Have to say the original races with the Flat Track guys on Harleys was awesome, the bikes are just too good now, back then they were hard to ride, and it showed who had the balls to go fast.

They killed Supermoto in the US by trying to make it tarmac supercross, so all the guys that could and would have made it a growing sport , didnt bother, because sending 40ft doubles on slicks and road race suspension is just nuts.

That Ohmori photo makes my ankle hurt just looking at it. Dude's ability to slide a bike is pretty impressive, though.

Mark Burkhart. He was able to keep Jeff Ward behind him and Supermoto basically folded before he was ever really dethroned.

If it was today? Mostly roadracers. They ride pavement and dirt. Marc Marquez would crush everyone. Cam Peterson. Sipes would hold his own.

Somebody said Jake Gagne made a pro motocross national. Seems like that would bode well.

Ward was fast but he's pretty old now. Not sure he'd send it that hard.
