For clarity, my leaving is simply a business move. Vital is going one direction and I’ve decided that it’s best for me to go another. That’s it. I wish all these guys the best and I’ll be seeing them all regularly at the track.

As far as the fire service goes, I took a leave of absence in the fall. There are many factors, including vaccine and mask mandates, staffing issues and the simple fact that I was away from my family too much. Without going into detail, Covid caused massive worker shortages in every field, and we were no exception. I was being forced to work around 20 days per month… that’s twenty 24-hour shifts. Being gone that much is very hard on a family… especially having teenage girls, Lord help me. Anyway, that’s why the long hair and beard. Planning to return to the job later this summer once my new projects are off and running.

It makes me chuckle when I hear people say that I’m a crazy conspiracy theorist. I believe in God, family, the United States constitution and the smallest possible government to protect our rights and freedoms as a republic. I guess I’m really out there.

Cheers
Being expected to work that amount of hours is not healthy for your home life, ( this from someone who used to work min 50hrs every week with a young family 🤬) respect for taking time out 👍

For clarity, you and your hypocritical opinion should be doing your own thing. That way, when it fails, you have no one else to blame but yourself.

See you around, Ace!

Some of you guys, I swear I just don't understand... Occasionally, people have difference of opinions and they come and go... It happens. All of these don't let the door hit you in the ass comments really aren't necessary. Ping does a pretty good job with his media content on Whiskey Throttle, Instagram, etc... I don't see the need to be douche, just because he is no longer here. WTF ever. I promise you, the same Dude's bitch'n about Ping will still listen to WTS...
Reading through the comments here, there is definitely a handful of individuals still stewing over his vaccination views. At this point, they would sound like an imbecile to say it out loud here, so instead, they just respond with a pointless insult. I guess they feel better?

If you watch these threads over the years you see a pattern. Moto celebrity getting grilled for a few pages. Moto celebrity comes in, makes a statement, and you get a few more pages of pure love for said moto celebrity.

As far as censoring, banning, clicking goes, IMO GuyB was a NAZI compared to ML. ML seems to be pretty light handed in these regards.

The biggest problem with Vital is that we are not all moto insiders. I'm just a fan. I don't know any industry insiders. I come here as a pure fan. If I make a disparaging remark about a rider, it's not personal as I don't know that rider. But the staff of Vital, they do know them, so they take it as a personal attack on their buddy.

Bob Hannah is a good example of what I mean. Bob's public persona is one of an arrogant asshole. People tell me that Bob Hannah the private man is not like that. But why chastise me when I call Bob Hannah the racer an arrogant asshole, after-all, that's his brand. Dungey's brand is the clean cut All American boy next door. The racers all have a brand they present.

It's almost like moto fans aren't really welcome here, it's just for the cool kid industry insiders.

It's like Pro Motocross simultaneously wants to stay small and cool and exclusive and simultaneously become big and mainstream.

Just my observations.
Shit is funny. It’s all “don’t let the door hit ya” before he posts a response, then after it’s “PING 2024!”

“ I believe in God, family, the United States constitution and the smallest possible government to protect our rights and freedoms as a republic“ …….and a bunch of conspiracy theories

The very definition of a conspiracy theory is “ conspiracy theory, an attempt to explain harmful or tragic events as the result of the actions of a small powerful group. Such explanations reject the accepted narrative surrounding those events; indeed, the official version may be seen as further proof of the conspiracy.”
https://www.britannica.com/topic/conspiracy-theory

Ping regularly tweets (before and after saying he was off Twitter….Which lasted 3 weeks) about a small group of people manipulating everyone, Bill Gates’s, Big Pharma, cabals creating the climate change hoax to control people and get power, same for Covid, social media conspiracies blah blah blah
He tweets that people should learn about statistics, but then claims all scientific literature with stats that don’t support his views are just lies by organizations that have been “bought” by those really in charge.
He tweets about free speech on Twitter, but blocks those who disagree with him.

I really like Pings content, but one look at his Twitter confirms he is a conspiracy theorist. At this point, Ping just own it, you can realise you are a conspiracy theorist, but still think you are right.
I like your content, I don’t agree with your views, but I don’t care, keep putting out good content and live your life how you want. But don’t get butt hurt when people think your views are nuts (just as you think other people’s views are nuts)

I've been around a while and I've never seen GuyB take a run at anyone that wasn't being a bit of an A-hole. To me, it doesn't seem any better, or worse, with ML in charge. Same old Vital and it is what you make it.

I Totally understand Ping ! This place is definitely going the wrong way and becoming to be more on the woke side . Censoring stuff and kicking off members , basically nothing like when I signed on in 2008. People on this site and the moderators are a bunch of crying babies and turning Moto into bowling!
WTF are you talking about.

Far less "kicking off" of members here than before ML took over. Who gets kicked off now sure seem to be the ones who really deserve it.

As for Ping. I'm bummed he won't be around here anymore. I am a fan. I like his no BS style. I will continue to support whatever content he does wherever he is. It's clear why some people here have issues with him, the very cancel culture crowd that has destroyed society.

You are not someone I would get along with very well in person. And for the record, I have an engineering degree with extensive background in science and industry along with decades of actual real world experience behind my education. I'm not getting into any internet sword fights. In this world, generally people fall into 3 categories: sheep, wolves, and shepherds. I'm not either of the first two. Best of luck to you.

The country needs more people with Pings priorities and convictions…on the important stuff…we can all disagree on dirt bike stuff as it’s of little consequence and doesn’t matter.

Certainly, I could be wrong, that is why I posed it as a question. I believe he stated this on Whiskey Throttle Show though. My point was from the perspective of a lot of the people who write for dirt bike riders a lot of them have never actually bought their own bike. Ever.

My dad knew his dad back in the Great Falls days. He had a couple of stereo/electronics stores and was doing pretty well, but I don’t think he was making ‘helicopter to the races’ money.

I could be off base but I thought Ping mentioned on WTS his dad or dad’s buddy had a small plane and occasionally flew to a couple races with a 65 or 85 in the back. I’m sure it looked like they were hot shit but the way he explained it was it just happened to be available and they did a couple times.

I just watched the last video. I thought he came across as acknowledging differences but did not seem to hold any ill will towards those that had differing opinions. Just my two cents.

Can we really agree his role at Vital was great? There was a “sticky” thread 10 pages long where he answered things. Either wasn’t paid anything, or didn’t do his job. new thread each week by ping would have kept it going. It was executed badly, not sure who is at fault. wish him the best, I feel he will do just fine.

What does your (or anyone else’s education) have to do with wether ping is a conspiracy theorist or not? I never mentioned anyone’s education.
And congrats, it sounds like you have a similar background to me, I have a degree in Mech Eng and have been developing vehicles for major OEMs for 15 years. But can’t for the life of me figure out what our occupation has to do with this conversation?
The simple fact is, ping regularly tweets about the problems in todays world being the result of the actions of a small powerful group. Such explanations reject the accepted narrative surrounding those events.
Do you not think Pings tweets reflect that definition?
I don’t know ping, he is probably a good dude, he is a conspiracy theorist, there is nothing wrong with it.
Congrats on being a self proclaimed shepherd, best of luck to you too.

You have unknowingly created comedy gold right there.

I've been around a while and I've never seen GuyB take a run at anyone that wasn't being a bit of an A-hole. To me, it doesn't seem any better, or worse, with ML in charge. Same old Vital and it is what you make it.
GuyB clicked me once. I'm still bitter about it. I may never heal from it.

I called Villapoto a C Class communicator. It was when Villo had been to Europe, then came back to the US and allegedly wasn't taking to anyone, not even Kawi if I recall correctly. Not that harsh of a statement IMO.

So GuyB calls me a D-Class poster and clicks me.

That's when I formed my opinion that Vital is not a normal sports forum. No negative remarks about the riders allowed it seemed.

Now fast forward to today, we all now know Villo seems like a down to earth, cool and funny guy. We see his new brand.

I hope GuyB is no longer an admin, he'll click me again.

Accepted narrative isn’t always the truth, sure. But these days many folk seem to think accepted narrative is NEVER the truth
