Thrasher mechanical DNFl, Plessinger mechanical DNF, and now the 14 smoking....I remember people talking shit on the Vohland's KTM earlier in the year at Pala: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Vohland-Ktm-bummer,1391335...

Well, just proof all bikes can shit the bed. Even the indestructible, unbeatable, most powerful, most reliable, Star Yamahas
Big balls by BDB to mention DNF’s, it’s taboo.

I never really understand the rules in these conversations. Is it, people can talk about brands winning races, even though they can't, but you can't talk about brands losing races, even though they can...?

It's almost as if keeping a race bike going week in and out without any failures at the top level under rough conditions is a heavy lift across pretty much every team and make:

Honda: Sexton mechanical DNF at LL2 last year
Husqvarna: Hampshire DNF while in lead
Kawi: Tomac mechanical DNFs in 2020
KTM: Vohland already mentioned
Suzuki: Anste DNF this week
Yamaha: Plessinger this race, Barcia R2 2020

Which was exactly the point of this thread from the OP ," ANY brand can shit the bed".

But it touched a few nerves...

It's super weird how we are with our bike brands. I'm guilty of this as well but i recognize it as really strange.

Yeah, and based on history, I certainly wouldn't champion Star or Yamaha as infallible.

That said, Vohland's two engine grenades on the same bike with less than 20 min of seat time was definitely a bigger embarrassment than some of the other teams' bad luck/abuse/mistakes that I mentioned.

How many times has Thrashers bike got him a 0 in the last 4 motos? 50% of the time. At least Colts bike has only broken 25% of the time in the last 4 motos.

Seems like Honda hasn’t cared about championships since RC. They’re more interested in signing “good guys”... Canard, Short, Brayton. Kinda weird.

I don’t know man, canard was the next big thing and won two races as a rookie against Chad, RV, Stew, Dunge. He just couldn’t stay healthy.

They spent a lottttt of money on Millsaps, Hot Sauce, BT, so I don’t think they didn’t care. They made Team 22 a factory effort midway through 2011 too. They just bet on the wrong horses, or the only horses that were available.

the only reason they all took a shit was because it sucks the air from the front of the motorcycle, so when the bike is getting roosted like that its sucking sand regardless of what filter prep is used, but that the price you pay for HP.

the yamahas produce more power the faster you ride them cause of air induction!

lets be smart and know that when going to sand roost city its gonna turn out bad for that style of air intake tract and motor.

thats just common sense.
This has to be sarcasm.

Vohlands Pala engines were fat hotrods - probably 300cc given they pulled lengths on Star machines.

I reckon they failed unproven pistons.

From the blue pig to the blue cheetah! Pretty soon vitards will be saying the orange color ruined the chromoly frames on the other bikes or that the orange brigade is running big bores to keep up.Dry

In Craig's vlog, he was talking to the suspension tech saying to add air and slide the forks down in the clamps..

Before or after he wadded up with a front end push in practice? If after that's exactly the wrong direction, if before, well...

Yes because who wants a planted rear end and a front that doesn’t dive?

Look back at the wreck. His front didn’t push, he literally tries to change lines over the breaking bumps on a off camber with loose sand. Your “fix” is a arm chair grasp from a computer/cellphone vs a very talented racer who is feeling tendencies from HIS motorcycle. Blink
