It's not like I know him personally, but he did kind of come off as an ass sometimes.

Exactly.

disbanded-Don't hold your breath for Brooks to return to posting. Considering the amount of negativity on the forum this year, why would he?

Brooks contributed to the negativity. He kept returning with different screen names but his rants were so recognizable he would out himself. My favorite was the time L&M was going to grace the Nationals with its presence at one round, and Brooks went on a rant because Vital was not showing an acceptable level of interest. Lol. Some people are just not cut out for the internet.

That's awesome to see him in a manager position again.
I wish him & his team the best!

I never understood a lot of the negative stuff/posts about Larry and the whole L & M hate thing when all that went down....Leave Larry Alone Gate and all that stupid shit!
He's really a super nice guy and always has been - even at the peak of his career. I met him at Washougal back when he was still racing for Noleen and racing that 360 in the 500 Nats. He pulled into the pits after his first moto and putting in a decent ride riding the hell out of that 360 against factory 500's. Got off the bike tired... put it on a stand before his mechanic even had time to. I walked over to him and asked him about that 360 kit. He was still taking his helmet off and started cleaning his glasses answering any of my questions and was super nice. Most pro's would've been like... dude give me a bit let me catch my breath or just total rock star you. I always thought that was super cool of him. From people that know and have met him I've heard nothing but good things for the most part. He's a total moto man to the core and very passionate about the sport. Also when he was still racing the guy had more heart than anyone.

I talked to him in the pits at Washougal 88. Super freindly to me. I was always a fan of his. I had an 83 rm80 . Those mxa pics of him on that bike are incredible.I still have those mags too.

Late 80’s? I gave him a few Brooks Racing stickers (was name of a local jet ski shop) before custom stickers were around. He was stoked, gave me a jersey in return. Next race saw he used the stickers. Still have his jersey hanging on the shop wall next to Glover and Lechien.

I remember when Brooks posted here. It was the same as when any “insider” posts here. They come and get ran off.

They come, post the reality of something then get told by a few armchair managers / fans / know it alls - that what they are saying isn’t true or not how it is. From the other side of a computer and miles away they push buttons and get the “insider” to engage in a useless argument for the sake of just having the ability to. Then they threaten to not buy their product or use sponsors products and they disappear. It becomes not worth it to be here and engage with the real fans who enjoy the interaction.

Arguing with an “insider” has zero ramifications as a fan of the sport, but someone who makes a living in the industry does have something to lose. This is why we don’t see the ones who potentially have customers / sponsors / bill payers post in here. Someone will inevitably take it to “well screw you man, I used to buy products you endorse, now I won’t”(even though we will never know if they actually ever did, or were gonna)

There are a lot of great fans and bench racers here, but a few get disrespectful and brave to argue because of it not being face to face.

Happens all the time, you know this especially if you’ve been around since the OG days. It’s the world we live in now. The ability to openly be disrespectful and not get punched in the face. Welcome to the internet.

I’m stoked Brooks is managing the team, with his knowledge and guidance we can see some clean looking Suzukis up front. I hope he brought Dillan Schwartz with him. Maybe groom a youngster like Matt Leblanc.

Suzuki was my First bike/Raced. A 1975 TM 125 I bought for 300 bucks mowing lawns, shoveling snow...you know? all the stuff today's kids will not do.
It needed...well everything. it was what we called a Basket. Meaning everything was there but you have to put it together.

Long story short I raced it in a hair scramble at Delta,Ohio back in 1980. I didn't know it was a NATIONAL EVENT Whistling . Silly Silly I didn't get last but gained a ton of friends/Support.

My next bike was a 1981 RM125. What a Mistake, after the 78-80' years they had I thought for sure this bike was going to ROCK.

What I pile of SHIT!. What it did was taught me how to not let off...NEVER! I used the clutch. it was a FKIN dud. bought a CR after that and shit was Roses and Rainbows after that.

Hope Suzuki gets their shizz together. The MX scene is getting a lot of comers as of late.
Your senile in your old age. If you think kids today have it easy then you haven't thought about it. I feel bad for anyone growing up today, I wish they could experience things the way I did growing up. The 90's were the last of the good years.

His meltdown articles on mxa’s website were bloody hilarious. With a big paragraph at the end (or beginning, I can’t remember) in capitals asking people not to copy and past bits of pieces of the article on forums.

That’s was an awesome video! Thanks for posting that! When I was a kid, I dreamed of owning a new Rm80…. To most of us Non California guys that video was exactly what I envisioned California to be like … the MX Mecca…. I bet it was pure paradise back then to be a part of that scene…. Track in the hills at the end of a development? A proper MX school….Brand new Suzuki RM”s …
