This is shitty news. Always had a soft spot in my heart for Suzuki to keep trucking along in both MX and MotoGP.

It really sucks to see Suzuki fold up a second time. That 34 Kevin Schwantz Lucky Strike bike has to be one of the most iconic race bikes ever. Hopefully Rins ends up with a good ride somewhere, that guy has championship talent.

MotoGP tream probably freeing up from what i was told upto $60 million a year.
Will they use this free'd up funds to start more racing with bikes you can buy?

Yeah, the noise will kill the idea eventually.
Just doesn’t make sense that we‘re slowly getting rid of the noise on the streets and then put hundreds of big drone in the sky above the cities.

Suzuki is relevant where? Have you seen the numbers of dirt bikes they sell. I'm surprised they can justify keeping the production line running.

Why are you lot so quick to look at the bad side of this?

What if freeing up the Moto GP money means spending begins on MX again??

Suzuki are by no means short of money. They just change their mind where they spend it now and then.

big companies choose where to spent money, its not a sign of money shortage. krnny roberts jr won the gp 500 title in 2000 because his father pull some strings in the bike development. suzuki didnt want to buy a state of the art aerodynamic tunnel (suzuki only had a static one) so kenny roberts sr helped his son with his connections. that doesnt mean suzuki struggled in late 90's/early 00's, in fact was doing pretty well in car/bike sales then but thats irrelevant like it is now...

How does the motogp budget compare with mx? Could this mean they put 10% of it back to moto and save the 90%? Wishful thinking I know...

When Kawasaki pulled out of MotoGP they gave Johny Hopper's bike to a privateer team to get out of their Dorna obligations didn't they? Barry Sheene is rolling over in his grave.

I mean they are always getting marketing from doing the 'wrong' thing. For the past 20 years that I've paid attention it has always looked like Suzuki was on their last strand. But here we are talking about them.

On PulpMX last night, Steve said he received a text from a credible source that Suzuki was really going hard to get AC signed for next year before he signed back on to Kawi and that Keefer was hinting at a new/updated bike for the 2024 model.

I know Steve and AC are pretty close/friendly with each other so I don’t see why he’d make something like that up. Pretty wild if so! Sounds like they are ready to put some money back into it if they’re chasing after AC.

I mean, the Duc has a 10+ km/h top speed advantage at most tracks. Quarataro's incredible entry/mid corner speed is so often negated by the Yamaha's lack of acceleration its brutal. Guy just watches Miller, Bagnaia and Bastianini simply drive away from him down the straights. Or he'll make a great pass only to have the Duc fly right back by on the straights.

It may be small margins that we're playing with, but they're very important ones that are very easily noticeable on the race track.

Totally agree - going those speeds just amplifies the smallest margins. I recall Rossi a few years back talking about how slow his bike was...seemed so funny at the time. When you're getting smoked on the straights (even if you're going 215 mph) it's gotta be demoralizing....

New Suzukis in 2024. Hopefully they just copy the best ideas from the rest and come out with a great bike.
