I feel like they talk about a racers background, their results 2 years ago, Rd1 and 2. They talk about their teams and coaches.
To much talk about things that does not matter. There is a race going on, and Blair and RC is not "in it".
I have to do my analyze myself figuring out who runs faster lap times than the other, who is closing in, when someone could catch up.
Like when coop went after Sexton. Not one word until coop is 1sec behind and suddenly it's like a suprise for Blair and RC he is there.
What about actually analyzing the race?!
Laptimes, segment times, just basic shit.
I feel like I'm listening to two guys sitting on the couch talking between each other of what ever comes to mind.
In combo with Bondo medioker work, it does not provide a great experience.
Is anyone else missing actuall detalils about things in the race going on, rather than what happend two weekends ago and how a riders Career have been?
Compared to MXGP, very different and for me negative experience with SX.
This is very much on point. For some reason the entire production is about 'telling a story'. These guys jabber on and on and on. Its even worse when they send it down to WillC, total cringe. Just call the dammed race.
Leave all that story garbage for the copious amounts of downtime.
The cutting away from live racing action last night, particularly to run through all of Chase's crashes since A1 was excruciating. I understand they'll replay the holeshot, but missing ~30 seconds of live action to watch crashes from A1, Tampa, etc during a completely different round is absurd.
Anyways, agreed. Last night I found myself watching the timing chart trying to do math and track who was catching who, whereas the announcers should be focusing on that so I can watch the racing. I typically keep an eye on timing but not to the extent I was last night.
The narrative doesn't need to be backstories, we have high quality racing on track, let that be the narrative.
They need to leave the interview clips to race day live, not the heat races or main events
I honestly very rarely pay any attention to what the announcers are saying in any sport I watch. I only care about what I'm seeing. Between the running order ticker on the left side of the screen and having watched hundreds of races on tv and in person I know what's happening on the track. I learned to tune out the announcers after they decided to put Cameron Steele in the booth, or when Chris Collinsworth is announcing an NFL game 😂. I know both sports well enough, that I am more focused on what is happening on the screen, not the voices coming out of it.

Whenever RC starts talking I just automatically block it out, he adds nothing to the conversation. He should be operating the cannon that shoots tee shirts into the crowd….
Spot on and you can’t compare MXGP to our broadcast as they make our coverage look like a bunch of rookies period!! Paul malan does it alone with no one else in the booth and never misses any action that is taking place on the track!! If the cameras are not dialed in to what’s going on he will call them out immediately and they quickly go to where he tells them too!!
Where is my dead horse 😅 will wants to do a talk show. Quick actual race information is all we need. . No feelings, same old he feels he feels blah blah. Honestly go back and listen as said mxgp, grant langston etc. gl would talk like he was on the bike. Rc sounds like he is in a bar talking to buddies. You can watch every week somethings coming or changing and we watch interviews or barcia for 4 laps in 8th. Bondo the racing will take care of the story. Its not a drama series. Yes peacock is great. But damn… where’s the tylenol.🤪
Blair said "bounce back" probably 20 times last night. Maybe he will bounce back from this shitty performance.
Maybe they should bounce him? The whole thing seems a little WWF-ish to me. I would like to see Weege and RC. That could be epic.
THANK YOU!
Last night was especially bad. I'm normally good with RC and DB or Diffey's work. ...but they were bad last night. There was also an excessive use of the queen of useless drivel, Will C... Mute was working overtime last night.
Every time he says “inside outside” I want to reach through the screen and punch him in the throat.
Too much ooohhh and aaahhhs for me when a crash or mistake happens other than that they both do a good job.
3 certainties in life: death, taxes, and Vital posters bitching about the SX announcers
The remote control has multiple buttons. One turns the TV off, one changes the channel, and another adjusts the volume.
How many times has RC mentioned that AC needs to just tick off laps, log laps, don’t worry about the result just hit your marks.
The 450 LCQ birds eye view start was good too 😂
but guys, he doesnt even look like he is trying!!
I actually had a hard time even hearing what anyone was saying as the mic level for them was turned way down compared to the sound of the bikes on the track.
Anyone noticed that without fail that when they cutover to some worthless comment from Will that something is happening on the track that someone could be commenting on. For me, she's the most annoying part of the race coverage.
I musta watched a different race. I didn't see or hear anything that pissed me off. I smiled and laughed the whole night.
Pit Row
It was a great race and great commentary
Replace RC and Blair with James Stewart and David Pingree. Stew has great insight and is not biased toward one rider. Pingree also is not biased toward one rider and can see things developing.
Blair is a nice guy, but I can't stand him as an announcer.
RC just adds nothing to the actual "analysis". Blair would be better with an analyst that could actually form a sentence. Ricky is my favorite racer of all time and I attended numerous races in person and watching him was incredible. He is simply misplaced in a role he just isn't good at. I still love the races and just try not to listen.
It must be Sunday Bitchday....every frikin Sunday there are multiple bitch threads.....
Brayton's audio was especially dreadful.
Stew's insight is obviously amazing but he's just not good at announcing. His little sayings, "neck burn", come off super awkward.
Weege & Langston would be the best combo, they were always awesome in outdoors. Ping would be a good 3rd to that team.
Ping tee not bias. That’s rich.
RC is terrible. There were hardly any 90 degree corners on that track and he kept talking about them. They don’t analyze the race, at all. Why they don’t break down segment times is beyond me. For example. Sexton clearly had an advantage in the first segment but Eli seemed to be quicker on the others. Why they don’t actually use the tools they have to better explain the race is beyond me.
Not a complaint per se, but I couldn't help but notice in the first 250 Heat that RC COULD NOT, I repeat, COULD NOT formulate a complete sentence. Not once. It started distracting me, and I actually got nervous for him. It got better through the night.
It sure leads to entertaining reading Sunday morning. I say dump "the queen of useless drivel" (great description). Her screech makes my tinnitus spike. I like Blair & JT. Weege would be awesome. To me Langston always came off as spuing pompous drivel. As mentioned above RC is just not good at what he is doing. Unfortunately as the GOAT, he is probably grandfathered in to that position for as long as he wants it. I guess that if it was an easy job they'd all be doing great. By the way, who was the brunette on Race Day Live. She could punt Screech over a berm any time!
So you're bitching about a bitch thread? Wouldn't that be like a double negative or something?
pointing out a fact....not bitching...now if I said something about all these bitches bitching that would bitching.....
