Although my monkey brain was telling me "bigger is better!!" I'm going with the standard 60HP model haha. My Alta in map 4 is insane so I don't think I need 80HP.
So, if I am racing 2 classes/4 motos.....
I obviously don't have 1-2 hrs between every moto to sit there charging. So I suppose I buy 3 spare batteries at about $8K/each and do a massive bike tear down between every moto?
Oh, and we're going to have a sea of generators going all day long at MX races? That will be enjoyable. Now the noise is in the pits instead of on the track, Or are we going to expect track owners to install electrical supply and distro capable of charging all these bikes... when most MX tracks are in BFE where clean porta-shitters are too much to expect.
Sorry to buzz kill Bros, but electric bike might be a good option for training on your home tracks and that's about it. Stop all the "new dawn for the sport" talk.
Let's not forget, the California ban on gas powered tools also includes portable generators.
People with imagination know there are endless new opportunities and potential for innovation.

People with "imagination" seem to harm my wallet more than they do good for the environment. Are 200 generators running at the track going to be better for the environment than the bikes running? Sure they will use less fuel, but it still takes a bunch of energy to produce said generators.....and a bunch of fuel to ship them all around the world.
District races, 15 minutes practise and two 5 lap motos ain't gonna use a full charge.
Tonus? Does he wear Red Bull helmet?

The 6kWh pack is just 200watts larger than the 5.8kWh Alta MXR pack. The Alta MXR cant do a full 30+2 with a pro on it. Hell, depending on the speed of the track and the dirt type i can cook a full battery in about 20 minutes on my Alta MXR and im socal B class. So im really curious whether this bike will be able to last or not.
Regarding charging, it looks like they are using the same 3.3kW charger that Alta used. How fast a battery charges depends on the charging volts + amps, how thermally efficient the battery is, and of course the capacity. When you charge a battery fast it heats up the battery (just like your cellphone). I would expect 2 hours on 240v to recharge a completely dead battery, however yall should understand you dont usually drain the entire battery during a moto so charging events typically happen on a 2/3 depleted battery or so and charging times will be less in practice.
The ordering process for this bike is rad. Ive been screaming for oems to do this for years. You get to spec the bike how you want, and it will be delivered to you with suspension sprung for your weight.
Cant wait to get my hands on one!
Why are you even talking about fashion in this thread?
Let´s see when Honda, KTM, Yam etc. follow.
I was trying to decypher who is the MXGP Pro that made a full moto on it. Tonus is/was a Monster Energy athlete.
I also ride a lot of off-road, but this model is not yet designed for that. The current capacity of electric bikes would be on the ragged edge of being able to complete a dual sport event (110 miles or so). No way they could finish a GNCC, nor a basic harescramble. But, the technology is not far off.
I am not against electric, not at all. Get off your imaginary high horse chief, would not want you to spill your cappuccino on this fine morning.
