I think he will be fine and I wont be surprised if he gets a top 5 o/a at Red Bud.
Dude has GOT to keep it on two wheels, no matter how loud mitch is whining...
AC was 22 (almost 23) when he put it together. Forkner was tearing it up in 2019 before he got hurt indoors. Give the guy a break. Sure, if he isn't top 5 by the end of this season and he struggles next year he probably won't have great offers, but let's give him the rest of the summer to see how things go.
Birthplace/Hometown: Richards, Missouri
Parents: Mike (Farmer) and Julie (Teacher) Forkner
Education: Through 7th Grade Public School Home School Since 2011
Team: Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki
Bike: Kawasaki KX250F"
You do the math.
Ferrandis is 27 and just now getting on a 450. Whats to say Forkner cant do the same? Sure he needs to start producing on a 250, but all Im saying is the guy has potential. I think he just needs a yr or 2 to get confidence back like AC needed.
Ferrandis won his first championship at 25. RC was retiring at 25 or 26. Times have changed.
Pit Row
There was also the deal with his chick and those headgames can easily put one off their A game.
We all know that to compete at the pinickle everything has to work like the finest Swiss watch. I'm giving him the benefit of the boubt and look forward to that Forker Fire to come alive down the line.
Wish him the best going forward.
That’s a whole different story and ball game and does deserve allot more respect and credits then what he is getting.
I agree with you times has changed and age doesn’t really matter anymore, US or MXGP still plenty off “old dogs” running up front.
I think a new team and switch up should be good for Forkner. Just a fresh start with new people and a new way, because what he is doing now is simply not working.
Fer christ sakes give him some time, its been 3 races. Some maturity and having to build back up, may help him in the long run. Guess we’ll see
No one can deny that Forkner was killing it in sx in 2019, he was so close to winning the title even with an injury. The guy has speed just needs to string it together and avoid injuries. He has the potential to ride a 450 at the factory level.
I guarantee you Austin will end the season with multiple OA podiums and top 5 in the standings, which is pretty good for a guy who lost organs last year.
He was always a podium contender but never more then that.
The kid is fast, he will rebound and be fine. Been through hell and back. I’ll laugh when everyone who wrote him off watches him mature and start to excel like he always has done. Each person will be a new fan like those who hated Reedy until his latter years and then say everyone will miss him when he is gone.
There is no denying his talent. I can’t recall the first outdoor race he won. And maybe it was just a moto or maybe the OA. Was it 2018? He was so fun to watch.
Feels like it was ages ago and he’s regressed quite a bit. I did not know he was still suffering from any injuries. I just assumed if he was out there then he’s 100% but that appears not to be the case.
Be interesting to see how the rest of outdoors goes.
