Feel free to talk smack on the yellow pig or relay recent Suzuki stats all you want. I won't need a box of kleenex...

Well, at least you are accepting the results. And yes rider makes a difference but remember these:

-Cooper Webb's SX results
-How much better Barcia looked indoors on the GasGas in SX this year
-How Ferrandis struggled indoors and is dominating outdoors on the same bike/team

Just some facts to observe as well.

I’d say having 30% of the bikes in the top 10 is a pretty good result for a new team in its first year in the class?
You could also say that Ferrandis was adjusting to the new bike and finding his setup? He had the speed, being the fastest qualifier a couple of times.
You seem to always focus on the negatives, pretty sure you lick your lips with excitement whenever something goes wrong for Yamaha.
I’m just happy to have Yamaha back in contention for a title.

4 out of 5 races won so far in 450s and something like 5 of the last 7 years winning the 250 mx title. Yeah Yamaha is terrible.

Barcia was 16 points better in Sx this year, hardly a huge difference

I think that Southwick takes its toll on all the brands.

Remember a few years ago when 3 of 4 pro circuit bikes blew up at this same track?

2006 Southwick was bad for PC. I think RV, GL, and Troy Adams all blew up. Not sure if that’s what he was talking about as that was 15 years ago

14 YZF vs 17 RMZ can 17 CRF.
Fun fact, Yamaha wasn’t the widest. The width only started a bit sooner. The rest? Well, Suzuki was the widest at the end of the shrouds and mid shroud, Honda was the widest.
Get out of here with your facts. I don’t care what you say. The Yamahas look heavy and feel big because. Well, just because.
Pretty sure it's because of the moto media needing to blame something for James not winning, nevermind Millsaps getting second in the championship on a lesser version of the same bike...

Webb also changed his entire program and got in shape. Let’s not forget his Mx results.
Barcia looked great at the beginning of SX just like previous years. Not significantly better.
Ferrandis was injured during the off-season and was not able to test. He was able to test for outdoors.

You mention facts quite a bit. They seem much more like your opinion

Why are you all so anti brands other than your fav?

I have ridden the ‘21 YZF450F and it’s damn good in fact they ALL are.

What happened in Supercross where the nickname "Blue Pig" originated? There was definitely a new and improved Star bike for '21 SX but it was still a Blue Pig considering your rider went from struggling indoors to dominating outdoors. Completely different rider outdoors, and I feel Dylan is just as good indoors as he proved on the 250.

The Yamaha has never struggled outdoors so I'm not sure why people are surprised it's the bike to beat right now. As for indoors, we'll see what happens in '22. If Star has the bike sorted out for SX next year I expect to see your rider at the front and the nickname Blue Pig will be put to rest once and for all. If not next year, then hopefully the all new '23 Yamaha will do the job indoors.

This is maybe the dumbest subject that comes up on vital. The first gen with the reverse motor was a tank and even Stew couldn't win on it on a regular basis. Since then they haven't had a title contender on the bike. Now they do.

Yes, seriously, he went from 5th to 4th. Agree better, but I don’t think it was significantly better. He’s on pace to have similar results as 2020.

Using SX as a reason to continue piling on the blue 450 is short sighted. Star had just taken over the 450 program. Zero base to go off of in their first season campaigning the bikes. They improved over the season and they have found a lot more in outdoors. Next season is what should be used as a bell weather for the bike. Star will have a solid year with them in testing and live racing.

All the bikes are far beyond our abilities including the Suzuki. No reason to choose a side. Just enjoy getting outdoors and challenging yourself.

Due to bonus’s last week they couldn’t afford to re build the race bikes.

the only reason they all took a shit was because it sucks the air from the front of the motorcycle, so when the bike is getting roosted like that its sucking sand regardless of what filter prep is used, but that the price you pay for HP.

the yamahas produce more power the faster you ride them cause of air induction!

lets be smart and know that when going to sand roost city its gonna turn out bad for that style of air intake tract and motor.

thats just common sense.

Yeah man how about those Yamahas?! Never been a big blue fan but Star has absolutely turned this program and bike around. 450’s remind of the 250’s in how they pull hole shots. Dylan is a beast and dominating and Pless is showing his true potential with the new team, glad to see it.

Bullshit.
Plessingers motorcycle had a fuel pump failure.
Ferrandis' heavy clutch work was boiling the oil and causing the coolant to follow suit. When he backed down the engine cooled off and stopped steaming.

What bike did Stew win on consistently other than Kawasaki? Its not the bike! The Yamaha is known as the most reliable 450 in the field any you guys want to start crap when one DNFS?

Those OEM clutch plates on Eli’s bike seemed to do the trick. Didn’t see a single puff out of that thing all day.

Not to mention it was Dylan’s first year in 450 SX as well. If you only look at the results on paper, yeah they are obviously worse than his outdoor results. But he had a ton of speed in SX, often times making the most passes of the race due to his starts.

I think the ‘Blue Pig’ nickname is just lingering from the original iteration of the bike and the reluctant nature of Factory Yamaha to listen to the riders feedback. There’s a reason the bike consistently wins shootouts.
