NBC Supercross is becoming Unwatchable.

Mute + FF = I don't care about the announcers. If you've watched the sport more than a couple years, their commentary adds nothing to your understanding. I either watch Sun morning or for Eastern time zone races, start watching 2 hours after the program starts. Then I FF and only watch the bits I care about.

I said last night that I ff through the last 10 minutes of the 450 main. I stopped and watched when Barcia crashed. The constant Will Christian rambling beats me down and I mute her. She is on the preview of the 450 main and before the 1st lap is over the break to her for what ? It's freaking the same shit every race nothing new. Blair breaks down the track and has rider insight with RC. I can't for the life of me figure out what the production team is going for week after week.

Then there's the director. Hey here's a great race up front. Lets see whats going on in 21st place for the next ten minutes.

Does NBC lose their contract next year?

Im not going to call out the problems. Ill just say it was the BEST its ever been during the Olympics.

In my perfect world...every rider would have to wear a go-pro and I could switch between any one of them during the race. Everyone gets to see what they want...and if you miss it...it's yer own fault.

They’ll never please everyone as far as commentators go. Sometimes I think the directing sux, but no doubt it’s a hard job. However, it shouldn’t be too hard to get the basics right:

#1 Call the action on the track.
#2 Don’t ever have full screen replays during a race.
#3 Leave the personal interest/ background stories for between races.

e.g. I love Reedy and normally listen to what he has to say, but having the long interview piece about Tomac’s record during the Main race last night was bullshit. Never heard a thing he said, I was trying to watch a race….

^^^^ This.

They need to STOP putting all the crap over the actual racing. The Reed thing was ridiculous.

As for the main commentators....I have no issue with RC, Diffey...and even Ralph was okay.

FFS....someone stuff a sock in Wills mouth.

I think they should call the entire broadcast in Spanish with sub titles for a few rounds. Then it will give you guys something to really whine about and appreciate what we have now. I hardly ever pay attention to what's being said because I already know what's happening on the track.

I think the broadcast is actually pretty good. I start watching about an hour after the show starts. On my phone I watch each heat, and then LCQ's but just the racing. Sometimes I'll watch the podium interviews, but I fast forward through all the crap. Then when it's time for the mains I cast it to my TV. I know it's the cool thing in our society to be outraged right now, but life's good, I've got no complaints.

I can usually put up with the craziness for the most part, but it was absolutely ludacris to cut away from live racing this weekend to show full screen replays of Barcias birthday Instagram posts. That is something that has literally zero relevance to the race in front of us and could easily be included in the fluff/filler pieces in between races. It does not belong midrace, especially when the people who give a shit whether it's Barcias birthday would have seen it on Instagram during the week already...

With the runaway last weekend I can understand the drama pieces. Non-vitards may tune out and not come back. A wish would be a second tier of service that would stick to the racing with no ads and no empty camera shots.

There’s some stuff that gets a bit frustrating, but nothing is more frustrating than paying for peacock which had no commercials and now being stuck watching those stupid political and woke NBC commercials. Please just give us back the view of the track from the top of the stadium while they are working on the track between races.
I thought one of the selling points of peacock supercross was to be ad free and like you said about the track view in between races, what happened to that? is there a genuine answer as to why there are 10 minutes of commercials now when there was none or basically none last year?

I was watching the F1 race this weekend and they were doing some of the same stuff that seems to frustrate everyone here every weekend (cut away from the action for some other random story). It was a race for the lead between Verstappen and Leclerc. Good part about the F1 app is you can simply select Verstappen's or Leclerc's in car camera on the app and watch the race from their vantage point. Extra bonus: no commentating and the audio you hear is right from that in car camera. Extra extra bonus: you hear the driver and team talking over their radio.

Be good if we all got over the broadcast complaint of the minute and started pushing for more technology in the coverage. There is no reason why a front mounted camera on every bike can be made to stream the race from that vantage point (ie: behind the number plate)

It's live and HD ,some people are just never happy.
"Because of the progression of technology that has occurred in the developed world over the past 50 years, how dare you criticize a group of people who are paid to operate this technology for not using it to its fullest potential". It's not like the guys who broadcast SX invented modern TV production, we don't owe them eternal benefit of the doubt for their weekly shortcomings. It does not take an NFL or MLB budget to understand that cutting away from a LIVE RACE is not what fans are interested in.

The whole "be grateful you can watch it live" argument is so overblown and illogical. For hundreds of thousands of years, people had to walk or ride on horses to get anywhere. Now, we have these cars, which somebody from 200 BC would view as magical.

When we complain about a certain car being unreliable, unsafe, etc., do people respond "your ANCESTORS didn't have cars, just be grateful man! Always something to complain about with you" ? No, because that is an absolutely insane response.

We are blessed with amazing technologies at the present moment, and there are people in this world that are paid a lot of money to use these technologies and make something that consumers are satisfied with. It is our right to have complaints when we feel certain aspects of products are insufficient.

We are spoiled over here. Have you ever watched an NFL game with Chris Collinsworth, Joe Buck, or Troy Aikman? Now that is painfull. I'll take Ricky and whoever else they put in the other seat all day. I would pay good money to punch Collinsworth in the face. I'm also all for getting rid of the English broad and bringing back the girl with the cute voice/ face though.

Holy %#$*!

Have any of you tried to watch a replay recently? Unskippable commercials throughout??? WTF?

Edit: Ok, so just upgraded to the $10 per month plan. Commercials are gone in the replays. No big deal. I’ll just be canceling the subscription at the end of each season instead of letting it run all year. Blood pressure is on its way down now lol

Unfortunately I’m somewhat embarrassed watching with people that don't know the sport well. I was watching the recap the other day on my phone and my wife looked at me like I was crazy and asked if I was watching WWE wrestling. My dad raced his whole life, I started racing when I was 3 and grew up around it so I never saw it from an outsiders perspective until the last few years. These guys are athletes they train their asses off and I think they deserve to be commentated with some professionalism.

The show is not dedicated to make a few hundred hardcore guys off Vitalmx happy. My buddies neighbor who is a flight nurse for the Coasties up here in Humboldts birthday was Saturday. No one outside my buddy and I knew about the sport. Put it on and a bunch of guys there were in awe of Sextons crash and the one's they showed from weeks prior. The wives loved the segments with the kids and the Staysic commercials. That's the demographic they're looking for. They have us, and I introduced about 25 people to the sport because of the way the broadcast was done. You gotta take the good with the bad.

Regardless if it were in Spanish they would still show full screen clips from a week ago during the live race...

The commentators need to talk about the race instead of talking about the riders. 30 seconds into a race and they are already wanking off the rider in 1st place instead of calling the on track action. After watching F1 and MotoGP it so hard to listen to these retards in the booth chat absolute shite. They seem to talk about anything other than whats happening on screen. Ricky says the same lines every week like its a check list "he's in a perfect position here"(5th in the lcq). Why can't we have a shot of the whole floor of the stadium during qualifying? Can we also watch all the finishers of a race before adverts? Can we stop the full screen interviews and replays mid race? Can some explain to them that we are interested in watching the battle for 9th in the heats and 4th in the lcq. If people are paying to watch the races why do we get spoken to like it's our 1st time watching? Explaining the same thing every weekend. And what the fuck is science of supercross? They really do think we are idiots. With that and the commentary you have the 2 greatest riders in the sport sounding and presented like complete idiot's
I agree for sure. The talking to everyone like its the first time we are all seeing it is so beyond lame. 90% of the fans are racers/previously were racers, family members of racers, and motocross company employees. They revolve the entire show on trying to make it easy for someone new to watch and understand. They do it every week and cost themselves way to much money, time, and effort. Its 5x more expensive to get a new customer vs retaining current customers. And Feld is running out of money. They need to start acting like we've all been watching MX for 2 decades just like they have.
We all watched the drama in qualifying. Show that once during an intermission, NOT DURING THE RACING. And another thing, WHY AM I PAYING FOR A STREAMING SERVICE JUST TO SEE ADVERTISEMENTS? I'm pretty sure that's not how streaming works. You wouldn't pay for that Youtube Red only to get ads still, this is no different. It makes no sense. NBC needs to stay away from sports period.

They need a new "dedicated to racing" strategy with the TV broadcast for sure. Bring back David Bailey and Art Eckman.
or Todd Harris and Jason Weigant.

There are things about the broadcast that get me worked up, but I’m always left satisfied and appreciative of the racing and getting to watch it live.

I almost always re-watch the race immediately the racing has been so good.

You mirror just exactly what old school nascar fans said 20 yrs ago.
Those of us who were glued to the television during the, Petty, Pearson, Rudd, Earnhardt, bias ply tire era, were quickly turned off during the early days of the fox sports broadcasting for that very reason.

They focused all of their resources on new fans, turning it into more of a personality soap opera broadcast, than a race broadcast.
Led by that idiot waltrip and his boggity bullshit.

That's just one of the reasons that sport is in the toilet today.
Sold out true fans for those "new fans" who bailed after a few years.
Luckily the series still has the ability to generate the money to survive.

I doubt feld has such deep pockets when tv tatings drop, and large segment of seats in the stadiums are covered to hide the fact that nobody's sitting in them.

I’ve had the pit came idea for years charge me five more dollars a month or whatever put a camera in every pit and you can scroll and pick which team you wanna watch work on bikes or whatever. sponsors get more exposure also you could have a camera on the dozer itself the GoPro dozer it seems so simple and very doable

My kid and I watch the races on Peacock on Sunday morning or afternoon. We skip all the nonsense and just go straight to the best racing of the night which is usually the LCQ's. Then we suffer through the two main races by just turning off the audio. When we want to watch a real race with real announcers and real production values we watch MotoGP.

NBC please make the audio commentary on a separate subscription, if it is added value in your opinion.

I would love to just have the real sounds of the stadium. We know what is going on, we are not dumb.

Did you notice how they cut to commercial so aggressively at time, they cut their own sentences. Ughhh

You guys complaining about us complaining... your great great grandfather used to walk barefoot to work, I get it. I remember these times too.
But it is legit to complain when things that should be better are not.
Don't settle for mediocrity and be complacent about it. We are paying for this. This is OUR sport. This is a forum to speak our mind.
I agree. They would jump back to 15th place then you would hear the crowd, so you knew something happened and you missed it.

They need to do something about the Peacock commercials. My kid went to bed scared because they kept showing commercials for a show about a serial killer. He is 6. He doesnt need to watch that shit.
