Looks like it already comes with a pipe stock.

Looks great to me. Kinda the same design language as previous but much improved ! Which is a good thing.

I can’t tell from pictures but it looks like a weird bar pad, did they add a steering stabilizer or was that just a rumor?
No, they didn't just a weird pad.

The thing I was most intrigued by when I found out about some of the changes is the new transmission layout. Curious how that thing shifts and feels. Transmission changes can make or break a good bike.

Like you, I have my own opinion of it. It’s like the new KTM’s. In my opinion one of, if not the worst, looking KTM 4 strokes to date but others like them.

Don't worry, it's the norm here on Vital.

I agree with you that it’s fugly. I wasn’t going to buy one anyway, but you’re not wrong in my opinion.

2023 SXF - 226 lbs dry (7.2L of gasoline ~ 11 lbs)
2023 CRF - 245 lbs wet
2023 KX - 243 lbs wet
2023 RMZ - 247 lbs wet

With a full gas tank and if you put the KYB suspension on the KTM it'd weigh the same as the Yamaha maybe even sightly heavier. With gas the KTM is 236 and the suspension weight difference is a few pounds I don't know how much exactly. And obviously the KYB suspension has superior performance to the stock WP stuff.

Also looks like I'll have a new intake scoop to design. . .
Looks good but a wise man would wait for the reviews. I remember when the 2010 was unveiled and it turned out to be the biggest pile...

OEM graphic designers just phoning it in these days. The bike needs some white to break up the monotone look and make it look "finished".

Beyond that though, the bike sounds and looks amazing! The body lines will work great for creative graphic designers, and all the mechanical improvements sound spot on. Can't wait to try it.

It actually looks more like the previous gen ktm. Particularly the rad shrouds.

3-5 lbs if going to spring in most cases. I think lucky carbons we’re only about .5lb heavier then the aer stuff though.

Agreed. The front fender and number plate remind me of the YZ 65.

Is it just me, or, except the CRFs, are bikes getting fuglier with every new generation?

Overall I think the target areas are pretty much right on what they should be. Looks slimmer, probably better ergos, lighter (5lbs), new clutch is nice. I'm happy they didn't implement an electric steering damper as was rumored. Not a huge fan of the looks in some areas. The front number plate and fender is odd. I assume it's smaller as part of the effort to keep weight down but it looks weird. The shroud looks like the previous KTM, in a way. And I don't like the exhaust sticking out again. But overall, I think it seems like they hit the areas that people complained about, which is nice. They may have overhyped it to the point of thinking it was going to be something completely unexpected and wild, but in a way I'm glad that it wasn't.

Chiz give us a ride report
It is really good! And I’ve gotten to spend quite a bit of time on it already. I’ll be doing a podcast with Matthes shortly to talk about it so look for that! But it is all around improved! 👍🏼

Would like to see a side by side with current KX. Side of the bike looks like somewhat similar shapes of plastic on the shroud/side plate
