I didnt think it was a takeout but if Anderson said that was his intention then I guess thats what it was.

In that case, Kenny owes him one. I think even if it wasnt intentional from last night Kenny owes him one after racing incidents 2 weeks in a row that really hurt Kennys championship hopes. Kenny probably could have finished at least 4th the last two weeks if not 3rd but instead finished way back.

"I've honestly kinda been reading everything wrong all day on the track... it's a bummer because I enjoyed the battle, and should have made a better pass."
I will have to take your word for it. Didnt listen to the podium interviews. I was basing my first sentence off of a post earlier in this thread.

That said, kenny owes him one either way after 2 incidents in a row, especially with the end results kenny got after those incidents.

Anderson is too hot busting caps to waste time behind Roczen who has a Cinderella story every year.

Kenny should clean him out next chance he gets. He won’t, but he really should.
He doesn't know how to do that correctly. He'd likely end up hurting himself.

Anderson can say what he wants, but he's been riding dirty since the end of last year. He seems to have decided that he's going to the front and that the collateral damage doesn't matter. He parks people needlessly for too many of his passes. I believe the racing is best when riders ride hard but don't take people out.

You will never pass anyone by following. Ando was not following.

Put yourself in Anderson’s shoes. If you had a $100,000 bonus on the line there, would you have backed off and to let Ken through? The rider on the inside controls the corner. The sooner Ken learns that, the happier he’ll be.

All of the top 8 or so riders were in Anderson's shoes going into this race. Yet Anderson is the one who's been involved in a "racing incident" at every round this year. Anderson had the speed to pass Ken clean within another lap or so and still had 15min to make it happen so no reason to press the issue.
Anderson had it given to him by Barcia at A-1. He didn’t cry about it. If anything, I bet he learned to tighten up his lines a bit when someone is right on his tail. You’d think Roczen might figure this out at some point. The outside line might be faster, but if you aren’t faster than the guy behind you, it’s probably not smart to take that faster line. Situational awareness is a key to success in Supercross, I suppose.

I was there watching in person. The outside line would be fast in the beginning until the inside line developed and that would end up being the fast line. Every rider that took the inside would drift wide like Anderson did.
It wasn’t like Anderson took the inside and went wide to purposely take out Roczen. Aggressive pass? Absolutely! Purposeful take out? Nope!
Every rider including Anderson would drift wide every lap, he didn’t go out of his way to make contact but he sure as hell didn’t go out of his way to not make contact. Aggressive riding and racing incident.

After all these years of them racing together, Roczen SHOULD damn sure be used to the way Anderson rides by now.

The thing that stood out to me is why Kenny didn't check up. Anderson had a slight edge on position and it's always the outside rider who takes it in the ass in those situations. I've seen him hang on too long before. However, it was a risky place to attempt a pass. Kind of unnecessary that early in the race.

You might want to go back and pay close attention to the 2nd replay.
The one from behind the guys.

Anderson clearly held the line that the rut in the sand gave him.
In fact you can see he was trying to cut below it when he saw their lines coming together.

Then....
Roczen hooked right at the end.
No fault of his own either.

It's sand.
It's racing.

I just prefer to see clean passes over knock downs, nothing I can do about it, its high stakes racing, no room for posers. But if JA passed w/o taking kenny down, maybe it would have gave him some time to make a gap and possibly have beat ET?
Great night of racing, action packed! These 1st 4 rounds have been the most exciting 4 that I can remember in years!

When you have 10+ guys within 1 second in qualifying, there is no easy way by. Look back at many of the top guys when passing, if the rider being passed didn't check up both would have been on the ground. Kenny left the door open, didn't check up and JA21 is always agressive. JMO

Thought the same thing watched it back and ando was ahead from the middle of the corner and roczen surely would have seen him and checked up?

Sand changes so much each lap.
There were two defined lines there earlier.

The exit of the inside of that sand corner was getting pushed further outside all night. On that particular lap the lines came together.

It was just a racing incident. Anderson is taking the high road by owning it up on the podium. But he didn’t do anything wrong. Just two lines came together on the exit of that corner.

There were plenty of easier corners if Anderson wanted or needed to make some kind of block pass. The sand corner would have been the least desirable place to make an aggressive pass.

The exit to that inside was getting pushed out all night and then perfect storm happened with Anderson and Ken colliding on the exit that lap.

Frankly I'm surprised with Roczens racecraft and experience from last weekend when Ando swept his front wheel that he didn't know what was coming. Ando ain't playin Shocked

I don't like sand sections, don't really feel they belong in SX. Watched that a couple times, felt like that was 100% on Ken. Certainly not on JA. Wasn't sure why he was so, the way he was on the podium. They were all freight training for Kenny anyways. I'm not a big fan of JA, but I would be pretty stoked to see him pull it off this year. I think Eli is going to take it this year though.. Just my thought. Ken is racing for wins now.

I'm a big fan of both guys and was disappointed at Anderson's move, but also told my 12 year old son that if Kenny would have went to the inside Anderson wouldn't have had that opportunity.

Exactly. Slower guys will be passed regardless. Btw does anyone have a picture of Kenny leaving the door WIDE open for cooper Webb at Daytona? What a weird move!

Is this Kenny's last year on his contract or does he have one more? If this is his last I wouldn't be surprised to just see Kenny mail it in and call it a career. He's a bad mofo but when he goes down he just kinda gives up and let's dudes that are well below his pace give him issues in passing.
