He already took himself and Mookie out once. Why take the chance of doing it again at the end of the first race of the season? Did that really need an explanation?

Was Mookie screaming at him for five minutes, or did Marv's reply eat up most of that time slot?
This is what makes vital so damn good! Well played Sir.

With Marvin hanging out with DV12 as his “trainer”…him being overly aggressive is no huge surprise.

Just to be clear, if you decide to dive bomb someone that hard, a tongue lashing is to be expected…..

I love a good take out, but holy cow was I surprised to see that out of Marv

I disagree, Mookie stood Jason up, good block pass. Marv absolutely dive bombed Malcolm. It was a shitty pass.

When both of you end up on the ground and in the process you get yourself passed by 3 other riders... that ain't a good pass.

Most professional racers have done this before, including Mookie, who was probably just emotional in the heat of the moment because he was hoping for a better finish.

Really no one should be upset about this move except Marv, for not executing cleanly and taking himself down too.

It was a simple racing incident, we’ll see much much worse before the seasons is over.

The difference is normally that the rider being passed actually is aware that the rider is coming. ,

Idk man, typically if someone cuts off 3/4 of a corner to ram their bike into the side of me I’m gonna be pretty pissed about it. thats what? 330-340lbs smashing into you at speed.

2 guys fighting for a line is fine, but you hit someone near the leg area and you both go down, yeah that guys getting an earful.

First one they’re fighting over a line in a 90 degree corner. Nowhere near the impact.

Second one I’m pretty sure Mookie whiskey throttled. No way that was intentional.

This isn’t to say he’s never done it, but these aren’t good examples. Marv cut the corner right off when Malcolm was already accelerating. I get that it’s racing and it happens but it was a bonehead move that cost them both.

Looked to me that Mookie didn't anticipate so he didn't go fully on the outside. He tried to cut the corner back a bit to get a good drive, whereas Musquin who was coming with the smallest angle into the corner could do no other than at least going into Mookie's line. Racing incident tbh and I don't think it was really Musquin's fault.

Gotta love the "any reason to boo the french riders" responses in here. Just like when it happens to Ferrandis.

It's racing.. sack up ladies.

You photoshop pros could do some good stuff with Mookie scaring people.

Marv isn't looking. Maybe Mookie just snuck up on him when he wasn't looking and yelled Boo! Laughing

After rewatching it, I still think it is a racing incident, 60/40 or 50/50. Mookie could also have checked up too if anticipated a bit, a bit of brake then back in the inside to counter the block pass. Musquin also had to go somewhere to make the turn. In all cases that was pretty damaging for both as they were close to that second spot.

How about we look at that comparison in detail....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zou4GQ1UUwY

Start at about 1:28 in the video. Malcolm is already overlapping a wheel on Ando all through the prior rhythm section. So Jason knows he is there. In fact, Jason seems to pinch over on him at the on off. Then, Jason clips the jump going into the corner and Mookie does not. Finally, their bikes are essentially parallel entering the turn. Their bikes never hit. Jason just got a wheel hung up on the high side... Malcolm did not clean him out in the least.

Now, how about Marv on Mookie....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCJnVDqYDdM

Go to 13:45. There is not as good a clip as we only get to see the end. Malcolm is way wide on entry. But Marv is NOWHERE as close to Mookie as Mookie was to Jason in the heat. Stop the clip. Malcolm is already leaned over turning in, and Marx is' in still in the air. There is a good bike length of space between them...which is why Mookie did not defend. Marv lands, brake slides the bike, and his rear pivots into Malcolm's front wheel, blowing the bike out from under Mooking, and taking Marv down too.

The moves are not at all alike.

Mookie should have told Marv "Listen knucklehead...I am on a 2 year guaranteed deal. No one expects me to compete for a title this year... All I have to do is make some podiums and show some speed here and there. You are on your way out on a one year SX only deal. You want to compete for a title?. Then stay the F away from me You even come close to rubbing me again and I will make sure you DNF every main this year. And you will end your career P15 in the points. That is a promise"

Except JA21 lost his balance and fell over. Marv totally cleaned mookies clock.

Sure Marvins move was more aggressive but they were pretty similar so really not sure what Mookie is complaining about unless there was another incident not covered on cam
not even close to the same, Marv also went down, than angle of the pass was never going to work out

Man, that's a fist fight Marvin doesn't want to be involved in. When someone as nice as Mookie, who's also built like a prime Marvin Hagler loses his cool with you, you better be a salty mf yourself, or make sure there are people around to help save you. Maybe some guys were standing there in case Mookie went full Spartan on the little French dude.

Bonehead move by Marv for sure but he’ll get a pass by a lot of folks since we’ve been fed so much propaganda over the years on how “nice” he and his wife are.

Don’t forget he’s the King of the Crossjump as well.

It just seemed like racing too me.

But one thing I know, people always say Mookie is going to get this guy or that guy back and take them out. But any time I’ve seen Mookie try to get physical he’s terrible at it. Just look at that video clip of him trying to go back at JA in that video, that was bad.
