I think he thought that the first time and then instead of saying he messed up he just stuck with it.

I thought the same thing. I think James saw Chase's head snap when he hit that rut and thought it was a look?

Regardless. James rocks it in the booth and I hope the use him for every round.

Just the right amount of humor, honesty and knowledge.

Love when he gave props to Everts for passing him on the outside hahaha

He sounds monotone and uninspired most of the time. Not taking away his knowledge of the sport by any means. He was just a bit boring to listen to. Glover is better in the booth.

I’m not the worlds number one js7 fan but he signed up to do a job that is next to impossible to do without criticism, and he’s done it damn well. You call him monotone, I appreciate him for being chill and not having a shriek voice. At least he knows the basics of the sport and is not bipolar about every racing incident (cough Ralph)

I thought the same thing. The team did a great job today. I specifically watched JT’s interviews and I like his quick transition out to let the riders get back to their prep.

Head turned sideways when his chinbar hit the crossbar pad.

Despite the crash(es,) Chase rode really well all day and might have still had something for Tomac. It just didn't turn out that way for him. I am truly impressed by this kid. I think 2023 will be the Chase Sexton show.

James is PHENOMENAL in the booth imo. It’s crazy to think the guy was one of the best to ever do it and then just disappeared for years seemingly leaving the sport somewhat behind and then chose to come back doing commentary. And he’s really good at it. James 2023 all season!!!

I thought Weedge said he is the first rider to win his first - and his last national - (like he has a live script writer - but didnt emphasise the LAST national part as much as he should have - because he didnt come up with it)

James literally gets you inside the mind of the racers. He is fun to listen to.

James is the first guy that tells you things we are all probably really curious about like when someone is slowing down a little, saying that the guys are exhausted during the race, saying Eli knew exactly where chase was and when he went down.. these are things only someone at James’ level can really explain, and I dont know we haven’t heard these little things before..

At least James don't get all over excited and hyper and yelling like Jason does on about every single corner on every lap...

I liked all the guest announcers. That was the theme, 50 years of motocross, mix it up. But yes, JS7 was great. I had zero issues with him in the booth. He's pretty funny. Glad to see this side of him.

When he fist came into the sport, I think the media overwhelmed him and did him a disservice.

Exactly why they mentioned Hangtown 2010 and his 12 years of outdoor racing.

The monitor they are watching the races are on tiny. It’s sad how much the commentators can’t see because of how small the setup is.

He reminds me of Bailey in some ways. Not quite as analytical, but can really capture what is going on in a rider's head. Does an awesome job!

James did great. He would catch things, such as Chase going down again in the second moto, years before Weege.

But I love having a different guy at each race. It really was good and hope they continue that. It brings much more interest in actually listening to the commentary.

The great thing about James is he doesn't have any weird "isms" that he repeats over and over like RC does. Hopefully he'll be back next year.

But yeah I do think he was wrong about Chase's supposed look over. It did kinda look like that at first though.

Agree, James gives us his version of what the racer is thinking and doing….and who better to do it than him. He probably should recognize when he could be wrong tho. Cognitive Dissonance is a common issue with champions geared to believe in themselves no matter what.

If James effffing Stewart said he looked over, who am I to question him? I'm not going to believe my lyin eyes.

The funniest thing about Bubba's broadcasting is calling passes early. Hey James, just cuz you would have got him there doesn't mean the rest of the world is capable. lol

Overall, he was a breath of fresh air even though he seemed a little more reserved than at Budds. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the sport is better with him in it.

You’re kidding I hope. “I suspect….” “It ain’t over..” “this is where he’s going to pass…”

He did a nice job but like all the rest, he most definitely has his isms.

James and Blair in the booth for SX would be a deadly combo.
