I saw the Lawrence brothers have a fans section at Pala for a price that is less than half of VIP tickets. No info on where the setup is on the track layout. Shade, food/drink included. Does anyone know if it’s in a good viewing area? Thanks for any info you may be able to pass along

Hey I’m just a spectator who has 50+ years of experience, I don’t want to be put in the same viewing area as some punk kid on a scooter drinking Monster energy all day.

No way they should be letting all us spectators into a free for all without any attempt to separate us into our viewing skill levels.

Viewing at pala is pretty rough unless you want to walk around throughout the day. I’m always content sitting by the furthest east part of the track with the big 180 turn on the hill. Being an easy up and get there early so you have flat ground to setup on.

Shade, food, and drinks sounds like a win win. I think last time I paid $10 for a breakfast burrito that had cut up hotdog instead of ham.

I can see myself getting a bit bored of these Lawrence brothers soon. Lucas Mirtl couldn't ram those two down our throat anymore if tried...

That turn is where I watched one of the motos last year, it is a good viewing spot. The VIP area has a decent view but the price is pretty steep for what you get. The Lawrence one sounds like a better deal but I have no idea where it’s set up

I’m already there. I appreciate what they do on a motorcycle, but man I’m so sick of them being shoved down our throats and now having a special VIP section at a race? Why has no one else had that?

Weege had a nice article on the racer x website basically saying “tough shit” to everyone who hates how hard they are pushing them. Super classy.

If there’s one thing moto media (Weigant especially) is good at, it’s this crap. I’ve got no doubt they’ll inevitably make people dislike the Lawrence brothers and it’s a shame because they seem like awesome people.

Its like a cool song that gets overplayed on the radio. Don't hold it against the Lawrence brothers. I like the young lads. Just tired of the constant hype machine. Moto media needs to turn it down about 3 notches IMO.

Last year it was set up on the infield on the start side of the track. Atleast that’s where the Donut fan zone was.

I’ll be out and about again. Mostly on the hill, but will venture down to the infield for a moto.

“ Why has no one else had that?”

Probably because no one’s as dynamic in marketing themselves and just deliver the same old boring promotions instead. Imagine how much more attractive promos like this are to sponsors.

Nothing stopping anyone else doing it except apathy.

Down to earth kids, but Mirtl’s definitely building them a rocket!
Mirt’s DONT turn them into Greg Norman please. Let’s keep them the non-wankers that they are and keep sight of the mission to win championships not fame.
That comes automatically for champions

They are a sponsors/promoters/series dream, wtf do you guys expect?

You want to grow the sport, you need to promote your (future) superstars

The Jett Donut section was way in the back of the track last year, in a bad viewing area.

I'm guessing that it will be close to that this year again.

Thanks so much for posting this Brent,
I’m gonna pass on it and go with the VIP section that has some decent viewing. I appreciate your info👍
I never realized the Lawrence Bros was a touchy subject around here 😂

Exactly. Hunter for instance, grew on me a ton due to a recent interview after a race where the media was practically begging him to say that he would have had Craig’s number if this had happened differently or that, or a bad race never happened. Hunter flatly refused to take the bait. Zero excuses made by him no matter how hard the post race media tried. He seems like a great young man. I don’t feel like I’ve seen who the actual Jett is with the massive media machine behind him. The Aussies say they are both good kids from a good family and I believe them. They aren’t the issue but they’ll eventually take the brunt of the obvious media favoritism.

Best way to put it, it’s admirable what they’re achieving but I think the media is coming on a little strong and fans are getting turned off.

It’s like dating, and they’re saying I love you way too quickly.

No different than a young quarterback getting his own fan section in the end zone and people thinking it’s a little weird.

Not everybodies out to talk shit about growing the sport man. Literally nobody even said that.

Bravo I guess.

But if you can't make the connection I don't know what else I can say.

Can someone honestly tell me why we need to "grow the sport"? Whats wrong with it the way it is? Im tired of hearing this.

We are on prime time TV. Bikes are selling. Gear is selling. Athletes are making millions a year. Factory Semi rigs have CNC'd foam drawer liners and a separate air conditioned cry rooms?

Id say that's pretty grown. Can we just make it more organic and less "lame story time hype train" every week?

We got to this strong foundation by just being moto...

Because motocross is a shadow of its former self.
Sales of bikes are down, gear sales down, attendances are down.
Look back to the early 80,s, the glory days.
Mountain biking has grown 20 fold, whist motocross has shunk 20 fold.

Motocross is the only sport where an athlete can make a big deal about liking donuts and the vast majority of fans call him a "marketing genius". I guess it's fun and all for the kids, but I really don't need to act fake excited about a donut membership club that is on the same property where the coolest sport in the world is taking place.
