As a representative imposter lead manager of The Ken corporation. I channeled his thoughts threw his World Championship Ktm 250f. Yes us Naitive Americans hv that ability. Ken will be Racing a 2004 redesigned double boost port CR125 for remainder of his racing days. It will b a Full challenge as Ken will seek out the fastest 125 riders in the world. I scaled a ld in Chicago land his 250f was there. I asked the lady if I could take it for a rip. She said I think they took engine parts off it, so it wouldn’t get stolen. I said the riders from Germany he,s a World champion his name is Ken. The gal got excited and said oh really.

Hopefully its not the last we've seen of Kenny. The Epstein Barr virus lie has been perpetuated in this sport for so long. Why not just come out and say, "my heads just not right, I need to go home and work on some things to get my speed and confidence back". Because that's what the real story is every time we hear about E.B.. Said rider is usually in a slump and then they come out with a press release claiming this rare virus. ONLY in moto have I ever heard of Epstein Barr.

Somehow I've only heard of it in motocross community. Never outside this sport. Coincidence?, NO. And like I said, every rider that has had it has the same story. Riding unlike themselves when they are healthy, pulling off track, results terrible, speed not all there. Look up the EBV and motocross article from Racer X. So many riders have had it, you think that was its own pandemic.

Even though he has mentioned bike setup, I think his illness means he cannot setup/control the bike to his liking, its evident in the whoops this year which used to be his strong point
Early onset fatigue and then blames the setup? I'm sure he's frustrated.

Most of us have the virus inside of us, in a latent state. When athletes are over-trained and not allowed proper recovery, the immune system is compromised and the virus takes over. Once this happens the only way the immune system can recover is rest. When you try to fight through it, it just gets worse.

I feel like a lot of the athletes in our sport are over-trained, under-nourished, and not allowed proper recovery. It makes sense we would have a high occurrence of EBV. It is not unique to motocross, though. It is a problem in all endurance sports or endeavors that stress the immune system.

I think all there is to know lies in his comment, "I still owe them a championship." Not that he still really wants to race, not that he can hardly wait to ride his bike every time he wakes up and gets out of bed, not that he's still desperately in love with the sport - no - just something he has to do because he feels a tremendous sense of guilt and obligation.

Honorable, yes, quite, but that mentality won't win a race, let alone a championship. I'm a fan of Ken's down to my toes, but he's a million miles from the guy who showed up in that NSX dressed in a custom-tailored suit and sat down next to Dungey in his Carharrt's like he was just about to set every record there is.

Every dog has his day, but no dog has EVERY day.

It is pretty interesting that most of the world took off work so they wouldn't get sick just a little while ago, yet Ken Roczen takes off work because he is sick and "fans" judge him harshly. Hypocrites, heal up soon Kenny, best wishes to you and your family. It was a pleasure watching you ride.

I am not judging Kenny at all, I just wish he was upfront about this being a mental health issue. Maybe he isn't even being honest with himself, though.

I don’t think “took off work” is the right phrase.

Not judging him, I hope the best. He is lucky to be in the position he is in life and to take time like that. My work would say see ya later

My point was, is that it was perfectly OK to most people for the planet to stay home from work due to just the threat of illness, while Kenny gets criticized for staying home because he is actually ill. As individuals we have no right to judge the seriousness of his illness to him, but past evidence shows Ken will not allow even an arm being almost tore off preventing him from competing. Unlike most of us, he has to compete at the highest athletic levels.

Ever hear of Mono? The kissing disease? It's the same thing... A guy's daughters I work with currently have it. I remember there always being big talks in high school when people would start catching it.

Crashing and getting hurt changes your mindset. Everyone is different. Some can't overcome it no matter how fast they are.

I think you’re forgetting one popular American that always got an incredible amount of grief from fans, media, other racers for his lack of focus, mental stability, health, etc. Especially from 2002-2005. Imagine if Racer X ran a cover these days asking if Ken was finished?

I don't get how so many of you can easily conclude its a mental health issue. The guys been through way worse with his arm injuries/recovery, you think a few bad results is going to put him off his game? I don't think Kenny is that type of person. Even struggiling with bike issues, I don't think his results would be as bad as they have been. Imo, it is a medical condition....maybe a latent effect from the shingles?

Reminds me about Stoner´s late career.

https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/stoner-stunning-anxiety-revelati…

"I would literally be curled up on the motorhome floor, sick as a dog, stomach in knots.

"I did not want to race. I could not feel any worse, any more apprehensive.

"I felt the pressure from the team, from everyone that had ever helped me, all the rest of it. You've got a team of up to 70 people there, and especially when you're the number one rider, and everyone is expecting you to win every weekend, that built on me.

"And I only realised that after I finished my career, why I used to struggle so much with it.

"Then I got my own little mantra that helped me in the last couple of years, which was, you can only do what you can do, and you cannot do more than that."

Stoner has battled chronic failure syndrome for many years, which first reared its head back in 2009 when he was sidelined for three races.

The battle with CFS has followed him into retirement, something he detailed back in late 2019.

Fascinating article, I have always wondered if James experienced this during his 2005 AMA Outdoor season when he was having stomach issues. Our psychological state can have a huge impact on our digestive situation.

I'm a professional psychology clinician. A lot of my work involves working with individuals who suffer from PTSD. I have experienced this personally and witnessed it more times than I can count professionally, but when we try to avoid or neglect our emotional experiences they will be forced to get our attention through physical issues/illnesses.

If Ken's issues are psychological it: (1) makes perfect sense with what all he has been through. (2). His system is doing what it can to protect itself.

Ryno once raced southwick with a broken leg
Ryno once won an arm wresting contest with both hands tied behind his back.
Ryno also got his ass kicked at Mammoth by a kid half his age, that kid was Michael Lapaglia! Lapaglia wrestled Ryno's shit talking ass to the ground and tied him up like a pretzel.... was hilarious!!

I had mono 9th grade summer it was a wo 1. My chic miss Jonette had a mega bash at her house. Our parents took a couple days to figure out how to ground us and pay for the thousands of dollars damage to her house. We layed in the grass sleeping together at the mall entrance, we both had mono and where wiped out. I also had shingles at 9 that was extreme stress from a literally crazy family situation. 2 nights ago my body shutdown from driving 20-37 hrs straight with no day off since 12-27. Massive shooting stomach pain few hrs of extreme diarrhea. And throwing up lactic acid for 6 hrs. My ribs and cartridge still hurts. Your body can take a lot of abuse but when it shuts you down to keep you from moving . It’s really bad. I had to multitask in the trk yard. I could hardly walk. Get well Ken.

The bike is here if ya want to check it out. Sound sleep is extremely important also. 3 nights recently I had to shut the trk off the pile driving pounding from blown injectors was too much. It was 18-34 degrees I froze. I can never sleep with the ac on, my whole body cramps up. Your body does a lot of healing in your sleep. Typical cage we hv to wait in

No excuse!
We’ve got three guys in the top four who have swapped BRANDS! They don’t have last years data yet they’re doing just fine!

Quit with the silly excuses.

Travis was a fan favorite like Ken. But when he started having his issues in 2002, everyone (fans included) was telling him to quit freestyle, see a shrink, hire a trainer, take it seriously, etc. do I need to go pull copies of his racer x column?

And want to put a gentlemen’s bet on Racer X running something that inflammatory?

Am I missing a bunch of negative posts about K-Roc in here? You got the usual assholes putting their two cents in but I think the majority on here have his back. I'm sure it's a feeding frenzy on FB, which is why I can't even go on there anymore. Jus a cesspool of negativity

Is there a reason relating to racing dirt bikes that so many SX guys are not vaccinated? Given Kenny's compromised immune system, many surgeries and extreme susceptibility to viruses in general (including EBV), I am very surprised he did not get vaccinated for Covid, which I assume likely would have prevented long Covid complications.

Is Ken now the best guy to never snag an SX title? Gotta be up there with Bradshaw right?

Maybe he gets another shot at it next year on KTM
