You get a decent amount for that $13000. That being said, people who are adding up the retail cost of the parts list and slapping it onto the price of a standard KX to show the value, is not accurate at all. You paid for the standard exhaust, forks, shock etc on your standard KX for that $9500. And they have some value. So you would have to deduct the cost of those parts from the SR to really have an accurate number there.
Yeah sure stock exhaust is worth 300 new take off, stock suspension is worth 1500 stock take off, nothing else is worth much of anything new take off.

So - this seems to shit all over the other bikes from a value point.

12.4 - with :
xtrigs $750
pc full exhaust 1100
Did Stx 400
Kyb kit suspension 7500
Better chain and sprocket $130
Stock bike of 9400 plus all those parts is about 20k

Also the stock bikes retailing for 95-11k look like a joke next to this bike from my perspective.

This is pretty interesting stuff.

And the Yamaha monster edition costing more for a set of lame ass graphics is a pretty Yamaha thing to do lol.

Showa A-kit from PC is like $9,500 range last I heard.
They quoted my $12,500 for a-kit.

i'd buy one so If the seals dont let water in the stem bearings, the price premium to not change steering stem bearings every 10 hours alone would be worth the cost. Not to mention all the other goodies
Wonder if the pipe/subframe will have any issues

FWIW, my buddy has a 2020 Honda CRF450WRE and it’s got ~12 hours on it. The Honda factory edition 450 comes with coatings on the upper and lower fork tubes as well, and he only rides at a sand track with 0 rocks in Houston Tx (3 palms) by looking at his upper fork tubes you’d think they bike had 60+ hours of being roosted on by the pros with River rock. They look terrrrrrible. Point of what I’m saying is I hope the KYB coatings are a lot better than whatever Honda/Showa is using on theres. Seeing that on his was the one of the main reasons I opted for a standard production model 2022. Idk if all A kit coatings are weak like that or if it’s just because it’s more “mass produced” on the “production works bikes” but either way, sheesh it was hard for me to look at his $13,000 dirtbike with 10 hours, that’s ridden solely at a sandy track, and have the forks already look so beat.

I want to know more about the suspension. Is it the real deal or mass produced versions of the real deal. Regardless of that......great deal. If truly "A" kit.....amazing deal.

Being an old guy, I love the "SR"!!! Hey, this is a serious value for a well built package. If it works anywhere close to how good it looks, damn. Honestly, they will sell more than they can make.

Well done.

There must be a lot of people on here making some serious coin to be able to afford "regular" bikes let alone FE/WE/SR editions! Way out of my league.

That’s a steal for all of that. I built a laid out KX a few years back and had every bit of 13k in it.

"A" Kit is a Showa thing. These are Kayaba. Like ML said, I don't believe this is the "factory" level suspension. KYB forks with coatings and components as if you ordered from ENZO.

My 60 hour RMZ with the cool looking forks still look like new, I ride 80% sand. The first 20 hours I rode with stock suspension, it didn’t have a decal for protection. I would be pissed if my ano on my 13,000 dollar bike looked shitty.

I could understand if he was riding or racing at tracks with rocks.

I also don’t use harsh chemicals to wash my bike. Shout and dawn dish soap.

Word, about how I feel about it… my 03 CR250 I’ve had since 08 has 40+ hours on it and the tubes look near perfect. I don’t know if the “A-Kit coatings” are more fragile but with words like HARD anodize and DIAMOND like coating I’d expect a lil more 🤷🏼‍♂️

That's kind of what i thought. Big freaking deal. The Showa forks on the 2019+ KX450 are really good. Is this even a step forward? Bike looks great it's just that suspension....odd to switch the whole thing to KYB. ML512....what do you think? When i use the term "A" kit....i'm thinking larger shock shaft, internal coatings, 49mm fork tube, and forks that need to be serviced every 8-12 hours because they are so free feeling.

Very cool they are stepping up the goodies compared to the others. That said, there is no way they are including the same suspension as you'd buy for 7-8k from KYB (imo), there has to be some differences/corners cut.

My simple answer is: this bike was planned and ordered before their talks with Eli broke down…just my opinion of course.

Obviously the biggest corner cut is that they are not providing the Showa set that the base comes with, which itself retails for over $4k

Gotta spend your money on something. If I still rode I'd buy something like this. If I can spend $5k or more on a mtb a dirt bike has much more value IMO. Remember, some people make a lot of money and don't really have much to spend it on so if you like the sport you'll blow your money on something like this.

The 19+ showa production fork is essentially the same as current a kit sans 2mm piston dia from what I recall....

The body flows well paired with an A kit Comp adjuster assembly and an 18mm shaft. IMO the KYB stuff is likely a step backwards from the current production showa stuff minus the fork kashima coat that people drool over.

I totally dig it and would love to have one but I also love my well setup showa suspended bike with the A kit adjuster/shaft/clevis. Still rockin a stock pipe because its a 450 and I dont need more power. Certainly didnt sting as bad when it was just a stock pipe that got ran over and dented to hell after a first corner pile up

More stunt marketing for fat old men with some spare cash to spend, like me.

If history teaches us anything, you will see these bikes the day they come out parked at the Pala and Glen Helen vet tracks, ( right next to the new KTM FE) and being ridden without so much as a tire pressure, spoke, or sag check.

Bike will be too much for a guy who’s last time on a dirt bike was a 125 back in 1998, and will go up for sale on cycle trader with about 4 hours on it- or become a 14,000.00 garage queen that will forever have the new nubs on the OEM Dunlop’s until the day he sells it for a 4000.00 loss.

Mid life crisis vehicle?
