like seeing 2 strokes, 4 strokes and these new E bikes. Something for everyone, is cool.

I dislike them because I'm burning with poor envy over not being able to afford one. I am SEETHING 24/7. I wake up drenched in sweat partly over anger, and partly over not being able to afford to use my air conditioner (if it even worked).

I don't stink up these threads. I think they're lame but I'm actually kinda excited to see them release. I'm glad all the foaming mouths are finally getting their bikes. Looking forward to whatevers next. Hey, can you paypal me some money?
