Kawi is paying full retail on the pipe and suspension, then trying not to loose their ass by selling stock stuff on eBay.

You should never run a Hinson or recluse clutch cover on a stock clutch, start praying or prepare for eternal damnation.

Only rich old guys can afford these factory edition, and they quickly learn their place in life when someone on an older two stroke shows them who's boss.

Did I miss anything else?

But it doesn’t matter that he beat me I just wanted a nice car and I could afford it . People that have worked hard for a living and want nice things shouldn’t be hated in because they can own nice things !!
Exactly, gotta love so called moto fans, riders. Talking shit on someone spending their own $$ and supporting bike sales. Who cares if you have a old bike and are faster. Work hard, play hard.

Yeah, my question has zero to do with the Yamaha. That one has been out for more than a year. I was just asking a question about how anyone felt about this new KX that was JUST released.
But anyway, I only asked because there’s been a lot of animosity towards the green claw. Was just asking how anyone feels about it, not about who spends their money on what or how much they spend…Or anything else.
I’m already on a waiting list to get one, first thing I’m going to do is get new graphics. The new bike is awesome tho

My post wasnt meant towards you. Its to the people who worry about others buying new bikes with their own money. I.think its awesome when i see riders buying new bikes,. Helps the industry, and technology moves forward. Not some haters that are jealous of someone buying a new bike.

I am late to the party. I thought it was another WE that had a couple of parts so I didn't open the page.

Well, I am glad I did, what a great bike that is priced perfectly ! Many people will consider going green with this one.

This is also probably the first semi factory bike since the SXS, that bike may keep some good collection value too.

Dealers found out this week whether or not they are getting one, so if you’re interested, I’d get a deposit down on one sooner than later.

Another lesson learned today... high end suspension designed for the rigors of professional racing needs a rebuild after some old fartknocker plodding around a vet track every few weeks. So the fluid is spent after 10 hours, and the low friction coatings somehow wear out the seals?

I can see any suspension needing service with a pro level rider, but not these old geezers wearing out stuff. Blimey.

But what do I know.
So a bike ridden on a groomed track with minimal bumps by a vet novice needs a service as frequently as a pro riding a rough national track, so long as the hours are the same ? Learn something new every day.

The heat a top pro puts into their suspension doing 30+2s at a pace others can’t even comprehend has to be substantially more than the average rider who pumps up after the 3rd turn and their pace drops quicker than the fuel gauge in my expedition.

Oil and seals degrade not based upon cycles and heat, but time decay? Whats the service interval in hours of it sitting on a stand?

I'm not sure if the sarcasm blew by you like DF14, or if your TYLER from Texas round 2....

I think we are on the same page. There is no way a Pro wouldn't hammer suspension harder than a vet rider like me. They are slamming bottom, flexing fork tubes and building so much heat in a 30 minute moto that the fluid is toast much quicker than the average Joe. I call BS on whatever WP guy said that and I was a suspension tech at one time in my life, so I've seen the inside of a lot of shocks and forks.

Will I buy any type of FE? Nope. I try to keep my moto costs in what I consider a reasonable range for a Vet rider that isn't making a living racing moto. Can I smoke many Vet riders on my 125 when they are on a 450 FE? Yup. Do I care? Nope. Cuz it's all for fun and none of us is getting paid to do this. Also, I realized a long time ago that Vet riders with money is the main/only thing keeping this sport floating. Fast 15 yr old kids with Pro potential don't have the money to buy $10K+ bikes. I also learned a long time ago that everyone has to have a hobby. If riding a sikkk bike that makes them no faster brings joy to these guys I am happy for them. So, I thank those old vet guys buying bikes that don't make them any faster. Thank you for spending money that keeps your childhood dream and our sport alive.

Oh... it's still funny to poke some fun at these guys going slow on their FE bikes. All in good fun. But they are paying the bills and deserve that credit.

Most of the guys I know with the factory edition models (pick brand) are pretty much vet spodes with a little dough. Even though many of them finance these bikes. I love lining up next to them on my trusty YZ250 2 stroke (or my kids 125 once in a while) and absolutely smoking them.

These posts are hilarious. If you can beat them on a 125 then you can beat them on any bike. That makes you a better rider than them. What does that have to do with how they choose to spend their money? Their purchase isn’t justified because somebody can beat them on a 125? Nope. So dumb.

You don’t know of what other sacrifices they may make to have the FE bike.
I had beater bikes growing up just no money to have the latest and greatest.
I have been lucky in work and busted my ass along the way.
I’ll probably buy this bike to go along with my turbo Levo carbon bike.
And guys smoking experts in OTMX expert may want to consider being a master if it is that easy on a 250f.

Everything is a balance I used to hit every gang National and the workload in the last 2 years has my toy hauler sitting still.
I still want a nice bike when I can put the work away and spend some time at the track with my buds.
Not sure I will ever feel bad to not have tore up graphics. I have been there for many years.

OTMX .There are a lot of sandbaggers, raced plus 60 intermediate at washougal a few years ago the top riders where skimming the whoops

I’m afraid for the Moto industry once your generation of vets are done riding. I’m 29, so I’m considered a vet. Most guys I ride with are quite a bit older and a few that are younger. If I have my stuff together like I plan too, I’ll be the 40 plus guy with the factory edition.

As My aunts uncle would always say man thats a large drive for such a small way.

He did frame work on hall ways in houses.

But the bike talked about here seems like its just a really well framed hall way, just ask tomac about it, and also to bring df14 up in a kawi thread would have to be about the silliest thing you could have done cause im pretty sure hes teamates now with the guy that rode this bike and stated, he cant win on a bike that doesnt have factory KHI parts on it and i dont see anywhere that this one does, so…….

I feel like you are talking about me here lol. After a long lay off the bike I got arm pump on line just blipping throttle waiting on gate drop. True story Dry

I have one and have ridden it twice. To be honest the suspension isn’t anything special. It’s the power that will have your attention.

Got a chance to spin some laps at Grear MX today on a brand new 2022 Kawasaki KX450SR (thanks to my buddy Cory who bought the SR). It was about 50F and sunny, nice ride day for December in Ohio. A few thoughts after the ride on the SR…...

Cory regularly rides a '21 KX450X and I ride a KTM 450SXF. Both Cory and I felt the engine stood out with strong power everywhere that was easy to use (smooth) with excellent throttle to rear wheel connectivity. The engine braking was low, especially for a new 450 engine. Vibration at the handlebar felt minimal - perhaps the special bar mounts on the X-Trig clamps reduce vibration. The combination of hand worked head, full Pro Circuit exhaust, and special EFI mapping combine to make for a very fun engine - responsive yet controlled.

Next up was the KYB suspension - mostly the forks. The friction free feel of the works style suspension is noticeable in the first 15 feet of riding: supple at the top of the stroke even on brand new forks and shock. The friction reducing coatings work. The setting feels firm and well controlled with minimal chassis pitch under braking or acceleration yet still felt plush and planted on the hard pack track. Front end traction was good.

Great to see Kawasaki offering a KX450 "SR" model with significant engine and chassis upgrades that noticeably improves the feel of an already shootout winning 450 motocrosser...Let the Good Times Roll!
