As just an outsider, it seems like ML gave his all with that team and got some good results. After having the original team riders jump ship and recent riders constantly bitching about the bikes, I wouldn't blame ML if he just got tired of it all. At least Schock gave lots of thanks in a recent interview...so there was at least some appreciation. Good job, ML.

Never understand why slightly funded teams come in swinging with big transporters. That’s the first mistake before the wheels have turned

My guess would be that you need the big rig to attract sponsors so they feel that they’re spending their money on a legit team and not some box van shad tree deal. Perception is reality.

Look ML took a big risk. Mike and I are not friends but I respect what he tried to do. Are there rewards yes. His efforts paid for doors to open for some riders and some not. Sometimes the B teams work harder because they have to. Will ML get recognized for his work next year maybe not but ML could make a good team manager for a team looking for one because he didn’t quit until he had no other choice. That’s not quitting that’s accepting facts. He will come out richer and maybe not money wise but how many teams make money. None. Great job ML.

So if I do not check every damn link then how to I know the facts, plus it is still my opinion whether wcl is a pile of shit or not that ML did a awesome job with that FXR team so let’s put things into some perspective.

GuyB, sorry mate, I wasn’t trying to imply it was you! I haven’t the slightest clue as to who, more that this news sheds some light on maybe why.

ML coming back here? That's going to go over well....
It’s weird. Why would Vital Media hire a guy who apparently stole money from their members?

Amen... Probably the only sport on earth with a complete dearth of legitimate journalism. For resounding proof of this look no further than the Blake Bagget situation.

Baggett and the team aren’t talking. What is the media supposed to do show up at his house?

If people have better ideas on running a team then let's see it.

Wtf is wrong with people? Do you take no risk in bettering yourself or learning? Has no one hear never failed, never lost a job?

I’ve ran businesses, and made mistakes along the way. I’ve never taken peoples money then blatantly refused to provide the product or service with some bullshit excuses. How could you justify that?

You can’t excuse this type of behaviour. A missed order or email is forgivable, but you only have to look at the dumbgeon or the WCL Facebook page to see the long list of people who have been scammed.

“Oh I broke my phone last weekend” is a horrendous response to not replying to a paying customers 2 month long communication attempts.

Problem is ML has ruined a lot of his reputation with WCL and how he's PUBLICLY handled legitimate complaints. Excuses and empty promises over and over. Saying he's laid up in a hotel with COVID then showing up in a Weege video at the races a couple days after.
This isn't about the team folding. It's about what I just explained. He has absolutely "stolen" money from numerous customers and refused to actually refund anything.

Ohhhhhh hell no 😂😂😂

That d-bag straight up stole money from a WCL Shopify account to fund the race team (or who knows what) and not only ghosted people after flat out lying, but put Scot @ WCL in a position where he can’t refund orders from Shopify.

I hope ML loses everything and someone more responsible can take over the team.

Long story short: ML was skimming money from the WCL account (among other people) that Scot wasn’t aware of. By the time ML gave Scot access to the Shopify account for HIS COMPANY, the fire had already started and ML had already cleaned it out. Scot/WCL are now the ones who are stuck with the bill trying to play catch-up while his company looks like shit for it trying to fill or refund old orders.

Scot has access and can see who he owes, but with no money there, he’s essentially helpless for now.

That’s why my last message to Scot was a heart out apology for bad mouthing him and offering to drop the card dispute once I get the parts and I’ll just sell the FCP set to offset any loss as best I can.

I’ve had a couple phone calls with industry people and it seems ML has been doing this since the creation of the race team as far as timeline.

I hate to say this, but it actually sounds even bigger than the Varner situation a while back.

Interested to see how the nut huggers try paint ML as the victim in this scenario too.

You better watch out, Team Green will jump in to defend him and go off on a complete nonsensical rant.

I had a long conversation with Michael yesterday about a lot of things, and I can say that he is one of the most aware, competent, and intelligent people that I’ve spoken to in a long time. This sport needs more guys like him .

Thank you Michael for all the great information, I hope we get to talk again soon.

Nope. ML is a shifty, slimey little guy, who isn’t liked by very many people in the industry. The sport absolutely does not need more people like him. Ya know the ones taking peoples money and not giving 2 shits about it. He sweet talked you, like he does with everyone. The guy is a snake. I’ve seen it first hand multiple times. Just because he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to how a dirt bike works doesn’t mean he’s a trust worthy person. Lindsay is a tool.

Between this thread and the WCL positive update how the fuck is anybody even remotely close to defending ML? Clearly showing multiple times he has stolen money from people.

Fuck thieves.

If he was any of the things you just described him as, this, nor any other post regarding his shitty business practices, would exist.
