Define "Bro's"

3/19/2021 1:11am
Existential reality moment:
We are all "bros" to non rider folk.

I can guarantee no matter how much you earn, or what country you live - if you post on vital you have a certain cali dialect that will make you seem a little bit like a "bro" to other folks. e.g) "Thats siiick maaan" "What kind of (insert new part here) are you running?" - y'all seem like some kind of american surfer / adrenalin junkie to normal folk.

"Done any backflips on your dirtbike lately bro?"

** riders think they see newbies / scenesters as bros - but in reality in a sport where speed is currency - anyone significantly slower than you is subjectively a "bro"

When I was growing up, to be somebodies bro was a good thing. It meant you were tight friends. It's time we take back the bad connotation given to the word by the flat duck-billed, black socked, sign flashing posers!
I was having dinner with Bob Roll (ex 7-Eleven team member and Tour de France commentator) a while ago and he was referencing his long-term tight friends as 'Stone Bros'. That one stuck for me.

So would Cooper Webb and his hat qualify him as a Bro? Asking for a friend.

Most of my interactions and folks at the track are of median income, well rounded, common sense folks. Mostly families and middle age guys that would not be classified as red necks or bro's. I'm confused as to the common stereotype and maybe that was the case some time ago but mostly quality individuals from all walks of life in our moto neighborhood.

You round some good people Jared. If you ever make it out this way ever again, I’ll take you around and you can determine for yourself, the different species of BRO. Really get a kick out of the ones where one sentence contains no less than the use of 40 BRO’s
Be careful. Bro's are easily agitated and if you approached them from the wrong angle it might set him off. He may even seem calm at first, but with the amount of monster running through his system he could flip at any moment. Your best bet is to view them with distance, because the baggy pants limits their ability to make any charge at you.

I grew up in Huntington Beach born in 93 and raced motocross. when metal mulisha/Srh/sullen/flatbill hats and lifted trucks where becoming popular in the 909 area and driving to beach area they received a bad rep. Growing up at times I didn’t even tell people I raced because I would be called a bro and I never owned one article of so called bro clothes or was a glamis weekend warrior. The clothes and style has faded away but still exists and surfers have bridged a gap with motocross big time!

Basically what he said was: Grand Isle not so much anymore as city slickers moved in acting like millionaires but Larose, Cut Off and Galliano are still in full effect. They even had a “504” themed party. Hahahaha! Hope that helps

Although everywhere, Bro’s are to the “909”, “951” (area codes of the “inland empire” if you will) as the “Sabines” are to Grand Isle.

For you Americans, these are chavs and they pop up in Mx groups on fb all day every day asking if anyone knows of ‘land’ to ride on. Going to tracks means them buying boots and realising how shit on a bike they are...not happening lol
