Very upset by this news, was not expecting this at all. Rest in peace Joe Newmann, you were a very good man. We lost a great one today.

I thought he had the coolest garage, and bikes! I also never met him personally, but liked him after all these years of posting on our little message board together. My love and good vibes are up from New Jersey to his family and friends.

RIP Joe, thanks for the help on the PVL on the vintage racebike I was really hoping to be able to show you before long. My condolences to your family.

Same here.

Seemed like a guy who worked his ass off to get where he was and was now enjoying it. Also seemed like the type of guy who’d give you the shirt off his back.

RIP Joe. Never met but if I had I’d be proud to say it.

Absolutely terrible news. Lots of guys here jab back and forth and it gets heated at times, but we're all moto brothers. Joe seemed like the moto guy to end all moto guys. Loved seeing his bikes and paint jobs - and he'll be missed on this form. Condolences to his family if they read this, he was a very well liked and revered guy on this form, if that means anything to you in your time of grief.

I'll have to pick up some Shiner Bock for the next time I put a big slab of meat on the grill.

RIP and condolences to all friends and family.

Very sad to hear this....hard to believe. RIP Joe.

When I was putting together a clapped out 81 YZ250, was in a tight spot and not able to find a discontinued part. Joe sent me what I needed and wouldn't take any money from me. What's that tell you about a person?

When I first got in to the vintage scene I was the guy at his trailer drooling over his bikes. The guy had never met me in my life and walked up to me and said "Want to ride it?". I've been his biggest fan since.

RIP.

Hope his and the other posters that’ve suffered with this virus continue to kill any remaining skepticism about the existence or threat of. He wasn’t ‘weak.’

These are not the comments I expected to be reading. I hadn’t seen the previous thread, so I don’t know what happened and it isn’t any of my business. I didn’t know Newmann personally and only chit chatted with him when he bought a cone pipe from me and a couple of times after that. From my experience and from the posts I’ve seen of his, he was a very, very nice guy, knowledgeable, and very well-liked…and has some of the coolest things and one of the most bad ass garages I’ve seen. He will be missed by many. RIP.

I only know joe from this forum , but I feel like I just took a huge gut punch. Have spent lots of time checking out his vintage bikes. Hang in there in these tough times friends and family. Covid sucks !! When I read that the ventilator seemed to be working , I thought that Newmann was gonna be ok. Looks like some of those clapped out Elsinores in heaven will get to be brought back to life by Joe.

Such a bummer, he was a solid guy. He did things for people just because he could and never asked for anything in return.

Sad, sad day.
