Actually think it could be the gap on the left side between the frame spare and side panel.  There is no gap like that on the right.

Look at a Honda, Same thing. Left side has a small gap between the frame and side panel for shock access.

Looks like it’s developed quite a bit from the prototype raced in the Japan nationals last season?  Frame and Swingarm appear different in Febvre’s bike compared to the one raced last year in Japan?  Or just my imagination.. hard to tell when it’s covered in mud!

Then I’ll never buy it. 🪓

16-18 kx450f was the best looking kx four stroke in my opinion.

Frame looks THICC

I think most of you guys need to go here:  https://www.tupperware.com/    More interested in looks and shapes of plastics than performance aspects.  100% of you will never get the most out of the capable current model, so worrying about frame geometry is the last of your worries!   Yeah does look a bit like a KTM, NOT!

The aesthetic 100% matters in this sport. You could compare this wilt the contours and design values of an expensive sports car or these obnoxiously large pick up trucks. If it matters for those things, it matters even more for a Supercross machine.

Sorry man, I fail to see how it 'matters'.  Really doesn't.  I see people making statements, 'how does it breathe, it must be shit'.  Yeah, sure, Kawasaki are known for building shit!   It'll be right on the money.  A slight change of plastics shape is not to change performance of the bike, in any way.   Not when the bikes have progressed to the point they are.  Kawasaki might say, 'we've shaved 2 mm from the width'.  Think about that.   Really, this is baby steps in advancements at this point. Nothing radical.

I do actually agree with your premise that a few mm here or there makes no difference to most of us, but I like seeing new stuff either way.

At A1, I spotted Justin Shantie performing a clutch swap on AC9's bike, and noticed a traditional multi spring clutch design.

Too bad this bike wasn't released as a 2023.5 for SX this year.

Until specs are released there is not a lot people can do other than comment on how something looks. Maybe I missed it, but I did not see anybody saying its horrible because they did not see a way for air to get to the airbox. Just people wondering how it gets there. The only person I saw saying it was shit , was the guy all worked up about people saying they like or dislike how it looks. And offering  a link to his tupperware sale. Since the bike is very muddy , could we maybe assume that Kawasaki could have a vented and solid airbox cover or covers , like the KTM brands do?  And its more closed up because of the wet and muddy conditions they are riding in?    

I like how it offers a smooth set of bodylines and flowing body , and more surface than some bikes . It should allow for  logos to be large enough that You can see and read them ( A pro for people trying to sell space on their graphics ,and not an issue for people who are not). And give people a lot of freedom with the designs and colors they pick to customize their bikes. Looks may not matter to everybody, but for the people who do let the looks impact the decision on to purchase or not purchase a bike. Making a bike that looks good to those people  will help sell it to them. And the people who do not care about how it looks, well will they care if the bike looks better to people who do care about looks?   I think as long as Kawasaki is not seeing a big lack of sales due to the people who are mad about people caring if they like how a bike looks , then Kawasaki is not going to care if people are upset about other people caring about the looks of a bike. 

The new shape of the sideplates makes it harder to fit decent sized numbers on them. But  it could change between now and production time. I think it will also look less bulky when its clean , and or there is less of one color being so dominant.  I like it, but it seems like bikes are all starting to look more and more alike . If that bike was all black, red,yellow ,etc. it would be harder to know what brand it is .  It isn't a big deal to me. Just seems like they are all less different from each other every new generation that comes out.  But maybe its just the period I grew up in. The 1990's and 2000's had some wildly different looking bikes. But before that , they were not dramatically different looking for the most part I guess.  Wonder if and when a new RMZ will show up. Or if they will skip an E start RMZ and ditch the gas part totally before the next generation bike comes?

My son races a 22 SR. Would love to see a new air filter design. We love the bike but HATE putting clean air filters on. 

Would also like to see it lose a few lbs.

I love the look and consider the 2012 KX450 to be one of the best bikes I have ever owned. I will be in the market for this 2024. 

Can’t wait for GP’s to start so we can get a better look at it.

I was all set on the new yz450 but think I'll wait for the kx
